Disney gets sponsor for Great Movie Ride

Yes, it sounds like a good fit, but if the article is accurate all it sounds like that will be done to "update" the ride is a new video in the queue and a new one for the finale... far from the refurb this ride needs...

I think eventually they will refurb it. It's good that they have a sponsor in place that is willing to put money into the attraction that should lead to good things in the future.

Please correct my ignorance but why is that a possible refurb can only happen with a sponsor? If i owned a store, i can't imagine saying i won't update the lighting until someone came in and gave me half the money.

Aside from branding (like all the sports stadiums today) it seems odd that disney couldn't handle the iconic ride by themselves. They already have a treasure trove of movies to work with.

I guess it just lessens the amount of $$ they have to shell out to update their product?!? I wish my business could run that way.

It's not that it can only happen with a sponsor it's that it's more likely that it will with a sponsor.
