Disney Fantasy ~ October 4, 2014 ~ Eastern Caribbean

Are any of you in training or have any of you participated in the Castaway Cay 5k?

I'm thinking about it (It's Scott). I've wanted to for the last couple of years, but haven't yet. Maybe this is the year... I really want to be able to wear a Castaway Cay 5K T-shirt!

My family has booked 4 cabins on this cruise to the beautiful Eastern Caribbean. We will have 4 generations sailing and we are planning for a amazing family vacation! I did try to add our information to the Google spreadsheet but was unable to figure out how to accomplish this task....:confused3 I have also asked to join the Facebook group, so hopefully I can get our information to everyone at this site instead. All four of our cabins would like to participate in the Fish Extenders and are looking forward to sharing Dixie Dust with all our new found friends.

This will be our 4th Eastern sailing and it will make our 14th Disney Cruise. We have sailed on all four ships and love them all, but the Fantasy seems to be our favorite.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome aboard!

This will be our 6th DCL cruise, but our first 7 day cruise. Once we get on the Fantasy, we will have been on 3 out of 4...only the Magic to go!

Welcome! I've added your Disboards name to the list and the doc.
You can tell us a little bit about your family in a post or via a msg. I'll then enter it into the doc :)
It may take me a day or so to update it due to work and such.
Glad you found us on Facebook. That's where most of the group can be found :)

X2!!
I think it's time we Disney-fy our work spaces.
When the Valentine's decor comes down..Disney is going up.

 My valentine's stuff on my desk at work IS Disney themed! ::yes:: And I have a Disney wallpaper on my PC...and today a co-worker gifted me with a Disney Rubix cube. Me thinks folks may be catching on to my Disney obsession... :rolleyes1

Words to live by :crazy2:... Hello all :yay: ! We were booked on the May 17th cruise aboard the Fantasy and only a few days away in paying off the balance as our excursion booking window was opening up this weekend ... but due to possible schedule conflicts with work prior to that date, we rebooked yesterday to this date ... so instead of celebrating my wife's birthday, we will be celebrating our Anniversary ... again - lol ...

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise, having done a B2B on the wonderful Fantasy on Sept 29/Oct 6 2012 ... we had even managed to get our old room for May 17th but now we are further forward on deck 8 for this sailing ...

It will be my wife and I in one cabin and my wife's sister (from Houston, TX) in the adjoining cabin ... while we have cruised before with other lines, this is my wife's sisters first ever cruise so are looking forward to introducing her to the fun of being on the open sea ...

Just a few quick ??'s ...

  • Hi krdotson ... do I PM you the details of our cabins etc ...
  • Will that get us on the FE list ... or do we PM Nancy ... I am not much of a fan of Facebook so will mainly be here on DIS ...
  • Is the name of the this sailing's group Rocking the Docks as noted on the FB page ...

Anyways I look forward to another 4+ months to prep for the FE & scratch that Disney cruise itch :crazy2: ... have to cancel the rooms we have at Port Orleans Riverside and Cabana Bay @ Universal and hope for great rates in the fall ... but that also means more fun on the DIS boards :thumbsup2 and meeting a new group of people :wave2:

Hi! And Welcome Aboard !!
You can PM me your info or tell us about your sailing party in a post and I'll get the info to Nancy or you can PM Nancy directly. Whichever you prefer.
And you are correct; the Facebook page is Rocking The Docks.

We are glad you are sailing with us :)

2/14/14
Today marks exactly one year since we booked this trip.
I watched the boards, pages, websites etc from October 2012 until they finally released the second half of 2014 to the general public on 2/14/13. :cheer2:

Since most of you have sailed multiple times with Disney; do you remember all of the excitement that went into booking your first Disney Cruise? :cool1:

Happy Friday everyone! Happy Valentines Day too!

Pulled through another week... whew!

Only 33 more Fridays to go!:cool1:

LOL- My cube is all DCL, all the time! LOL

I have multiple door magnets from previous cruises on my overhead file cabinet. I also have other door magnets we've received as FE gifts. There is my DCL mouse pad, DCL coffee mug, my DCL lanyard for my badge, my background screen rotates between about 10 different pictures, all from DCL. Various other pictures and postcards from DCL on my walls. Then there is my DCL jacket and various DCL polo shirts I'll wear to work...

I think there is more DCL, but since I'm not in the office today, I can't look around and verify it all. :rotfl2:

And EVERYONE at work knows, if they have a question about DCL, come to me and I'll chat about it!

Everyone should post pics of their pixie dusted offices/workspaces/cubes.pirate:
I only have my ::MinnieMo lunchbox

I only have a framed picture of the family at Disney World in front of the castle. I need to get some more Disney stuff for my desk. What a good idea to take the magnets to work, they would go perfectly on my file cabinet.

Hello, everyone.

I'm a first-time poster and brand new member to the forum. My hubby surprised me for Valentine's Day by booking this cruise for our 10 year wedding anniversary, which we'll celebrate on the boat. (He did it by having me solve this crazy riddle game which ultimately led me to a picture of the boat. I've known the boat part for about a week and have just been waiting to find out the rest of the details which he shared this morning.) I'm so excited I could burst!

Our first cruise was on the Disney Dream in October 2013, also for our anniversary. We learned about the door decorating and the gift exchange thing (I think it's called "fish extender." Is that right?) while we were on the boat (when it was too late to join the fun). I'm so excited to get into it this time and sprinkle or trip with even more magic!

I sent a request to join the Facebook exchange group (mentioned in the very first post of this thread). I'm not sure if that's the same as what's happening on the forums or if it's something different.

I appreciate any wisdom/guidance the group has to offer and I'm so looking forward to getting to know people before we set sail and then meeting in person on the ship. Feel free to forward me along to other threads, groups, etc. which would be helpful to explore.

Many thanks sprinkled with sparkles!

I wanted to jump in on the discussion of decorating a work space. I have a few touches to keep the magic alive at work.

- Two three-up frames with pics from our previous visits to Disney
- Our last two Christmas cards, also featuring pictures from our Disney vacations
- A decent sized Goofy thing I received on a Disney mailer once
- Disney and Thomas Kincaid calendar
- Screen saver of pics from our cruise October 2013
- Beautiful sparkly DREAM letters cutout. With it I have a small glass slipper (Barbie size, find by one of my co-workers in his coat pocket...very random), and a small stuffed Mickey.
- A mid-size plastic model of Mickey and another of Minnie given to me by a student who knows I love all things "mousified"

When I type it out, it looks like a lot; but in my space, it's not overwhelming. It's the perfect touch.
