I am not the OP, but we did this exact celebration for our daughter's 8th birthday back in September. We had a choice of 3 different 2-hour time windows. We chose 7-9pm. We were staying at the Beach Club, so it worked out perfect going to World Showcase for the evening, then going back to the room after Illuminations. The Disney Florist did a GREAT job with this! Our daugther got 5 big presents, one each from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. There was also a balloon bouquet as well as a big banner hanging on the door to the balcony, and a light up Tinkerbell that was hanging on the mirror above the table. There were also feathers from Donald on the floor near the bathroom double sinks.
Some of things she received included: 15'' plush Mickey, beach towel, photo album, chocolate "cake", caramel corn, matchbox type car, salt water taffy, 4 dog bone shaped rice krispie treats, autographed photo of Mickey and Minnie, autographed book signed by Mickey, pin trading lanyard, a light up Mickey shaped lanyard, placemat, and perhaps one or two other things.
Was it worth $425? The items....not even close. The memories of watching our daughter going through all of that....can't put a price on it. I have no regrets, we'll never forget it. That made it so very much worth it!
I don't have pictures, but my wife recorded the whole thing. It's been a month and a half since her birthday, and we all still love watching the whole thing unfold.
One thing we did...the night of the surprise, my wife went back to the room ahead of us to "use the bathroom". She was ready and waiting when I walked in the room with our daugther to start recording her first reaction. She's still convinced it was really the characters that came and did all of it. Precious memories!
