Disney Gift Card Deals

Ibotta has 5% back at Best Buy--it says it won't work on gift card purchases but does anyone know for sure? Would be great if you could use this with the Amex offer to buy Disney gift cards.

I used the $5 back off $100 a while back when I bought discount BB on eBay. I actually got only Disney GC and paid with a GC and still got the rebate back although it said not on GC, but I figure I'll give it a try.

Question. I have a ton of Mypoints to use. Are there any gift cards I can get through mypoints that I can use to then buy Disney cards?
They have Target, Best Buy, and WalMart, which all work. You would have to take the Wal-Mart cards to Sams (or Sams.com) to trade them in, but if you have a membership, Sams gives you $150 of Disney for $143.98. Target can only be used in the store with a gift card, and Best Buy can sometimes be bought online with a gift card. Both Sams and Best Buy charge postage if you buy online and have it shipped to you; only Best Buy lets you buy online and pick it up in the store.

Some people have had luck getting Best Buy rewards on purchases with a gift card, some have not. Best Buy and Target both give ShopKick walk in points near me, but Sams doesn't.

Anyone have experience ordering the $500 sams disney gift cards? They limit 1 per order, so I placed 3 orders, hoping they don't all cancel.

I've ordered them. I didn't have any issues, but they were very slow to ship.

Thanks for the head's up on the Amex BestBuy spend $250 get $25 back. I had this on three of my cards. I'm going to try it on one soon and then hold off on the others as several of you also mentioned combining with BF perhaps if I see something later I need/want for Xmas.

Thanks!
Heather

Best Buy Amex offer is now full.

I also used Twitter to get the Best Buy offer yesterday too! The offer itself wasn't on any of my cards. Unfortunately I only snagged it once as I wasn't sure we'd even use the offer. The most embarrassing part? I FORGOT Best Buy had gift cards! The thought never occurred to me. C'est la vie, at least I'll be able to use the offer once. The real kicker? We had a last minute addition to the trip so I ran over to Target and bought $250 in Disney gift cards yesterday to get the 5% off...

Questions about Best Buy's Mystery Reward certificate. I got one and I'm trying to figure out how best to approach using it. The certificate supposedly has a mystery value of $5-$500, but has to be scanned in store to reveal its value. Can I ask the cashier to scan the certificate first before having something to buy? and to be sure, can I use this certificate for Disney gift cards?

P.S. I already plan to use the Amex offer on a $250 Disney gift card and would like to put any additional value from the reward certificate onto the same card (unless, fingers crossed, the certificate is worth more than $250 and would exceed the $500 variable load limit).

Wow, I didn't realize that it would fill up that quickly!

Yes, I did exactly that. I wanted to know how much mine was so I would know how much to put on the Disney gift card I was buying it with along with some other rewards I had saved up.

So you presented the certificate to the cashier first and asked how much it was worth, then decided how much you wanted on the variable Disney gift card?

Yes, that is exactly what I did. She told me it was worth $5. I had two rewards and a couple small gift cards too. I used them all together with the mystery certificate and got a Disney gift card loaded with $40.

I haven't used mine yet but I noticed the instructions say to give it to a "blue shirt" to scan to find out how much your certificate is worth. I plan to find someone other than a cashier to scan so I don't have to wait in the checkout line.

I guess I didn't notice that on the certificate, but there was no line at check out anyways.

After I posted it dawned on me that I would have to stand in line anyway to pay so it doesn't really save me any time. I'll just go in with a plan for how to spend the reward no matter what the amount.

That's pretty much what I thought- plus I wanted to use my rewards before they expired too.

I guess you missed the second sentence of my original post, see below.

New Amex offer...Spend $250 at Best Buy, get $25 back. Hurry and add it to your card, as these offers can sometimes fill up quickly.

Just a reminder, many of the Disney hotels can be purchase through Orbitz or Expedia at 15 - 25% off, so buying gift cards at 10% off to pay for the hotel may not make sense. I know last summer Orbitz had the All Star resorts at 15% off (and that was off the Disney sale price), I only used gift cards because I got them by churning through ebay and Best Buy and was up to 30% off.
