Disney Fantasy Eastern Caribbean December 14 2013

I am closest to Muskegon Mi about 30 minutes inland, but we have not seen but maybe a few inches snow fall this year! We barely had any snow last year. Marquette is in the upper peninsula. The get TONS of snow there! Probably don't completely thaw till May or june (not kidding) I think we passed all our snow on your way these past few years!

I also live in a suburb of Syracise. The town is Camillus, NY. I live about 15 minutes away from Robin.:)
We didnt get alot of snow last year either. I was hoping that this year would be the same, but nope.
We only have a couple more months and then it will start to get nice again. I have to keep thinking like that or I will go CrAzY!!!!!:dance3:

I don't know if I'll do anymore cruise shopping now but I am goi to make this dress for my almost three year old Lyla for Easter and it will be perfect for the cruise too!!

Aww....so cute!:goodvibes

OK so I am going to participate in the FE program for the first time and I am super excited about it but I have some questions....

I dont want to ask what you all are planning to bring, that would take the fun out. I have a few ideas already but I am open to suggestions, and would also like to know what is the appropriate number of days to do deliveries.
Some posters in other boards say once or twice, some folks do one every day...
Also, around how many would be in a group?

Do you do a gift for each person in the stateroom each time ?

Is food (like candy) ok or would that be redundant since the whole ship is saturated in calories ?

Thanks ladies ;)

Ha ha :) I live in "the frozen tundra" Michigan! We were 11 degrees most of the morning today. Say we are in for the same thing most all if next week. Dreaming of those beautiful aqua waters is all that is getting me through right now :fish:

Michigan ?!? 11 degrees !!!?!? Holy Snowballs that's almost single digits !!

You win, officially, hands down (the big white four fingered Mickey kinda hands that is !)

This is our first FE too! I am doing a homemade type gift for each room for the adults and thinking maybe something small for the kids for pirate night but doing one delivery because our group keeps growing bigger and i guess the ship is pretty big to cover for deliveries...I don't think there is a set of rules, I think you just give something you would like to receive :)

Thank you Alisha ! Your thoughts are very helpful! I've looked at some other folk's FE gifts on Pintrest. Some great ideas there too! Maybe we will be in the same group :)

I live on the east coast of the UK and on Wednesday it was -10° which is equal to 14°F. I took a photo on the iPhone and seconds later it dropped to -12°C which for you is 10°F. Lots of freezing fog. We are due 10 hours of heavy snow tomorrow.

Apologies for the poor quality of the photo

Dear God, that's inhumane conditions. We get some pretty cold snaps here, even in the 'south' of the USA, single digits from time to time, I can totally sympathize, but the snow part is a whole other level of discomfort and inconvenience. I hope you have a good amount of provisions to ride that storm out!
Maybe next winter you could get a break from the arctic conditions and take a Disney Cruise :)

The first cruise we were on, we participated in a FE. We assigned a certain day to each cabin for delivery, we divided up the list and just had an even number on each day, so we could spread out the deliveries throughout the week.

It's up to you what you want to do--some people give a gift for each person in the stateroom, some give a gift for the entire stateroom.

Candy is ok, we found that we enjoyed having it.

The main problem we had was that there was SO much stuff we didn't have enough room to take it all home. We had to make some tough decisions. It's definitely something to keep in mind, there are those of us who have a limited amount of space because we're flying, and don't really want to pay $$ to check an extra bag.

daipp That is crazy! I hate being cold. Warmth is always so much better:)

We're in the middle of some more heavy snow at the moment but it isn't as cold - it's only freezing!

14th of December cannot come quick enough right now.

I will say this Feb being my 3rd FE, I find that leaving it up to the individual is best. I don't believe on imposing a specific day as you never know when u will have time till u are onboard. 2nd--I have added a question to the join us form---Does ur family have allergies(Latex, red dye, peanuts, milk, etc---Braces) all of which limit your enjoyment of some things. On my Feb cruise , like my DD we have many girls with braces and many parents like myself asking that no sticky candy, or gummies or carmel, etc be given to our children. Not that it would be a big deal as I would just give it to our stateroom attendent, however I find it unneccesary to give someone something they can't enjoy. So if you have already filled out the join us form, please PM me, post here, whatever --any allergies that ur family /individuals might have so I can add that to the FE list

Also seeing the amount of people that are in the FE right now, I am sure I will be splitting the lists in 2 by summer. I think we will keep the amount of people under 30 or so staterooms. so at that amount it is very doable. In 2009, Robin, Norma and I had 42 staterooms and it wasn't bad. As not to overwhelm some, I think 30 is a good number...sound good?

Thank you that's great advice !!
I think 30 or 40 is a fine number. I have already considered size as a consideration not just for the recipient, but also for taking with us on the cruise!
I have two items planned so far, one of which is for using while on the cruise. The more I can do in advance the better, my daughter and I have been working on family tshirts already.

1. Which Disney character would describe your personality and why?
Mickey Mouse--- he's the main guy, who has control of everything and doesn't let Donald Duck(aka Robin-disneydiva) have control. :)

2. If you have been on a Disney Cruise, What is your favorite thing to do?
Character Tea with my girls is one. Dressing up for dinner and being treated like a princess.

3. Favorite thing to do at Disney?
Go to character meals and special events.

4. Are you dressing in pirate gear for Pirate Night?
Maybe

5. What are you most looking forward to on this cruise?
Spending time on the ship at Christmas time, spending it with my family(parents, SIL, etc) and with my NY girlfriends...I love vacationing with them!!!

6. What is a tip you have learned you would like to share?

7. What dinner seating do you have?
Main.

8. What excursions look good to you?
The Rhino Riders in St. Martin

9. Drinker? Just wondering who we are gonna find passed out on the deck chairs?
I am not a heavy drinker but definatley will see me with the drink they call the Bon Voyage in my hand a few times!

I just reserved a room at Buena Vista suites using the mouse savers discount $99 per night! They say they have shuttles to the park and free breakfast. Any comments on this resort? I have never been but it is cheaper than staying at the port, and if we stay in Orlando before the cruise we are def. doing mvmcp!!

1. Which Disney character would describe your personality and why?
Well I was very unsure how to answer this particular question. So I did what any normal person might do and I googled it. Haha. So after taking a quiz I found I am the most like Mrs. Incredible.

My Results:

2. If you have been on a Disney Cruise, What is your favorite thing to do?
I like going to the character meets. Watching the kids get all excited taking pictures with the characters in all their various outfits is great. I adore how much the characters interact on the cruise.

3. Favorite thing to do at Disney?
Character Meals. Although sorcerers of the magic kingdom is pretty awesome too :). I guess I should mention the shows as well. Who doesn't love those?!?

4. Are you dressing in pirate gear for Pirate Night?
Possibly. I probably will. Although I bought a costume and all for our last cruise and didn't even put it on.

5. What are you most looking forward to on this cruise?
Seeing the ship all decorated for Christmas, taking pictures of the characters in their Christmas outfits, spending an entire week on board :cool1:, and all of the family time that we will have since there won't be any school or work to account for.

6. What is a tip you have learned you would like to share?
Go to the desk to book your next cruise early on in the cruise (or drop off the paperwork in their box and they will leave you a quote in your room). The later in the cruise it gets, the more people are there waiting. Even if you don't plan on taking another one any time soon it is worthwhile to do as it is 10% down instead of 20%, you get a 10% discount off of the cruise fare, and you get on board credit for that future sailing. You can change the date of your booking and your benefits will carry over to the new sailing.

7. What dinner seating do you have?
Main.

8. What excursions look good to you?
Honestly I haven't even looked. :rotfl2: Guess I should have like I did the personality one.

9. Drinker? Just wondering who we are gonna find passed out on the deck chairs?
I am not a big drinker and I find that I am more of a social drinker. You know one of those have a drink or two every couple of months? Since I just had surgery I don't plan on having any alcohol until our cruise (although I have read I can have it earlier it just doesn't seem wise). Rapid weight loss is hard on your liver so I don't want alcohol to make it any more difficult. So I may be one of those passed out on the deck chairs since it will be well over a year since my last drink. :rotfl: But since I will be celebrating graduation and vacation I do plan on indulging in a few drinks.

1. Which Disney character would describe your personality and why?
I would have to say the Fairy Godmother because I like to see people's wished come true.

2. If you have been on a Disney Cruise, what is your favorite thing to do?
Eat:rotfl:

3. Favorite thing to do at Disney?
Watching the shows at each park.

4. Are you dressing in pirate gear for Pirate Night?
Yes, I think it will be fun!!!

5. What are you most looking forward to on this cruise?
Just relax and have a good vacation!!!

6. What is a tip you have learned you would like to share?
Look around and enjoy!

7. What dinner seating do you have?
Main--I think 5:45ish

8. What excursions look good to you?
They all look amazing, so I am not sure which ones we are doing yet.

9. Drinker? Just wondering who we are gonna find passed out on the deck chairs? I do drink, but not a ton. I will be trying the drink of the day, but dont plan on getting smashed.

Fun game
