Are any reward programs giving cash back for purchasing gift cards on eBay any more? I've clicked through SwagBucks each time, but nothing pending as of yet. I know eBates and Rapid Rewards are out.

MyPoints was as of a month ago, but I'm sot so sure now. I placed a couple orders this week & haven't seen them post yet.

Top Cashback, I think, still does. However, several users here have noted TCB being flaky in terms of credits for sites like Raise.

Well, the minimum you should settle for is 5%. I think typical will be in the 8-10% neighborhood. @MinMou gave you a good rundown of the ways you can currently save on Disney GCs. I'd like to add that you can be on the lookout for ways to combine promos. For example, right now, the Chase Freedom card is offering 5% earnings on purchases made at wholesale clubs. So if you went to a Sam's Club or BJ's and bought your Disney cards at their already discount price, you'd earn an extra 5% back, bringing you close to 10% savings.

Best Buy's point-of-sale system will allow the cards to go through. The trick is to find a cashier that will. I've had a lot of hit-and-miss success at my local BBYs. If your store is nearby, I'd try anyway. If the cashier doesn't know the manager's wishes or you can convince the cashier to let the system decide if it's allowed or not, you're golden. Should you get shot down, you can always try again on a different day at a different time and hope for a different cashier.

I've read different information on BBY's "forum" website as to what is and isn't allowed to be purchased with BBY gift cards. Universally, it's accepted that "open loop" cards like Visa, MC, and AmEx are forbidden, but some company feedback says that "closed loop" cards should be AOK.

While I'll agree PP is very frustrating, I think your problem here is whose name the phone registered in. Example, DGF's cell phone is part of my Sprint family plan account and the account is in my name. I have the caller ID for her phone set to her name. Her phone number is listed in her PP account as her number. However, when I ran into a verification problem like yours with her account I was getting the same message. PP somehow knows that phone isn't registered in her name. Creepy I know, but my best guess is that's your problem. Unless of course you're phone is registered in your name in which case I have no idea.

In this case, it is registered to me. So I have no clue. I usually just have them call me at home but they didn't give that option last night.

really number one rule never call the store about gift cards. just go and if they say no just go to another store. most cashiers dont care. even had a manger training a new cashier and didnt say anything when i used a gift card.

I havn't seen any history on my ebay bucks page for at least a week now. I should have about $50 coming from last quarter plus I ordered some things this month. Am I losing it? I am looking at My Ebay -> Summary -> EBay Bucks. No history just a couple of adds. Strange as I got the 10% bucks promo. Anyone else have this issue?

This happened to me while I was in "PayPal Jail". When I got my PayPal account restored the ebay bucks reappeared. Not sure if it was coincidence or not.
Some details on PayPal Jail. I got the dreaded account locked please send your id and explanations for your purchases to PayPal while I was trying to cash out for my trip in July. I ignored the email set up a second account tied to a little used account and cashed out what I could without PPDG. I was afraid to send my id based on previous posters stories of being permanently locked. When Ebay stopped allowing GC to GC I figured I had little to lose and sent my cable bill and short explanations of why I bought the gift cards. Home Depot for a weed wacker, Sears for air conditioner and BB for vacation. A few hours later I was out of jail with a thank you for explaining email.

That's exactly what I was worried about. Thankfully it was just my browser cache. Had to clear it a couple of times though. I should use Chrome instead of Firefox. Thanks for the reply.

TCB is totally flaky IMHO I won't bother with them again.... over the past year I've had more purchases NOT post than post with them, the last one was a special $10 offer they emailed to me, I used it,and nothing. fool me once.... Like I said, I'm not a gambler- I'm satisfied with smaller deals at warehouse/grocery options for now. 10% is better than no % lol

iConsumer has always given me 1.3% on my gift card purchases through eBay. You can only earn $20 a month through eBay purchases so just monitor that. I have been using them for a while and have received 2 checks in the mail so far. They are very reliable and I have never had to contact anyone for any issues.

Anyone else in the verification loop and only receiving the text option? Why am I not receiving the phone call option?? Still telling me that my cell phone number isn't registered to me so 'try again'.

ETA: Was able to buy Lowes from SVM with no verification needed. I did use new GC (from yesterday) to pay.

I checked the article, and saw it was referring to comments to it. Some people are still able to use new cards, but it is all YMMV now.

I had used up most of my iConsumer allowance earlier this month, so I went with Giving Assistant (1.2%) for this cycle and got notification today of my Wednesday purchases posting.
