Disney Gift Card Deals

Just a thought on the newer eBay gift cards working for now… When eBay first came out with the 2k/60 limit lots of people were able to go way over that total for the first few days, but eBay eventually closed it. I wouldn't count on being able to use newer eBay gift cards through October 13. They may continue to work, but it is a gamble.

That's my concern too. I was able to cycle $100 in eBay purchased yesterday three times between PPDG and Best Buy. As soon as my final $10 promo card comes through I'm cashing out for $130 in Disney at Best Buy and calling it good. Between credit card rewards, promo cards and eBucks, I earned $68 on my $100 investment.

I keep trying to do the BB deal on ebay (150 +15) and it keeps saying 'please log into your account' (for paypal). I log in and it goes back to the same screen. Any tips on how to work through this?

According to my spreadsheet, I have $300 in gift cards that "expire" today, meaning I bought them on July 17. I have $100 in Target and another $50 in Best Buy so I was thinking about trying the "$150/$15" offer from BB, netting $15 in eBucks and another $15 in Disney money. I would have to run to Target and buy an eBay card and then out to Best Buy too. That would be a quick 20% return on my "free" money...but PPDG still has me worried. I might be able to stop at our other BB tonight since I will be on that end of town, but I have never done GC-GC there. My plan would be to get my current BB and Target ($150 worth) turned into eBay, then buy the $150 BB from PPDG, and then take that to the other BB tonight and convert it into Disney. How long does the $15 bonus code take to arrive? If it will be a while, then perhaps I need to rethink this plan...I do not want to hold on to anything from PPDG longer than I have to.

Ebay has officially released their terms for the temporarily allowing gift card to gift card purchases:

http://pages.ebay.com/giftcard/faqs.html

It is important to note the following: "Gift cards purchased after August 23, 2016, are not eligible for this temporary exemption."

While people have been reporting they were able to use ebay gift cards purchased after August 23 to buy gift cards yesterday, that can change at any moment. So if you plan on trying to do one last churn by converting to ebay and back, take all this into consideration.

My heart just skipped a beat after reading this!

Thanks! That means I don't have to worry about running all over town to convert my Target and BB into eBay. I'm not going to risk taking $150 of "Disney" money and getting stuck with eBay money instead.

I wanted to post my experience today in case anyone is thinking of "double dipping" with the PPDG Best Buy cards. I purchased 2 of the $150 digital cards last night. Took them to Best Buy this morning and easily converted them to $130 Disney and $200 Ebay ($30 profit with the bonus codes). I was nervous about the cashier having to enter each card manually but the barcode scanned perfectly and he thought nothing of me buying gift cards with gift cards. Immediately came home and attempted to buy 2 of the $100 Best Buy deals. I was stuck in Paypal verification mode and when I did get verified it said "this promotion does not qualify with one or more items in your cart" when I tried to enter the gift card number. After about an hour of trying off and on, I just decided to try my husbands Paypal account instead of mine and it went through perfectly. So, as of now, you can use "new" Ebay gift cards to buy gift cards but I would unload them quick while it's working. Hope that helps.

Try a different browser. I was always getting hung up here and switched from Safari to Chrome, and it worked. Make sure cookies are enabled first.

Edited: Or try from a different computer.

I just got back from Best Buy. I used the $100 plus $10 to buy a Ebay gift card. I put $120 on it, so $10 of my own money, I still had $30 in Ebay gift cards to get rid of.

I logged on to ebay when I got home and used my new Ebay gift card with my other Ebay gift card to buy the $150+ $15 best buy gift card, No problem.

I think there may be a limit of 5 of the BB GCs with the bonus. It appears you can buy 5 $150/$15 bonus and 5 $100/$10 bonus. Might be why some are getting errors.

I am on the phone with Paypal and getting no where. They claim it's a secutiry feature and that they can see I have attempted to purchase them 30 times, and I explained that I would have not attempted 30 times if it went through the 2nd time. They are claiming it's not going through due to a risk of the seller....yet THEY are the seller. I keep going around and around with them. This is frustrating!

If anyone is thinking of jumping on the BB GC+bonus deal, you'll want to do so ASAP because when I looked this morning the $100+10 and $150+15 deals were all over 2/3 sold out. Throw in the eBucks Bonus, and this is a great deal. I don't think it'll last through today.

I'm trying to determine how much $ I can use in GCs before hitting the $2k/60 days limit. Am I only counting 30 days back, or do I need to go 60 days back?

You have to look back 60 days to see how much GCs you've redeemed, then subtract that from $2k. That's how much you have available to spend with GCs today. The 60-days is a rolling limit, so if you spend whatever available amount you have in your cap today, you'll have to count 60-days from your oldest transaction for the amount from that transaction to open up again. This will affect when and how you'll want to "cash out."

Yeah, I got the $150 this morning, went to Best Buy at lunch, bought $150 ebay card, then tried to buy another $150 BB card and got locked out by PayPal. After a phone call and verification texts it finally went through, but I was already back at work. I'll try one more time after work if it hasn't sold out

OK, it says I've spent $2250 since July 29. So I would have to wait for the $450 from July 29th to roll off before I spend more, right? Or did the "count" start over with this new 30-day window?

I'm puzzling over what 30-day window you're referring to. If you mean what I'm thinking, I don't think this 30-day (or however long it is) "grace period" when eBay is allowing GC>GC again resets your $2k/60 days limit. So yes, I think you'll have to wait for the amounts redeemed in some older transactions to roll off.

A little bit unrelated but had to share with my Budget friends: I was caller 102 on the radio today for a $100 Disney Gift Card and chance for a trip to Aulani! With my Disney luck lately (Over $2,000 worth of excursions comped from our cruise last month and a $220 gift card sent from DVA that shouldn't have been right after that) I have a feeling I will win the Aulani trip :lmao:

I've been following this thread but haven't posted in a while because I've been cashed out and ready since early August for our first WDW trip next week and really haven't had anything of value to contribute. I must say, however, that it has put a smile on my face reading this thread the past 2 days. It reminds me of the good ole days (well almost, cough, Target, cough). It's a shame it's only going to be short lived but I'm very happy for all of you who were stuck with eBay cards to come across such a grand way to cash out!

Same here, I haven't bought a second eBay card yet because it won't even let me get to the payment screen. The fixed it the first time, now they're telling to wait 24 hours, oh well
