Disney Fantasy, August 18, 2012 - Western Caribbean

Hi - I was wondering if anyone has an 8 or 9 year old daughter who would like to email my almost 9 year old - so they can get to know each other b/4 the cruise and then they can hang to gether at the pool and in the kids club. We met someone on her in 09 and they email each other back and forth and I got to know they mom - and the girls were together the whole time on the cruise and had a blast - we just cruise again with them this past NEw Years and it was like the girls were never apart....makes it so easy for the girls to know they will have a friend to play with - if anyone is interested - send me a message and i will give you my e-mail. Thanks

I have a 7 and a 9 year old. The 9 year old will turn 10 just before the cruise but they would love to email other kids prior to cruising. We also did this last time with a group of kids and it was like they were best friends already when they actually met in person.

Chris,

Just wondering if you have updated the FE list lately?

Getting ready

I have been uber busy with work and life in general lately. I should have time to update it this weekend.

My travel agent did the preview cruise last week and sent the following email to me:

"The Fantasy is such an amazing ship - you are going to absolutely love your cruise. In typical Disney fashion everything is top notch. The activities for kids are endless - the Kids Club area is HUGE and there are so many different things for the boys to do – from video games to science experiments. And the entertainment is the best I’ve ever seen on the seas – definitely do not miss a show! And with dining your table rotates through different dining rooms each night but your server stays with you! So, you get a different dining experience each night but still have the personal touch by having the same staff. There is a molten chocolate cake that is to die for – plus buttered popcorn soup – which you just have to try. There are ice cream (low fat) machines open almost all day (and even on their private island). The private island is fantastic too – it might even prove to be your favorite port. And there are plenty of adults-only sections of the ship including a separate pool area, bars/clubs (4 different bars) and a section of their private island. The spa is AMAZING looking – probably the best looking spa I’ve seen on a ship – so please book something!

A couple of random things:

1. There is a pirate night – so if the boys have any pirate costumes you might want to bring them

2. You cannot buy gum either on the ship or airport – so stock up ahead of time

3. Soda is unlimited. So prepare yourself for the boys to be strung out on sugar!

4. Peanut butter (during breakfast) is located in a very random location (behind the mustard and mayo) near the cereal. (I had to be personally escorted to find it).

5. They have veggie burgers at the outdoor grill – which are yummy"

Welcome! your two older ones are close to mine - DS5 and DS7 (though they look about 7 and 9 because they're so tall!)

Welcome!! :cheer2: Please feel free to fire away with any questions you may have. I remember how lost and confused I was when I first started planning this cruise. Have I learned a LOT on these boards over the past year! :worship:

Thanks so much for the welcome! I've already learned so much from these boards, I've been reading for a while. But I'll definitely have questions at some point. Right now my biggest worry is traveling with my little one. She'll be 22 months when we travel and she isn't the best "go with the flow" child. But we're going with my mom, her husband, my sister and her kids (ages 15, 14, and 5) so I'll have lots of help. :)

Hi Trinity88, great to have you join us. It seems like there are quite a few kids around the same age. I have a DD7 and DD9 (10 at the time we cruise).

I see a lot of girls that are 8-10. I have a son that is 8 that is coming with us. My daughter is 4. He was reading the threads with me and was asking about "wheres the boys". lol. :confused3

Ha! They'll all be with me!!!!!

Not the right ages but my boys will be 14,13,11, and 5!

I am soooooooo outnumbered! Even the dog is a boy!

:rotfl2:

It feels like its all coming together now. I've been reading through the Navigators and Menus and I'm really starting to get really excited. Its great to see information coming from the ship we are going on from other cruisers.

I totally agree! I've printed out the Navigators and, even though I KNOW that some of the entertainment will not be the same, I'm planning out my days. :rotfl: How exciting.

So reports are saying that the dining rotations will be 1231231. And the new AP show is on your last AP night. Anyone else thinking of doing three AP nights? That would make our last dinner the new AP show. What a way to end the cruise!

We are making some plans now too. We want to be able to make Palo and spa bookings as soon as we are able so its good to sort of know whats going on during the day.

I have no idea what to do about dinner. We want to schedule in a Palo dinner but the menu's look so awesome, its going to be a shame to miss one. My mouth was watering last night reading out some of the dishes.
