Disney Fantasy, August 18, 2012 - Western Caribbean

I certainly do not want to cause any drama myself, so if my family being asked to add causes anyone to be upset, I take us off. I just wanted to do this for fun, not to have people upset. I am sorry if I upset anyone.

I see many of you are not doing anything on th is island and I laugh because we are not either. We plan on staying on the boat or if there are port shops, might get off and explore there, So the boat might not be so quiet, LOL :cool2:

LOL, We are staying on the Boat when docked at Costa Maya, but that might be everyone's plans. If so not good. I was hoping for a less crowded boat too. We can't afford to do tours on all ports so I planned a free fun day on the boat. We will see. as a back up I booked some chair at a beach. If not, I will see you in a short line for the pool slides. Here's hoping!!

PS wish there was someway of knowing a head of time about the crowds on the boat all week and for that day.

I wanted to chime in a bit on the FE. This is a fun and wonderful thing. We have done it once and I think I was more into it then my family. There are some really beautiful things people do. I will say my favorite was a scarf on our Alaska cruise and a magnet that still is on the fridge.

But the other side which may help those of you not able to participate...
1. Its a lot of work
2. Hard to pack and now so many luggage restrictions
3. A big boat. It was a lot of work finding room
4. Me with poor directions took a long time finding cabins, and this time away from my family and just relaxing
5. Cost $$

I enjoyed it very much but if you can't do it take more time to relax with me by the pool or go to the on board cooking class. Got a great receipe last time.

Either way enjoy. And a BIG THANKS for Chris for organize it. I can't imagine all the time. Your great!!!

You bet! I WILL take you up on that and relax by the pool OR a cooking class sounds AWESOME!!! LOVE to COOK!!

I know Mary is out of items if we add more people to the list, and there are two additional families that requested to participate. Here is what I propose, we keep the list open until Saturday (that is 7 weeks before the cruise), but the people who join after French Tink would do so with the understanding that they might not get something from everyone because they are joining so late in the game. Once Saturday night rolls around, we have a hard close on the list. Is that acceptable to everyone?

Chris, this is the perfect way to handle this. That is how we have done many of the FE in the past. After a certain date, the late comers were added to the list with the understanding that they may not receive gifts from all members on the list. They join knowing this, so it is fine with them.

Everyone, lets remember, this is suppose to be a fun activity and meant to bring smiles and added enjoyment to your cruise. No one should have to leave the list to make room for others.

Mary, we hope you stay in the FE.

Thank you Chris for all your work on the FE lists.

Lets have a great cruise.

Pete

This sounds great to me. That way no one is missing out. Those that are new will only receive couple of gifts less than everyone else but still get to enjoy the fun. And those that are organised in advance (as I should be but am not) don't have to stress either. Siounds like a good compromise.

Ok, I don't say much - but MARY - please stay - it is so fun and one of my highlights for the cruise...I am in the same boat as you are - however for those with kids that get added on - I will stop at the $$$ store and get them a little something....So please stay - it really is fun! I don't think anyone is or will be upset - they understand they were added late - so stick with what you have and do the ones you can! Please - dont miss this fun activity!!!:goodvibes

Ditto what Stacey has said. We don't want you to pull out. Those that are late to the list will completely understand that several people have had this organised for some time. They will still receive enough gifts for their kids to make it fun for them. Its completely reasonable for you to stick with what you've got.

Mary don't do that. we all want this to be a fun enjoyable thing. This is our first cruise and we are just overly excited and bought too much. Do what you can and thats it. No one will fault you for that.

Hi Kimberly,

Yes, let's definately meet up!! Our Stateroom is 8084. I would love for my daughter to make a friend her own age to run around with.

You bet! I WILL take you up on that and relax by the pool OR a cooking class sounds AWESOME!!! LOVE to COOK!!

Lets make a plan of it. Love the girls to know another buddy for the clubs. Also, did you say you have other kids traveling with you? How old are they? Does it work for them to all be in the same club?

This won't help those of us who are doing a per stateroom and not per person gift.

I don't want to be the cause of any drama. Chris, just pull me off the FE. I can mail back what I had ordered as I haven't started making my item yet. I'm sure that not participating in the FE will NOT affect my overall first cruise enjoyment in the slightest! :)

I was only trying to help so everyone could have fun with the FE that's what it's all about. Don't leave Chris had the best idea of all, it will let other people join knowing they are late and they seem to be okay with that. Hoping you stay with us and see you soon.

I agree with Stacy. Do what you can. If a family gets one less gift than another would you know?
I am looking forward to the final count. I am off from work next week and would like to get most of the FE's organized.

So Mary stay and join in on the fun.

We are also staying on the boat in Costa Maya so let's pray all the people not reading this thread are going off the boat. Can't wait for the Aquaduck.

Need to do a little more 'customizing"......:rolleyes1

We are going to look silly!!!! pirate:

Aaah!!! I just looked on etsy and DID see the picture I put on our shirts.

But that's okay - I only spent about $25 to make all 6 of them!!:thumbsup2

I have my niece, who is almost 14(who we will be using as a babysitter at night) and my nephew who is 12, so older kids. My daughter is the only "little" person we have in our group. I am VERY excited. I know my daughter LOVES making new friends and having a friend she can meet and play with will make her trip SO much more enjoyable!!! YAY!!!

Thanks for letting us join your fish extender group. I know my grandkids will be looking forward to all the surprise gifts. On our last Disney cruise we didn't get in a group but put little surprises in for them everyday! Can't wait for the ship to sail. pirate:

Hi all. Just booked this cruise a couple days ago. We got a good deal on an OGT room and decided to book. From what I've seen, we won't get our room assignment until about 2 weeks out, but not too concerned with any oceanview room.

Our crew consists of myself, Jeff, my DW, Suz, and our DS who is 12.

This will be our 11th DCL cruise and 3rd Western. We did the Dream (b2b) last October and loved the new ship. Can't wait to see the differences between the two ships though.

We're also looking forward to getting back to Grand Cayman. Just going to go to Seven Mile Beach. And we always love going to Castaway Cay.

Wasn't sure if the FE was still open or not. We understand that it is late in the game and some have completed their items.

Gty assignments began for our cruise

Unfortunately not for OGT (although seeing your post got me to look at our ressie :thumbsup2).

We're you GTY? Did you get a room in the Cat that you booked or did they upgrade? Just wondering how full the ship is given that they have IGT, OGT and VGT. Figure Cat specific GTY would have best shot at upgrades over the other guarantees.
