It is a macaroon. They have them in a few dessert cases around the parks. I recently saw them at the Writer's Stop in Hollywood studios. The CM wrapping them told anouther guest they are made with almond flour.

Thanks for the info. Did you try one? I'm wondering what flavor they are.

LOL - I also ate one of my POFQ beignets before I remembered to take a picture of them! It happens! ;)

Here are a couple of links from some Disney food blogs about the macarons (I'm not affiliated with either of these sites):

All the macarons I've had "in the real world" have all been a variety of flavors, but lightly so. They're generally just lightly flavored and sweet. I love the texture! Can't wait to seek these out in WDW. :p

Thank you for letting us know that the macaron is available at Writer's Stop. I know Les Halles sells them but they are not Mickey-shaped. Still hoping the OP comes back with details as I am particular about my macaron flavor. :)

ETA: I didn't see the later conversation. Thanks, pepperandchips, for the link. Looking forward to trying the lemon creme filled macaron myself. They must have been sold out when we visited Writer's Stop last or I would have gotten one for sure!

Oh yum on the. Earl of sandwich : ) my favorite is that yummy holiday sandwich. I plan on having one tomorrow for lunch as we just arrived today in Las Vegas and they have a Earl on sandwich in the planet Hollywood hotel. This food thread really makes me crave the food pictures I see ...

Thanks for the links. I must try this because I love macarons, but probably not from the Writer's Stop because the reviews indicate that they aren't the best at that location. Goofy's it is.

You can also get them at the bakery in France for a more "authentic" taste.

Onion Ring Basket- The onion rings at Flame Tree are very good.

DH had the Pork Sandwich: "Layers of delicious, smoked, pulled Pork piled high in a fresh, soft Bun, served with refreshing Coleslaw." He subbed out the Coleslaw for fruit instead. After adding a ton of BBQ sauce, he said that he liked the sandwich. It was satisfying, but not anything special.

I had the Ribs and Chicken Combo: "The best of both worlds; Ribs and Chicken, direct from our Kitchen's Smokehouse. This special combination platter is served with our homemade baked Beans and Coleslaw." Again, subbed out fruit for the coleslaw because I hate coleslaw. I thought the chicken and ribs were good, though the ribs were cooked a little more than I prefer. They were tasty, though, and hit the spot after a busy morning at AK. I wasn't a fan of the beans. I offered them to DH who ate some, but did not finish them.

Dessert was the typical Chocolate Mousse, which is tasty, but generic. Overall, we would definitely go back to Flame Tree, but it isn't a must-do. Those onion rings are the bomb, though.

I love all these pictures - they really help us plan our ADR's and how we'll use our snack credits.

I'll try to post some when I get back from my trip in September!
