The rewards expire. I'm elite and I think they last about two months???

I have been earning BB rewards points for about 6 months and the points haven't expired for me yet. I finally earned enough points in September (hello, new washer) to generate two $5 rewards certificates. The rewards certificates expire in 2 months from issue date.

So points haven't expired in 6 months. Rewards certs expire in two months...just my experience.

Thanks! I had points from last year just sitting since they weren't enough for even a $5 cert and they are still there in my total. But I wondered if they had a shelf life as points, like will those 2017 points expire at the end of this year if I don't request a cert? Although I'll probably end up using them for holiday shopping anyway so it won't matter. Just had a momentary jolt since I've been letting them accumulate. Unless you're elite, at some point it'll auto generate a cert IIRC so I had made it the max value to pseudo bank our points since certs do have that expiration date on them. This is our first year as Elite since they changed the tiers a couple years ago, trying to get used to it.

Hello all! I've been out of the GC loop for awhile and have some SB to cash in. Is it still possible to purchase Disney GC with a Target GC or should I just go for PayPal?

No straight GC > GC purchase for Target. The policy changed over the summer. You can use the Target GC to buy items you'd otherwise pay for and then use your RedCard for a discount on the Disney GC as a work around. But PayPal works too, you just miss out on the discounted redemption that way (but if you don't shop normally at Target anyway it's not much of a loss I guess).

Not sure if anyone was aware or interested, but BJ's has the $150 pack of Disney gift cards for $140.99 today.

Good find! It does say offer valid until 10/2, so as you said today only, and only while supplies last. I'm pretty sure it sold out before IIRC so folks should purchase sooner rather than later. That makes it 6% discount vs the usual 3.3%.

Did anyone ever find a portal that pays out for BJ's?

Speaking of BB rewards points, I'm not totally familiar with all the new structure, does anyone know offhand how long can you bank rewards points? Is there an expiration? We earned Elite status for next year too so I don't have to worry about losing the bank for a while but don't want to get tripped up if the have some type of expiration still.

The POINTS do not expire and I think you have to select an option to bank them. IIRC, I had to choose to bank my points and then I can choose when I want to redeem them for a certificate. That might be the default option, but I'm not sure. The other option that I recall, is that they will automatically issue the certificates as you earn them in the denomination that you choose ($5, $10, etc). The CERTIFICATES will expire so be careful not to redeem your points for a certificate until you are ready to use them. I usually print mine out right before I leave for the store.

Banked points don't expire. From their FAQ:
How does point banking work?
Elite and Elite Plus members may choose to save points until ready to issue reward certificates. Banked points do not expire until converted to reward certificates

You can tell it to stop auto-issuing certs in your account if that is happening, it's just a setting to change.

TBH I do take some precautions with letting points bank up. I don't issue certs until a few hours before I'm ready to use them (anybody with your phone number could use your cert and you won't get it back). I don't bank up more than $25 worth because devals happen to programs overnight and it's possible overnight someday BB will stop allow reward cert redemptions to work on gift cards. Lately I've been redeeming at the $5 level as I just haven't had as much in my BB account. Last time I issued my $5 cert and picked up a $105 variable load Disney gift card (alas my store needs to get those variables restocked!)

Hahaha, you just beat me to it!

And with the Chase Freedom and Discover cards at 5% for wholesale clubs this quarter, it was definitely worth it for me.

Ugh....you have just given me anxiety:crazy2:...I checked my account and I have $120 of rewards sitting in my account:scared:.
I received another offer for $75 in rewards if I spend $1500 on my BB Visa before October 30. I didn't think that was possible...well...
...Car insurance: $250 (*normally, I pay it from the checking account, but I put it on the CC this month, just for the points)
...Car registration: $300 (^^Same^^)
...Brakes went out: $500
...It's looking like I might just hit that $1500 after all:sad:

I also got another offer for $25 in rewards on a single $250 purchase at BB. Well, I don't need another $250 in gift cards so even though that would be a nice 10% bonus, I'm going to have to let that one pass by.

The $500 Disney GC at BJ's is now showing free shipping. It's still only 3% but with the shipping charge before it made it even less, so it's a step in the right direction at least :)

Looked to see if there were any other sales and just two other GC's are listed, a "$50 TicketNetwork Gift Certificates, 2 pk" for $75 (down from $79) and IHOP "$10 IHOP Gift Card, 3 pk." for $24 (down from $29)

I was late on the RMN deals and had to scramble today. I was able to get to CVS, Home Depot and Walgreen's. I had alerts from all of them by the time I got back to the car that I had completed the offers.

Then I went to Staples...

The only Disney gift cards they had were $50 and that wasn't going to happen. I decided to get creative and I opted to buy a $25 Target gift card. Then, when I go grocery shopping at Target on Tuesday, I'll use the gift card for the groceries and buy a $25 Disney gift card with my Red Card. I also bought a mini Sharpie to keep with me and mark all of my Target FWP gift cards. Well, so far, I haven't seen a credit yet for the Staples purchase:mad:. I'm a little bummed because I really didn't need to buy the gift cards. I only did it because I decided to get the kids some souvenir money and I figured that spending $100 now (which is money coming out of the vacation account for next year's trip since this year's trip is already paid for) would "earn" me another $40 to put into the account for next year's trip anyways. Is there still a chance that I will eventually see a credit for the Staples purchase? Is there a delay or has it consistently been instant or not at all?

OK, I found something interesting...

I looked at my Visa account today and I see the charges for Walgreen's and CVS, but the charges for Home Depot and Staples are not there yet. I received credit from RMN for my HD purchase, but NOT for my Staples purchase. Is there a possibility that since it is still not showing up on my Visa that it just has not yet been reported to RMN? AND, if that is the case, will it eventually show that the purchase was made on 9/30, before the offer expired? I guess I am just really holding out some hope for that silly, little $10. I'm just a little miffed about it because I ended up buying a Target gift card which was entirely unnecessary.

@kristenrice and @gottalovepluto - I thought that's how it worked but had a momentary glitch where I completely flaked on it. I planned to look it up later but ya'll did the work for me, thanks! I did have to change my option to Points Banking, it didn't default to it when we changed levels. We don't have much, I think we're up to $30 maybe?, but I don't know exactly what we'll be using it on yet so I'd rather save it and take the risk.

Did not get my 750 sb bonus today even though I got my shop & earn email. Hopefully it comes tomorrow.

Has anyone used the CVS Dosh deal for 5% back to purchase gift cards? I would like to do this today, but my Disney trip is in 2 days, and if it isn't going to work, I will head to BB using SB.

It'll work, I did it Q1 or Q2 when Chase Pay was a category too. Just did it for another Chase Pay promo that ended last week and worked fine. Have fun with it :)

Don't forget to add your BB number too for rewards points.
Just signed up for SB, have not used any offers. How does this work ?

From the SB website (not the app) search the Shop section for Best Buy. On the store page there's an option for a bonus if you buy from the weekly ad or shop in store. It's a sliding scale, a 50-99 purchase gets 250sb, 100-499 purchase gets 750sb, and 500 and up is 1500sb. This is a bonus on top of the % back you get from shopping, currently at 2%. The fine print excludes gift cards, however, in practice it pays out on GC purchases. Click on the box for the instore bonus and it'll give you a QR code to have the cashier scan, that's how it tracks your purchase to pay out on your SB account. Make sure it's scanned before they total the order for payment. (You'll see it on your receipt) The 2% sb goes pending for the normal 30ish days, but the bonus is paid out when it gets picked up, usually the same day but is occasionally delayed a day or two.

You can combine it with BB rewards points and, as mentioned in the PP, this quarter for Chase Freedom Chase Pay is part of the 5% categories which BB is one of the few places that takes Chase Pay. I give the cashier our BB rewards number, have them scan the SB QR code, ring up the GC, then have them scan the Chase Pay QR code to pay. If you can buy in $100 increments that gets your best return now. Can only do one transaction per day for SB. I did this last Friday, the trip went pending over the weekend, got the bonus on Monday (bonuses are only paid out on business days, just a quirk).

Thank you for the reply! I shop at Target all the time. I will have to apply for a RedCard.
