It say some 1 per transaction so it looks like we can’t stock up if we split up the transactions!,
Don’t forget to use your Chase freedom if you have one. extra 5% back

Did you try yet? My ad says the coupon can not be used to buy gift cards.

I had the same thing happen to me, received a MC instead of a gift card. They sent an email asking to review how they did and I let them know. Separate the gift cards from the merchandise credit and gave them 2 stars. If anything is going to motivate them to fix their policy of not differentiating between the two, its poor reviews. It's good to know that I can buy tickets at the store with the MC.
I also received a MC. The back of mine says it cannot he used on park tickets. Does yours not say that on the back?

I just came here to post. I successfully bought 4 $100 gift cards in separate transactions. You can’t use the $15 towards your next set of gift cards, you have to use them on actual groceries. I would also suggest not doing 4 $100 transactions back to back on the same credit card. You will probably get a fraud alert. I have 2 chase freedoms so I did 2 on each without a problem.

I have to do some searching to see if there are any good deals on things I can stock up on.

Well this is interesting, I tried to load a Visa GC into my PayPal account and it was denied. Looking at the other Visa gc's I was able to add and use, the only difference I see on this card is...

View attachment 407057 Your card is now active for in-store purchases only.

Is this why it won't load? My other gc's have "Valid online and in-store" or "Valid in the US."
Any thoughts @PerfessorZ ? .... anyone else?

Did you register it? With your zip code?

Well, I think some of you must live in my area, because when I went to S&S at 10am, Disney GCs were completely sold out!

The good thing is the Happy Cards were still in stock, so I might go back for Happy Guy or Lady if I don't find Disney at another S&S (there are 2 others in reasonable driving distance, if I combine with another errand). The churn is an extra step, though, and I always worry a little bit about getting stuck. I would not be a Happy Lady if I got stuck with a few hundred $ in Happy Lady cards that could only be spent on merchandise from those stores.

The site "prepaidgiftbalance" did not ask for my zip code or any personal info.

UPDATE: This site is down. So I called to have it registered with personal info, was told it takes an hour. If you call they can only register 2 cards at a time. Stupid.

Haha. My store in Connecticut had a whole row. Don’t forget to check the greeting card aisle and the checkout area. It may be frowned upon but you could always grab them from a different store and activate them at Stop & Shop Too.

I'm sure this has been reported here, but we recently struck out on using Target gc's to buy Disney ones. The clerk asked her mgr and both said they were no longer allowing you to buy other giftcards with Target ones. I think I've heard that Best Buy was still allowing for this if anyone can confirm? Target/Best Buy cards typically sell at a discount on eBay, and so I had been buying them with the intent to buy Disney cards with the retailer gift cards.

I think the AMEX certain % off at retailers like Lowes still worked for buying giftcards.

Nope. Both of those have been disallowing GC to GC purchases for months. I think Target stopped nearly a year ago. I believe the only store that's still allowing it is Walmart, though at least one person has reported not being able to do it. People are still having success using Walmart GCs at Sam's Club for Disney GCs, though. If you use your Red Card at Target, you will get 5% off everything, including gift cards.

If your credit card has an offer for statement credit at a retailer that sells gift cards, you should be fine getting your discount that way.

Thanks for the info. Walmart gift cards are tough to get at much of a discount for the purpose of buying Disney cards. So Kohls/Home Depots/Lowes have cracked down on gift card with gift card purchases too?

I've been avoiding doing the red card, because I shoot for a bonus offer on new credit card applications and Sams Club $150 had been just under $143, about 4.67% off, now they're just under $145 for the $150 ones (3.3%) and I think just under $72 for $75 (4% off), and I thought it was close enough not to bother with it. But I may eventually try it. Idk if I'd be approved for this yr given I have about 15-20 new applications in the past 24 months.

We've done the retail stmt credit offer a couple times and the 4x Kroger fuel pts. for giftcard purchases.

So back in March, there were posts about buying from BJs in bulk to get a discount. I bought 35 gift card sets (3 in a set X35=105 gift cards), in anticipation of our December trip. I used some of them right away to pay off items. The others I set aside to use to potentially pay for an AP or food while we were there. I had planned to combine them all onto one card close to our arrival date. Well, we decided to take an adults only trip for my upcoming birthday. I pulled out the remaining gift cards to pay for that trip. As I was combining them, I found one set ($150) that would not work.

This happened to me as well back in October from BJ's. A pack of cards was included but not activated. I called and e-mailed them. They'll want the numbers off of the bad cards you got. It took them about 2 weeks but they made it right and got new cards out to me. This was for the $150 pack (three $50 cards). Hang in there and give them the chance to make it right.

Do the Target Debit REDCard! You get the same benefits without a credit pull/opening a new credit card.
