I will be traveling to Disneyworld in August for a business event and staying at The Yacht Club.

I have a 3-4 hours of free time for the four days I'm there. It is sometimes morning, afternoon or evening.

What can I do for the limited time that I have to myself without paying an arm and leg? I'm not with my children so I don't have any need or desire to go on any rides. I heard Downtown Disney is worthwhile but don't know what else is an option.

I am not opposed to paying a park entrance fee, but I would prefer not to spend $100 for only three hours.

Thanks for your help...

DTD - is a good way to spend some time exploring. You could take in a movie and there are plenty of resturants.
Board Walk - is another option, especially in the evening as there are preformers around that time of day. You could go into Jellyrolls a dueling piano bar or go to the ESPN Club and catch a game.
ESPN/WWS - is another location that has live sporting events.
Monorial Tour - take a resort tour of the CR, PR, and GFR around Bay Lake.

Check to see when the parks are offering Extra Magic Evening/Morning hours when it coordinates with your conference breaks; I'd definitely spring for park admission and take in as many of the shows and signature attractions as you can! You'd be surprised how quickly a single rider can move in and off of the rides, and either starting the morning at rope drop or ending the evening with whatever the park offers (MK--firework show, DHS--fantazmic, and EPCOT--Illuminations is well worth it. In August the EMH may extend park hours to midnight or later, so GO FOR IT :cool2:The afternoon breaks can be used for some pool time and a walk around the grounds and some purchases for family at home. You can walk over to DHS or take the boat. Just be sure and ask the trip times so you aren't late. I used to travel on business alone alot, and have never regretted missing a few hours sleep to take in whatever the city I was staying at offered;)You're so lucky WDW is on your business travel agenda, so make the most of it.

You may want to ask the coordinators if they have after 4 park passes. Sometimes conventions and businesses can get special park passes for attendees after the work is done. Even if park passes aren't available, there are plenty of other options.

AMC Dine-in Theatre, lunch/dinner and a movie
Hoop-De-Doo-Review at Ft Wilderness
Horseback riding or archery lessons also at Ft Wilderness
Tour AKL and see the animals
Movies by the pool/on the beach - all WDW resort hotels have them
Mini golf at Fantasia Gardens or WinterSumerland
Tour monorail resorts (collect transportation cards)
Shopping at DTD, boat ride to POR or PORFQ
Hang out at the resort - Stormalong Bay is awesome
