Disney Gift Card Deals

I used a shopping portal to order gift cards off Sam's Club online. However, it's not tracking as a warehouse club, just as merchandise. I'm not counting on the the extra 5% from the Discover bonus this quarter. When I ordered from Costco online, it codes as a warehouse club. I've never ordered from B.J.'s online. I'd be curious if anyone has any data points on that.

Regarding the 5% back from the rotating quarterly category - No - it shouldn't matter whether you go direct or via the portal. In general, whenever I purchase anything online, I go through a rebate portal. Even if I don't think it will pay (usually cause buying a gift card or paying with a gift card), I still connect through a portal just in case (sometimes I get lucky!).

In this case, I went through the Discover Deals portal because they are offering 5% cash back. This would be portal cash back, which would be in ADDITION TO the rotating 5% category. With new Discover cards, that would be doubled. However, Discover Deals states that gift card purchases don't count towards portal cash back, so I doubt this will work. Just figured I'd give it a shot. Wishful thinking on my part probably. I will report back if Discover Deals pays out.

Looks like BJ's prices are slightly better (online at least - not sure about in store). I wanted to experiment with going through the Discover Deals portal though, which is why I bought from Sam's (Costco and BJ's aren't options on Discover Deals).

No rewards at Best Buy when paying with a gift card unfortunately. Also, I believe their rewards program was cut from 2% to 1% - at least for the standard rewards.

Well still 13% savings is a great % of savings for me. None of my Targets will allow me to buy gcs with gcs anymore.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if Best Buy sells Carnival gift cards? That's what we're saving up for right now and I've got some Best Buy rewards dollars to spend. Thanks!

I'm currently saving for a Carnival cruise in July. I haven't found many routes for good deals on their gcs. There is the Verizon program and AARP rewards where you build up rewards and can reddem them for a discount on a Carnival gc. What I've actually done is use swagbucks to cash out for paypal cash, then use that cash to buy my Carnival cards. I wish it was easier to find places selling their cards though.

The best credit card for these deals is the chase ink card, which gives 5 points back at office supply stores and for utilities (paypal digital gifts codes as a utility for some reason and gets 5 points back.) I have the chase ink plus card which has a $95 annual fee but allows me to transfer the points to Southwest. So the Best Buy gift card for $150 earned 750 Southwest points.

We are building credit. 10 years ago we decided to do the Dave Ramsey program. We have had no credit not even a mortgage payment for the past 8 years. 2 years ago we needed a new car and with having 4 kids we wanted an SUV. We only had $12,000 saved up. We thought we could use that as a down payment and get a loan. With our credit scores of 550ish at the time. The only loans we could get was for 21% or higher interest. It was that moment that we realized we do need credit. Currently are scores are in the low 700's I'm trying to wait until they get closer to 750 to apply. We have the Capital one Quicksilver card that we use right now.

I love my Ink Plus, but sadly it is gone. There is the Ink Cash though. I believe you can still get 5x at office supply stores with that card.

Orders online for gift cards and paying with a gift card on bestbuy.com tend to get canceled. Some people have had luck but not many. I would say you need to go into the store.
