Disney Gift Card Deals

This is still working with the "filler" item though, right? I was hoping to combine my SB ecards onto a regular card by ordering online. I planned to do it when I order some other things I need from Target that I'll be paying for with my redcard, so I hope it will work.

As of last week, I can confirm it works. However, rules seem to be pretty fluid lately, so there's always a chance this may change at any moment.

...

@Minnie368 - I attempted to purchase a gift card similar to you, although mine never shipped. Long story short, I was able to get my money (eBay bucks) refunded. I think you have enough evidence that they will side with you, and I think they are much more inclined to side with the purchaser anyway. I hope you can get it resolved quickly!
I know this comment wasn't meant for me, but I'm interested to hear your story that you were able to get your money refunded! I was hoping to get my item that I purchased, a $450 gc for $400, or the value of that so $450. But maybe the best I can hope for is the $400, if I don't receive the gc in the mail, but definitely want that!
Sounds like you're getting scammed by the seller. For the seller to win a dispute, they just have to show that the item was delivered to your zip code. So they randomly chose an address and probably sent an empty envelope. If you have proof that they didn't actually send it to your address, you might have some recourse.
That seems too easy for them to scam me then. How easy to mail to any other address in my zip code and then just keep the money I paid them, that doesn't seem right or go with their guarantee. I do have a print out of the log from the post office. It has the tracking number provided to me by the seller, and it shows that item was delivered to a different street name and number than mine and different than listed in my ebay invoice.
Plus, in my purchase history, it shows the item as being delivered on Saturday, Oct 15th BUT was shipped on Monday, Oct 17th. That makes no sense at all. I've attempted to contact the seller twice and nothing. I'm still trying to be hopeful it may show up, and waiting for tomorrow's mail delivery and Monday's, just in case it really went into shipment on Monday the 17th and is still on the way. But, that's probably wishful thinking. I have a friend who works at that post office who thinks maybe the seller sent another package to someone else but put their tracking number on my item and thinks I should give that benefit of the doubt just in case, but then pursue thru ebay money back guarantee after that. It wasn't even mailed from the town the seller had in their listing. I don't know, I may only wait thru tomorrow, we'll see.

How long do AMEX offers take to post? I stopped at Home Depot the other day to use the $15 off $75 purchase offer.

Generally 2-3 days. I got this one in a reasonable amount of time. Did you get the email after the purchase?

I did before I even made it to the car... It took a few days to go through, it was under pending, and posted yesterday with 10/19 as the date, which was also the date my statement closed.

I had also signed up for the 10% back on cell phone bill offer, and that credit posted with my bill payment, so that made me curious about the Home Depot offer.

@Minniekins - Maybe the comment WAS for you and I got confused?! Anyhow, the only money you can get refunded is what you paid, not the value. I just followed the steps on eBay regarding not receiving my item...I hope you are able to get it resolved!

PS to @Minniekins - IIRC, the first step is to contact the seller to try and resolve. In that email I stated all the facts about what had occurred up to that point (we had communicated prior and I was assured that I would be receiving my GC, which never happened) and I stated what I wanted (a refund). This way there is a detailed account on record that eBay sees and the seller must respond to, or not - in which case eBay steps in.

@MommaBerd
Ah, okay, lol. Well as long as I get my money back that's what important! I've tried to contact him twice. The second time was Tuesday evening explaining what I saw in eBay and that nothing had been delivered and that the tracking actually was attached to an entirely different address than mine. No answer at all to that message. I'll be sending another 'contact seller' later today or tomorrow and then contacting eBay after that if still no response. I'm not sure if I should mention that I'll be going to eBay for help in resolving or not.

If you have a Meijer near you, starting this week there is a reward for $3/$50 dining, retail, entertainment and gaming gift cards limit 10 per account (6% savings) that is running until 12/24. Oftentimes they have an mperk coupon that you can stack with the dea or check in store at the gift card rack for weekly specials. This week there is an mperk for $5/$50 Ruby Tuesday and I don't know what the in store special is but the last 2 weeks it was $5 ONYO when you bought $50 in dining. HTH someone!

So, don't think this has been mentioned here. And, though this is not a gift card deal, the thread is about various ways we can save for or on our disney trips. There is a new deal for tickets that Southwest vacations is offering, time available to purchase runs from 10/3 - 11/30, 2016. It's similar to a recent deal that Parksavers had going for some months. Hopefully the links are okay to post, I thought it was.

Although it mentions having a local Orlando resort reservation, there is an option for ticket only. Instead of searching under the Flight+hotel option, search under "activities". This is on the left side of the page under "Search Vacations and Save". The deal is buy 3 day Hopper, get 3 days free, essentially a 6-day hopper, and it is $368. The same ticket directly thru the Disney website is $451, that's a nice savings!
Although it lists travel dates, Disney tickets do not actually expire. Though I have purchased my AP already, with my Disney gc's which was great!, I may buy myself a 6 days hopper, saving $83 and then upgrade that in the future to another AP. I can take that $83 and spend that on a gift card buying at Target with redcard and save a little, paying the redcard then on the way out at the customer service desk.

These tickets can be linked to MDE and can be upgraded.

I was checking out what I could get with my Am Ex points this morning and found that they now have $50 target cards for 7143 points. Not the best since most things are 100 points per $1.00, but it's another option.

Thanks for posting this. FYI - Southwest Vacations is on several rebate portals. Giving Assistant is doing 2% back. Think I might go ahead and spring for tickets even though we won't be going for about 14 months. I assume the purchase will code as travel? A bonus for those who are trying to meet minimum spend on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

Thank you for finding this! I did check, and we CANNOT use Southwest gift cards for this - Southwest Vacations has separate gift cards.

Even though the price per day goes down the longer you stay, this is still a nice savings.

Thanks for checking, I was about to check the same exact thing, it would've made a good deal even better. :sad1:

Thanks for the reminder about the rebate portals, I didn't think of that, lol. Guess I'm a bit out of the habit these days. I haven't used Giving assistant before though I must have signed up there at some time, as I get email from them. Also, a nice chunk of rapid rewards points so that's cool, too.

I like this deal for saving a good amount on an upgrade to an AP. At this time the savings is $83, when this ticket is brought up to current gate price of $451. But if the AP goes up again by the time I want to use and upgrade, the savings will be even a bit more which is great!

Oh, just in case you aren't going to read the linked Dis thread, they will send out the barcode to link to MDE about 65 days prior to your trip. Most people would rather get the tickets sooner than later, so if your trip is farther out, when it asks for your trip dates, just put in and early November date and they will send the tickets out by the next morning. They really don't need to be used by that date, but I think it gives peace of mind knowing they are all set and ready for when you can set up your FP+, and they won't expire before you use them.

I saw this and haven't had time to follow up so thanks for posting. I have my AP and it renews in March. I'm unsure if I'll do that. We aren't planning as many trips next year but when I did the math from our annual Oct 2 week trip I literally saved the difference between the AP and park ticket when I accounted for the AP room rate I got, 20% merch and the food discount, plus photopass. I also had some spontaneous trips and it was nice to have that AP there already. The other 2 trips I took in that pass ended up being heavy and I had photopass on them all - huge win for us bc I don't think to take pics while busy having fun!

Only issue I can see is if I needed more than 6 days on a ticket and then wanted to upgrade I might only be able to do that at the parks or resort. That might mess up FP plans....anyone know if these can be upgraded by phone beforehand?
Bummer about not being able to use gc but I've got a SW and Chase Visa so either one will get me good rewards on this. I'm about tapped on my miles after last trip anyways lol.

Is Southwest Vacations a shopping portal for Southwest which would extend my frequent flyer points?
Rapid Rewards Shopping is Southwest's shopping portal and yes, making a points-earning purchase on their portal would ensure your RR points do not expire for another 24 months.
