WOW!:scared1: Giant pictures!!! How do I make them smaller?? They are scaring me so can't imagine what they will do to all of you!!! :rotfl:

I will try to get a more recent picture of all of us. At some point I will even post a pic of DH (Joni) even though he isn't coming along (he hates cruising).

Everyone up North ready for the big snow storm??? Getting through the winter thinking about the sunny Caribbean!!! Hung up my FE in the basement just to remind me of the fun and sun to come!!!! The boys and I ordered a cruise planning DVD just for fun to see the Dream so we could get excited :) They don't know about the cruise we're taking in a couple of weeks, so they think they have to wait til this one. Still trying to narrow down how to surprise them. Has anyone surprised someone with a cruise before? How did you do it?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HUUnKUrByY&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Whatever you do - don't make the mistake from this YouTube video & tell the kids that they are going to Dick's house. Apparently that place is awesome - LOL!!

HAHAHA! This video is so funny. I'd leave my kid there if he reacted like that :P KIDDING!
How old are the people you are surprising with the cruise?

Thanks for the sweet compliments about my baby boy. :D He is a handsome one. Kathy is right, this will be his "2nd" cruise. hahaha

Sorry Mati about your loss. Your friend was a fighter and enjoy the memories you had with her. You can do the 10K and tri, you are a strong lady!!!
Not sure how to shrink your pictures.

we will be on board with you . We are Dee, Don and Allen

Welcome Dee, Don & Allen!!! :dance3:

JorDan - I was thinking we will have to coordinate nursery times on the days at sea so we can have some adult pool time. Goodness knows we can't leave the hubbies alone. With 2X the ship that means there will be 2X as many man eaters. :rotfl2:

Oh Lynsey -- you are so funny! ManEaters!!! :rotfl2: That is great! What you should be more worried about are COUGARS who are travelling without their husbands... :rolleyes1 I do love a Man with a twang!!!

Btw, did you start reading The Hunger Games? :yay:

Ok, Girls, I tried to start The Hunger Games but couldn't get past chapter 1. Maybe it is the stress I have been under. Is it really that good? I'll try again in a couple of weeks.....

Its nice to give them gifts, they are used to tips, but they seemed to be SO excited that we thought of them.

Good idea JorDan!!! Will have to remember that! You are so thoughtful.

So who all is on Deck 2? Just the KLPs, or are others also on 2?

We are Deck 2 - 2025 but I am a KLP'er.....hope you don't hold it against me!! This will be a first for us. Only cruised twice before and both times had a balcony room. I figured it is just me and the kids AND I will be more comfortable leaving them in the room (if I have to run down the hall or something) without a balcony. Plus, that porthole seems awfully cool!

There will definently be FE going on. Plus I used to design and sell them on ebay, but not recently.
Maybe I should be in charge of the FE list?? Or any other volunteers? Who organized it for the KLPs cause it was done so wonderfully.

Woo Hoo! I totally vote you in to take charge of the FE list! Also, I think you may have to resurrect your FE business. I will need a new one without the grumpy husband's name.....:rolleyes1

If interested, I will summarize all of the info thus far....and if 'ksucats', 'Husurdaddy', or 'Donald Applecore' would be willing to edit their post on page 1, that would be great! So....what you think?

Thanks Tony!!!!

You guys are so sweet! Love this picture!!! :hippie:

Looks like a great group so far! Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!!!

Great picture Chasity!!!

Main Dining (6 pm), 5 pm show
Participate in FE: yes

JorDan ~ I thought with first seating the show time was either 5 pm or 9 pm??

I have a 9pm show time. Should I change it to 5? Do they check? If I have it at 9 and we want to go at 5 will that work?

After quite a bit of thought, Adam and I are pulling out of this cruise. We certainly intend to cruise the Fantasy (as well as many other ships), but the timing of this cruise simply will not work for us.
!

Bummed you won't be joining us Cinda but completely understand. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you bring a new addition to our next cruise. We are taking another one after this right? :yay:

With waching all the footage of the dream and all the snow and ice that we "are getting" may 19, 2012 cant get here fast enough. The name talk has kinda stoppd i say lets keep it simple just a thought!:cool1:

Forgot about the name thing.....Guess we do need a new name

A surprise -- how exciting!!! I haven't done that before but let us know how it goes!

The weather did change quite suddenly -- we are below freezing already here in Texas with a slight chance of snow. This after it was 80 on Sunday and we were wearing shorts. Winter can be odd down south. You guys up North, please stay warm!!!

Whatever you do - don't make the mistake from this YouTube video & tell the kids that they are going to Dick's house. Apparently that place is awesome - LOL!!

This was funny!!! I would be so upset if my kids reacted like that. I think I would be tempted to go home!! Thanks for sharing!

Ok, so sorry about the long post above but wanted to catch up with everything! Glad this board is getting more active!!!!

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. I am in much better spirits today.

Shaunna - we will all celebrate Molly being cancer free with you. That is a very special event!!!

I have been trying to convince my neighbor and her kids to cruise with us but she isn't sure yet. I am still a bit nervous about traveling as a solo adult and would love the companion to go to Palo/Remy with. I love my kids but hey -- I do want to have some fun without them! Does that make me a bad mommy? :rolleyes1

Hopefully the new kids clubs will keep them more occupied than last time. Has anyone looked at potential excursions yet?

Ok, really should get some work done today. I hope you all have a FABULOUS Tuesday!!!

PLUS, you will have all your DIS friends to help keep an eye on Sabrina and Kai:hug:. You are more than welcome to do dinner with us at Palo. We have also talked about a ladies Palo Tea or Brunch :grouphug:. I just can't justify $75/person for Remy, especially when we would have 4 in our group :scared1:.

You may want to see if you can get your show time officially changed to 5 p.m.. I have heard that they will/may be swiping room keys before you enter the theater for the shows to make sure you are going at your appointed time.

I actually have a snow day today . I work at Purdue University and they canceled all classes. Only "essential" staff had to show up :cheer2:. We got some snow and sleet last night with a big round coming this afternoon. I'm using my time wisely and packing for our trip to Key West next month :cool1:.

Awww....Kathy, you guys are the best.

I know you guys are willing to have me join you for dinner at Palo. I am sure that will workout although hate to be a fifth wheel.

Remy is interesting to me but don't see me going solo. In my case, just one so $75 which isn't tooooo bad. Pricey but my guess is a fraction of the cost of that kind of meal elsewhere. If anyone on the board knows of someone else going solo who wants to check out Remy, let me know!!!

Ok, will contact DU about changing the show time. Hopefully that won't be a problem. I already told Kai and Sabrina that we were going to EVERY show this time and at least one of them had to come with me. Last time we only made it to one show :scared1:

Snow day!!! Nice!!! I guess that wouldn't work here. Even if we get snow, I work from home so I have no excuse, just the added burden of the kids at home bugging me.

Key West! I am so jealous. I want to go! I need to plan something. Our next vacation is a big one but not until June so have to find something to look forward to in between.

Ok --> Back to this --> :surfweb:

Stay warm!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next 16 months! :goodvibes

Welcome! :)

Btw, did you start reading The Hunger Games? :yay:

Not yet, I'm trying to find some time! As fast as the year is already going it might end up being cruise reading material next year!

We have 2032/2033 and 2532/2533. Basically, a straight shot across the ship.

So who all is on Deck 2?

We're also on Deck 2, room 2525 to be exact. With so many in one area it will make FE deliveries easy, although I did enjoy roaming the ship during the last exchange!

Maybe I should be in charge of the FE list?? Or any other volunteers? Who organized it for the KLPs cause it was done so wonderfully.

Shew, I'm glad you had good things to say about the FE organizer on our last cruise since it was me, lol! I loved doing it the last time, along with the little newsletters that I gave out, but that was before having a baby. Now between her, work, and trying to fit in some gym time I don't have near as much time so I would be more than happy for someone else to take over! I would definately be willing to help though if needed for anything. :cutie:

Here is our "roll call" information (it would be nice if we could get all this dropped into one post for a quick reference! :thumbsup2)

Wow that seems weird putting our ages at sailing esp. since Kaitlyn is only 9 weeks now! :scared1:

After quite a bit of thought, Adam and I are pulling out of this cruise.

:sad2: So sorry to hear you wont be joining us. Jason and I wish you the best, we'll be keeping an eye out and hope to hear good news!

This past couple of weeks have been tough. A dear friend of mine "passed the torch" as she said, in her battle against breast cancer.

Your friend sounds like she was an amazing person and that she touched many people! She must have been such an inspiration. :goodvibes

Everyone up North ready for the big snow storm???

Blah! I'm sooooo over the snow this year. It looks like this one might just miss up (fingers crossed)! After last week, well, and about every other week since December 1st I'm tired of seeing the white stuff.

I think I'm caught up for now at least! Talk to you all soon.

WOW!:scared1: Giant pictures!!! How do I make them smaller?? They are scaring me so can't imagine what they will do to all of you!!! :rotfl:...

If you are using Photo Bucket, you should be able to adjust the size; if you don't want to resize the original, make a copy and resize that, then copy its code into the post.

good luck!

Thanks Lynne! It worked!!!!

HAHAHA! This video is so funny. I'd leave my kid there if he reacted like that :P KIDDING!

I think that its important to be careful about the "white lies" you have to tell in order to pull off the surprise. I saw another video where the kid gets upset because he's not "actually" going to grandma & grandpa's house. (even though grandma & grandpa were going to meet them at Disney) He even says, "can we go to grandma & grandpa's house first, and then go to Disney?" I guess kids can get so excited about one destination, that its tough to wrap their heads around the change in plans - even when that change is Disney. (unbelievable right?)

I'm sure those kids in the video went on to have a great time at Disney - they were just excited about going Dick's house - LOL

All:

Bryan (aka 'Donald Applecore') has granted me access to his signon and I will begin updating his entry on page 1 shortly (thread entry #2).

Keep the info coming!

Oh my goodness-- I might cry if they were to react like that, haha :-)

We've been very careful to not give details of the trip b/c we don't want them to be disappointed that they're not going to be in Baltimore. They've only met the friend once (she's my friend from college) and they only details they know are that we're going out to eat the first night and that we're going to the Harbor to look at boats the morning after we get there :)

They're 6 and 8-- both boys :) It's been a LONG year for both of them, so they need something fun... Both were in the hospital this year (Joey, the 8 year old, because of epilepsy which was diagnosed in March, and Alex because he is on the autistic spectrum and they wanted to monitor him for seizures as well) and they were without me for some time a couple times through the year b/c of surgeries (one in June that didn't go quite right so it bought me a hospital stay and then a hysterectomy a couple of months ago followed by a more extended time in the hospital due to me apparently not liking anesthesia!). Meanwhile, my awesome DH picked up the pieces through all of the above! So I guess we NEED a fun break, haha :-)

Thinking that when we go to "look at the boats" we're going to tell them we're stopping to take a pic in front of the boat to make people think we got on it... While the video is rolling, I'll say "here, put these on for the picture" and give them t-shirts that say "My Mom and Dad surprised me with a cruise!" and see how long it takes to set in :)
