Has anyone used Disney Floral and ordered any of the DVC arangments. Is it posible to buy the indivdual parts of the celebration.
I am looking to suprise my wife in Sept when we stay at SSR, and I like the door sash and special print but can I add those to a diffrent order since i dont need all the other stuff that comes with the celebration.

We have used them several times and over all the experience has been positive but expensive.

I suggest that you give them a call to see what's available.

My husband has used them many times. I usually spend my birthday in WDW and if he's not with me he sends Roses. This year in addition to the Roses he included a Buzz Lightyear Baloon. Ok...why you may say would a grown up man send his grown up wife a baloon? He's a big kid...and we both love the attraction. Only problem; when my 9 year old niece walked into the dark room she thought there was a man in the hall and screamed!! :rotfl2: For the rest of the week the kids played with Buzz.

I had wanted a door sash from one of the celebrations (not the DVC one) to pair-up with some balloons and a small plush in the room and was told by Disney floral "no, I couldn't get a door sash minus the rest...everyone would just want the sash without having to get the whole celebration package"

I would love to see a modified package available but as of now you need to get the whole celebration package if you want something special like the door sash.

I ended up ordering a balloon bouquet for the room which was a big hit for my DH's 50th. birthday. party: He had no idea he was missing out on the sash!

Peace.

Well I just called to confirm and was told they could not sell them separate. Oh well I guess I will have to look at doing a celebration and just sell off the stuff I don't want.

Thank You all for adding to this thread I appreciate all the feedback and look forward to traveling to SSR this September.

As a side note, online floral places like www.proflowers.com can deliver to the resorts. The flowers won't be in your room when you check in (they'll be avaialble for pickup from the front desk) but they are usually significantly cheaper.

I've ordered flowers through Disney Floral twice for my wife (first time was for our anniversary trip and the second time it was for our first DVC trip) and NEITHER time were the flowers in our room waiting for us like they said they would be.

Last two trips I went with ProFlowers. Would probably go with them again.

I will have to look in to that. I was hopping that they would put the flowers in to the room, it is our first DVC trip and I want to surprise my wife.
I will have to put some though in to this.

I asked about this on one of our recent trips. I order flowers from the Disney Florist every trip. I couldn't figure out why they'd be in the room on some trips, but not on others.

What I was told is that the runner who brings the flowers around to the rooms (a resort cast member, not someone from Disney Florist) will only leave them if there's luggage in the room or something to indicate that you've checked in and accepted the pre-assigned room. If not, they'll try back later. This may not be the policy at all resorts, but it's what we were told at SSR.

If we get in the room and they're not there, I just call the front desk and they usually send them right up. The runner will never even accept a tip from me.

When I thought back on this, it occurred to me that the trips when we found the flowers already in the room where in fact the ones when we'd either used Disney's Magical Express (our bags were left in the room while we were at the parks) or stays when our room was ready at check-in and we dropped some stuff in the room before heading out.

I believe the surprise packages where they decorate the room are different. They decorate these before check-in. You're obviously locked into accepted the pre-assigned room though.

That probably makes sense.

Yes, I've had no problems with simply calling down and having them brought up (they are usually extremely fast on getting them up there).

I will say that the pixie dust on the rose you get from Disney Floral is quite nice.

The surprise package is only delivered on the 2nd day of your stay, not the first and not before check in. I guess they don't want the Front Desk to mess up and put the wrong party in the surprise room.

We have done it a couple of times. One time they left the empty bags and boxes in the room when they set up the room, the other time everything was perfect.

good to hear the celebrations are nice. I will have to consider one in the future or onvince one of our guest in NOVEMBER to do it for us.

For my upcoming birthday trip, DH wanted to get the Princess celebration but I can't agree to spending $500 on it! I said that I could get my own tiara and make a door sash for far less. I've just purchased the fabric and accessories for the sash for less than $40 and the embroidery will cost me ~$20. The tiara was $30 off of Amazon. I would rather piece together my own celebration then pay their inflated prices. Check out places like etsy.com for ideas or individuals who could make you a beautiful door sash that could be the way you want it (although you likely wouldn't be able to get the DVC logo.)

Sure it is nice to have a surprise celebration put in the room but at the end of the day I would rather have a beautiful celebration and still have lots of $$$ in my pocket for other goodies at WDW. (My DH said he and the boys will do the decorating for me while I'm off at the spa or something :) )

Yeah I started to think about that. I can get the embroidery done for a reasonable amount and my DW is good at sewing, so we may just make our own as well. I guess we will wait a bit to see if there is one at SSR in September to study the design.

Most people aren't aware, but Disney Florist does a class at community hall at SSR on Wednesdays (prior reservations only). It was $50 and DVC members got a discount. We did it at Christmas, and it was great, definitely worth the $$ for the amount of flowers we got to make the arrangement. You can make reservations by calling the wdw-play number.
