We just got back from the "Friends & Family" preview of the Disney Family Museum in the Presidio in San Francisco.
All we can say is wow! They have done a super job in building a fitting tribute to Walt.
From what we were told, D23 is going to be there in the next day or so. followed by a couple of days of "soft" opening, followed by a gradn opeing gala on 10/1.
They will also be hosting an opening event for the industry - Disney / Pixar / LucasFilm, etc ( LucasFilm is almost next door) tomorrow.
There was a reception are set up behind the museum, where receptions & diners, catered by Wolfgang Puck are held, along with of course, wines from Silverado Vineyards.
When we arrived, I was helping my sister in law, who is in a wheelchair. We were stopped at the handicapped ramp by security, while the Mrs was getting us checked in.
An older couple walked by and stopped when they saw us, the gentleman asked us if we needed any assistance. I thanked him for his concern, and informed him we were just waiting for our credentials.
It turned out that is was Diane Disney Miller and her husband Ron, the one time CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
Disney hospitality and service - it never goes out of style!
Anyways, the event was fantastic, if you get a chance to get to SF, the museum is a must see for anyone who is a Disney fan!
