Disney Food courts, Frustrating?

I was wondering if anyone shared my opinions on the Disney food courts. This is the only part of our Disney trips that I do NOT look forward to.

The process of waiting in multiple lines for each dish, having to balance bottle waters or refillable mugs. Then when that headache is done, you have to wait in another line to pay for your food. Maybe it’s because I am buying for 2 small kids, but it is HORRIBLE! Being clumsy doesn’t help either, I dropped my tray 3 times over the years. We are late risers, so eating breakfast at the resort is the only option. Now I hear they are not serving breakfast at the moderate sit downs….shezz! I guess its 11am donuts at the parks for us!

anyone else get frustrated by the resort food courts?

Even with adults it can be frustrating. I went with my in-laws and an aunt. Three of us were ready to check out and my father-in-law had to wait for his dish to be made (they had just run out with the person in front of him). He wanted the rest of us to check out and handed my mother-in-law his credit card. She couldn't use it to check out because it wasn't hers. So yes, it can be frustrating but I don't see how else Disney is going to get the volume of people through. The Pepper Market at Coronado Springs has a good system but people complain about the extra 10% fee added on. No matter what Disney does, someone is going to have issues with it.

For DH and I it is never a problem but in 06 we took our nieces, age 3 and 10, and it was very difficult to handle the food trays, 2 kids, finding a table and getting drinks.....but it also depends on how busy the CS is at the time.

Maya Grill at Coronado Springs serves a buffet breakfast. As of February 22, this will be the only moderate resort with a sit-down breakfast since Boatwrights at POR stops serving breakfast on that date. Shutters at CBR never served breakfast. POFQ does not have a sit-down restaurant.

(Disney does not run any of the restaurants at Coronado Springs.)

It used to be until I worked out a system. You do need 2 adults or an older child to sit with the little ones. Everyone can come into the food court area to tell me what they want. Then I send them back to a table to wait with either my husband or the eldest child. I order the food and it is better to get on line twice if I have too, then wait in the food area with four children and all those trays. (When my husband is with us then, I have the oldest child help me), but you do need another person to watch the little ones when you are on line.

I agree, the Disney food courts are like being at a mall food court at Christmas time. Too many people, too much noise(not relaxing). If you feel like traveling to one of the DVC resorts they will have a sit down breakfast of some sort or you could go to Downtown Disney. I know it is a hike, but it does give you an option.

This is true except for Saratoga Springs - The Turf Club does not serve breakfast.

At Downtown Disney the only breakfast option is Wolfgang Puck Express. This is a counter service restaurant although they do bring you the food.

There's also the House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch.

DTD area breakfast options are VERY limited. The only sit-down breakfast on Disney property anywhere near there will be at Olivia's at Old Key West.
