Hello, everyone. I'm a first-time poster and brand new member to the forum. My hubby surprised me for Valentine's Day by booking this cruise for our 10 year wedding anniversary, which we'll celebrate on the boat. (He did it by having me solve this crazy riddle game which ultimately led me to a picture of the boat. I've known the boat part for about a week and have just been waiting to find out the rest of the details which he shared this morning.) I'm so excited I could burst! Our first cruise was on the Disney Dream in October 2013, also for our anniversary. We learned about the door decorating and the gift exchange thing (I think it's called "fish extender." Is that right?) while we were on the boat (when it was too late to join the fun). I'm so excited to get into it this time and sprinkle or trip with even more magic! I sent a request to join the Facebook exchange group (mentioned in the very first post of this thread). I'm not sure if that's the same as what's happening on the forums or if it's something different. I appreciate any wisdom/guidance the group has to offer and I'm so looking forward to getting to know people before we set sail and then meeting in person on the ship. Feel free to forward me along to other threads, groups, etc. which would be helpful to explore. Many thanks sprinkled with sparkles!

Is it possible for you to add to the DIS Board Roll Call a column indicating whether or not the cabin is participating in the FE as I do not do FB ...

In re: to last minute cabin changes, will you be hanging a magnetic dry erase board/note pad on your door for people to indicate if they are in a different stateroom than the one indicated on the Roll call ...

I see you are only a few doors down away from our ol' stateroom 8558 which we had wanted on this cruise but could not get ... I would've asked if you would change if you were in there - lol

And yes, I do remember the excitement (and work ) booking our last Disney cruise ... back in '12 we spent a week @ WDW before the B2B and then a week after @ Universal as we were celebrating our 20th Anniv and my birthday. We certainly felt the difference in atmosphere etc when we were in Universal after 3 weeks of Disney. We had to ship all of our FE gifts to the port ahead of our arrival as there was way too much stuff to take with us on the flight as we were doing B2B FE's - and when we returned to Orlando, we shipped all of the fun stuff we got back home. I tell you, the boxes were stuffed full!

I can most certainly add an add'l column to indicate who will be participating in the FE. I can work on it tomorrow afternoon.

Due to the popularity and amount of cabins that typically sign up for the FE. (34 cabins to date) Nancy has made the cutoff for signing up in August. She will then divide us into groups of 15-25 cabins. At this point we will know who we will be exchanging with.

I'll get with Nancy to see how we can provide current FE info to DIS members as well.

We had already started our FE gift collection and have more than enough for 40+ cabins ... so you can mark us down in one group and in the second group as voluntary participants with no expectation of any FE in return. I certainly understand that not everyone has the time/ability to participate in what may turn out to be a very large FE group. This occurred on the second of our previous B2B where some people participated in both groups ... I certainly got my exercise travelling through the entire ship ... not enough though to offset the calories from the double lobsters I ordered, the double steaks ... and so forth .

Sounds good! We have other cruisers who have also requested to be added to a tentative second group.
