Coming next time...Raglan Road and Citricos

Continuing with Fig Goes Sig (and Food & Wine)

Raglan Road (lunch, 10/29/11) - Figment really liked Raglan Road and would definitely go back!
Appetizers
RR_Calamari.jpg

Calamari City - Calamari is one of Figment's favorite appetizers, so he really enjoyed sampling all over the place in Disney World. Raglan Road's was very good!

RR_HeavenonEarth.jpg

Heaven on Earth - surprisingly sweet

RR_ScallopForest.jpg

Scallop Forest - Figment really liked the presentation (and flavor) of the scallops

Entrees
RR_FishChips.jpg

Fish & Chips - brought table side in an upright basket and then poured onto the dish

RR_PieintheSky.jpg

Pie in the Sky (chicken and leek pie)

RR_SodtheStew.jpg

Sod the Stew (beef stew) - Figment liked the stew so much he asked for the recipe (when we got home)!

Desserts
RR_DundonsDelight.jpg

Dundon's Delight (raspberry pavlova) - kind of like a meringue; very light

RR_StrawberryAppleCrumble.jpg

Strawberry and apple crumble

RR_DunbrodyKiss.jpg

Dunbrody Kiss - Figment could not wait to have a full-sized one after trying it at Kevin Dundon's Food & Wine seminar. It is soooo good!

Citricos (dinner, 10/29/11) - overall, Figment wasn't to sure what to make of Citricos. It looks pretty and the food was pretty good, but it was very slow and it almost seemed like the servers and kitchen weren't in sink (e.g., the appetizer plates were cleared and new silverware was put out and then it was another twenty minutes before the entrees appeared).
Appetizers
C_Arancini.jpg

Arancini - Figment really likes risotto so he had high hopes for these. Sadly, the cheese flavor really over powered everything else (Figment likes arancini at Via Napoli much better)

C_BlueCrabPave.jpg

Blue Crab Pave - Figment liked this "salad" - lots of crab meat and some capers, yum!

C_SauteedShrimp.jpg

Sautéed Shrimp - the sauce was really good for bread dipping after the shrimp were gone

Entrees
C_RedSnapper.jpg

Pan-Seared Red Snapper

C_Swordfish.jpg

Swordfish - the fish was very firm, but the pasta was kind of chewy. Figment had never had swordfish before, so he's glad he ordered it, but it's not something he'd order again

C_VealShank.jpg

Braised Veal Shank - Figment had send the first one back because it was cold on the outside, but the second one had really good flavor and was hot.

Desserts
C_Gelato.jpg

Tasting of Gelato

C_BerryGratin.jpg

Seasonal Berry Gratin

C_BananaTart.jpg

Warm chocolate banana tart - Figment has to admit that he ordered this primarily because he wanted the chocolate "crown". The dessert itself was pretty good, but the crown was the best part!

Coming next time...Brown Derby and Flying Fish!

Continuing with Fig Goes Sig (and Food & Wine)

Brown Derby (lunch, 10/30/11) - Figment had a lot of fun trying to figure out the caricatures on the wall. He'd never been to the Brown Derby, so we decided to have a late lunch here and get the Fantasmic Dining package.
Appetizers
BD_BreadButter.jpg

Bread and butter - more of the Hawaiian sea salt

BD_CobbSalad.jpg

Cobb Salad - Figment had to try the iconic Cobb salad! This is how it looked when it's brought to the table...

BD_CobbSaladTossed.jpg

...And this is how it looks after it's tossed. It was pretty hard to tell what was what in the salad, except the avacados, after it was tossed. Figment liked the flavors, but wasn't to sure about the texture.

BD_Bisque.jpg

Lobster Bisque - it was okay, but Figment liked the one at Les Chefs better

BD_SpringRolls.jpg

Spring Rolls

Entree
BD_Salmon.jpg

Grilled Loch Duart Salmon

BD_Duck.jpg

Duck Two Ways - Figment really likes duck and he liked this dish

BD_PorkChop.jpg

Sterling Silver Pork Chop

Dessert
BD_Cobbler.jpg

Warm seasonal Fruit Cobbler

BD_GrapefruitCake.jpg

Grapefruit Cake - Being another one of the Brown Derby's signature dishes, Figment had to try it. It had an interesting flavor; Figment still isn't sure if he liked it or not

BD_ChocThreeWays.jpg

Chocolate Three Ways - Chocolate!

Flying Fish - After watching Fantasmic, Figment and company headed over to Flying Fish
Appetizers
FF_CrabCake.jpg

Crispy Maine Coast Jonah Crab Cake - Figment was very excited, two of his favorite apppetizers were on the menu: crab cakes and calamari. The crab cakes had a nice crispy outside and lots of crab on the inside

FF_Calamari.jpg

Calamari - Yum!

FF_ShrimpCocktail.jpg

Shrimp Cocktai

Entree
FF_PotatoWrappedSnapper.jpg

Potato-wrapped Red Snapper - One of Flying Fish's signature dishes.

FF_PotatoSnapperNoSauce.jpg

Potato-wrapped Red Snapper (Sauce on the side, spinich instead of leek fondue) - Figment tried this dish two ways: the traditional (previous picture) and with a few changes. He liked the fish and potato wrapping, but wasn't to fond of the sauce (he was glad it was on the side).

FF_Scallops.jpg

Oak-grilled Maine Diver Scallop - the scallops were really good and the risotto was really rich

Dessert
FF_BananaNapoleon.jpg

Caramelized Banana Napoleon

FF_PearCake.jpg

Spiced pear cake - looked really pretty, but this was probably Figment's least favorite dessert. The cake was pretty dense, but didn't have a lot of flavor (beside being bread-like).

FF_OntheBoardwalk.jpg

On the Boardwalk - This was probably the most fun dessert Figment had. There was a popcorn mousse (surprisingly good), a cherry-limeade-cicle (very tart), mini-oreo-like cookie, and pound cake "fries"

Coming next time...Via Napoli and California Grill
