I got an email this morning from SVM telling me that they have several gift cards on sale on ebay. So tempted to send them an email.....
Several of the gift cards are for gasoline.

Does BestBuy ever have $50 Disney GCs for shipping or is that only available in store? I've been watching and waiting. The $25's are available for shipping. Also, is there is a limit to how many I can/should purchase at a time? I typically purchase in store, but since I have BB GC and cash to use I thought I'd try purchasing online this time.

Thank you for putting those thoughts succinctly, and in a way that SVM will understand. I will get to work on that!

Target announced its holiday plans today.
First - they will be selling Target gift cards for 10% off on Dec. 4, and they will take $25 off sales of $100 in the month of December.
It remains to be seen whether that $100 can be Disney gift cards, but it is something to watch for.

Has anyone bought gift cards from Sam's Club with a Discover Card? On their website it says gift cards are an exception but I'm curious if anyone has gotten the 5% back.

How are you getting Rapid Rewards points? Just by purchasing the tickets on their vacation site? Think I missed something.
Using a travel cc like SWA visa or a Chase Sapphire that is a 1:1 transfer partner with SW. Not sure about shopping portals.

.....Only issue I can see is if I needed more than 6 days on a ticket and then wanted to upgrade I might only be able to do that at the parks or resort. That might mess up FP plans....anyone know if these can be upgraded by phone beforehand?
....
I don't think you can upgrade an AP by phone, think it can only be done in the park. That does interfere with making FP+ if not able to upgrade till you are there, but for me I was thinking I'd like the savings.

Southwest Vacations doesn't participate in the Rapid Rewards Shopping...I just checked :(
Well, I was thinking since it was a southwest thing that you would get points, but hadn't checked it out, just thought it made sense, lol. Sorry, guess getting rewards points is out, darn it. Unless using a SW cc to pay, then you'd get the rr pts.

They did have the $50's for shipping about a month ago. I've watched since then, saw the $25's go to in store only, and then back to both choices, but the $50's have only been in store pick up since then. I think it's 5 of each at a time in one order. But, I think you can make more than one order in a day. Plus, you can get ebates or swagbucks if you do purchase online so that's a few extra dollars savings. I don't want to pay shipping so I like to go in store when I'm going to be near the store for pick up. I did $250(fifties) and $125(twenty fives) last time. I was short like a dollar or two which I put on my cc and had no problems or needing to add an item to prevent cancelling.

I read that whole thread last night and looks like I would have to renew my AP with it in person and I'm not planning a trip during the renewal period. I'll need to do some math and budgeting for next year as I haven't even started. I've been busy getting gc for my reservation deposits!
Does anyone know if renewing the AP is cheaper than buying one outright? Is there a discount on that?

Yes, there is a discount on an AP renewal. I believe it is 15%.

Thanks!!!!

Argh they make this so hard. While the upgrade would be nice the renewal discount and using discounted gc's make that more lucrative. I miss the days of easy stacking.
I am trying to figure out which is best for me right now too: renewing or buying new AP. I was going to renew while we are down so that I can use myw tickets to upgrade. But now I found out that I can buy new APs while there instead to use in March so I think I am going to do that so I have an expiration date 5 months later with the extra month promotion going on now too. Fortunately I will be there in person so I can use the myw tickets and my gift cards to cover the cost of the upgrade. I think for us it's worth it to buy the new ones because we will hopefully be able to get another trip out of the APs which is more valuable than the renewal discount.

I'm the only one with an AP for my group although I could have gotten one for DD- I just didn't plan that well.
However my one AP has gotten me in 2016 3 memory makers, 3 trip park admissions, $500 AP discount on my CR stay - there were no other discounts available, and the park discounts not to mention fun stuff like the AP food & wine and flower & garden gifts which I love. After paying the $680 renewal I got back roughly $1770 in product so the one is way worth it.

What I figured was I will renew my AP at $680 with the 10% off target discount cards for oop $612 - or less as I have about $100 in "free" target gc and about $300 in fuel reward disney gc at 14% off. I'd love to use one of those tix for upgrade to really put my savings over the top however won't be there In person for the renewal period. but it's more lucrative to renew the AP at that rate using discounted gc for about 25% off the rack AP rate.

I will buy 3 of these discounted tix for a savings of $250ish with cash from my vacay fund but paying on my travel cc to get the airline points which should almost be enough for a one-way to Orlando with plans to use them next fall as we are only planning one trip as a family. If an impromptu trip comes up I can upgrade these ticket for APs for the rest of my family when there utilizing discounted gc's for the difference and getting that face value savings.

This way im maintaining that great renewal discount which is superior to upgrading To a new AP as I've found one AP discounts for a group can be very lucrative. But still have a chance to get additional annual passes for the rest of my family if our vacation plans change.
