Has anybody ever tried buying anything through the Best Buy Ebay store?

On the ebay store, it says you can return items bought in-store. I was thinking about purchasing something online through the ebay store with an ebay GC and then exchanging it in store for a Disney GC

Edit: I'll be the guinea pig and I'm going to try this out. Will report back as soon as I get my item in.

Hello Everyone! I am new here but not new to saving for Disney trips.
I have been stalking this thread for the past week and haven't seen this tip mentioned. :fish: Ebay normally has one day $15/$xx coupon sale once a month, I use them to buy Walgreen GCs. You can use a Walgreen GC to purchase any store GCs (excludes Visa, MasterCard, amex, etc.) I have never had any problems buying Disney GCS. the pin pad is normally behind the screen so the cashier doesn't even know which tender you are using. Hope this helps!

I was wondering if the same thing would work with the Target eBay store. I'll be interested in hearing about your experience with Best Buy. I don't think I'd do any kind of volume this way.

Interesting! We've had several reports in the past about Walgreens not accepting GCs for GCs. Perhaps it's a bit more YMMV than we knew.

Update: Ebay GC worked for the purchase of a pair of $250 earphones. Even better is that you can pick up the new items in store, so I wouldn't have to wait for shipping :) I'm going to head over there after I get off from work today. I'm wondering if I should wait a bit before returning said item or just go back in today to a different Best Buy location that is closer to my house.

Things are looking good :drive:

I'd be curious when you last tried this? I don't believe you've been able to purchase gift cards with gift cards at Walgreens in a good long time. Seems to have changed in late 2012.

I have done it 3 times so far. once in December, February and April. I know 100% they will not work on CC GCs but like target, a store GC will work. Also, If you have any register rewards, those will work on any kind of GC at walgreens, Kroger and target. the trick is to have one item linked to every register reward.

For those who have been banned or severely limited by PayPal-were you only doing PPDG transactions for purchases? I've been buying a lot more on eBay lately (train tracks for my son, some clothes for me) but have been using PPDG as well...just curious!

The lockouts have only been through PPDG transactions. I've been churning a lot through eBay without PPDG and no issues.

I used PPDG among many but I believe PPDG is what caused the issues

I bought a printer from the Best Buy ebay store. We needed a printer, the type I bought had a good rating and the Best Buy price really was the best buy. They offered free store pickup or they would ship it for a fee. I wanted the printer right away, so I did free pick-up.

I have had great service at both stores near me, but I don't think you could do more than one exchange without raising eyebrows, if that scheme works. But I am curious to hear how things work for you.popcorn::

I'm very anxious. I received the invoice for the order and it says I used Paypal as payment for the item :rolleyes2 which is very interesting. It has me a bit worried due to all the problems we've been receiving from Paypal. I wonder what the procedure is for a straight refund... Would they put it back on an Ebay gift card or a Best Buy gift card?

Did you look at their return policy? Target Store on ebay has as its return policy: All Paypal purchased items that are returned to a Target store will be refunded to cash.

So, check what Best Buy's policy is...

It's very generic on BB ebay...

- The original receipt or packing slip is required for all returns and exchanges. Items purchased from Best Buy on eBay are eligible for returns or exchanges by bringing the product into a Best Buy store located within the United States or by mail.

- You can return or exchange almost everything within 15 days of date of delivery for a full refund. Simply bring your item(s) to us with all contents and packaging, proof of purchase and ID, and we will process your return or exchange.

Let us know how it goes. Certain stores when I have purchased with PayPal they wouldn't let me return the item to the store but I had to do the whole thing online and ship it back.

Curious to see how this works for you. It would also be important to make sure you buy something that doesn't have a restocking fee.

I figured this might be my worst scenario which is fine by me as I reached my Ebay bucks limit already for this quarter. I don't mind shipping it back. I would find it a bit odd if they have me do this as I picked it up in store.

I just make sure to not open the item to avoid the restocking fee. A couple months I opened an apple watch to try it out to see if I liked it. I liked the watch and found it cheaper through another retailer. I returned the opened apple watch no problem, no questions asked, no restocking fee at BB. The only item you absolutely can't open are the games and movies IIRC.
