I have now been in contact with 5 different cast members and got 5 different responses regarding my retracted gift card.
1) A new gift card will be issued for the one cancelled.
2) You haven't been charged and the authorization will drop automatically.
3) A special team is working on the refunds, it should take 3-5 business days.
4) Your order was instantly placed on a hold due to the wrong discount being applied.
5) Order was cancelled and no payment was taken, please contact your bank.
I don't blame them for cancelling the gift card (even without letting me know), but their customer service...
