Disney Fairytale Weddings - Food Network on Saturday 6-10-06!

I have no doubt that some of it was comp'd by Disney and some of the tab picked up by the Food Network, thats the nature of the business, best commercial for Disney Weddings.

i dunno... i'm thinking that the commercial for the weddings just about put a lid on the coffin for a bunch of brides thinking they can afford a wedding at disney. Now i have to admit i only watched the last 5 to 10 minutes lol, but did they mention how much the other wedding that i missed cost? In all reality most brides can not afford much more than 15k for their entire wedding (dresses, flowers and all) I work with lots of cute young nurses all marrying nice young men, none are "poor" but most havent spent more than 20k...one spent 150k..but she really is just so spoiled...daddy bought her a house too...whateva..nother story for another time :)

If you back out the over the top expenses like $2500 for the 6 horse carriage with three foot men to take her from the GF to the Wedding Pavillion( how much is that a foot), $$$ couple thousand for Mickey and gang at reception will save some dough. Plus they never said how much the bridal tea cost with Alice and the Mad Hatter that really looked like it cost a small mint. My over all impression was she was a spoiled little girl that Daddy never said no to. The dinner cost alone was prob around $12000 for 100 people because she decided to let everyone decide which meant that the kitchen had to prepare 300 meals for 100 people. I also have the feeling it was open bar and alcohol at Disney isn't the cheap stuff. Her wedding was the example of pulling out all the stops.

Not for nothing I agree and disagree with what alot of you have to say about the "$70,000" couple. If her parents can afford to do something like that for their daughter....MORE POWER TO THEM! If my dad had said money is no object, get whatever you want, I would have jumped at the chance for everything I ever wanted too. And who knows how much they really had to pay? Like someone else pointed out, WDW and the food network may have picked up part of the bill.

As far as following them around for every little thing, the network had to do that, how else would we know the ins and outs of planning a WDW wedding? What a ridiculous statement!

I do agree with the pick your own dinner thing, what a waste to make 300 meals for 100 people. She should have sent out a menu card with the invitations for her guests to pick one of the 3 choices ahead of time so the chef would know how many of what meal to make....save alot of money there.

Please dont flame me, just my opinion.

Hey, I totally agree. If the parents can afford it, more power to them. I guess it was just something about her attitude that irked me a little. No flames here, I love to hear all opinions. pirate:

I thought they said the two young actors were actors in Disney shows. Does anyone remember that? I just assumed some of the costs were discounted because of that . . . and the fact it was being televised. I know she was a little spoiled, princess: but I thought she was adorable. :bride: I could see the groom being Aladdin . . . :goodvibes

Also, I didn't realize when she said she wanted all three choices for the meal, Disney would make 300 meals for 100 people. Is that right? I thought I heard them say there was an upcharge to utilize all three choices, but not the cost of 300 meals. Yikes!

I was watching yesteday also, i about fell over when the price of the one wedding was around $70,000. :scared1: Holy cow i would like a nice wedding but not at that price. I would love to get married at Disney, but a heck of a lot cheaper than that. The weddinngs were all really nice, but who really needs to spend that much money for one day?

The Mad Hatter Tea Party is around $10,000 maybe a little over. (The Mad Hatter Cake is $1000 alone!!)
Her dinner was probably around $100/person

I rather have the $70,000 to take a Disney trip once a year for the rest of my life. :thumbsup2 (We're cheap, me and my husband can go for $1,200 for each trip.)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Little Miss Bride needed to be reigned in. Poor mom and dad looked a little green when she decided she couldn't decide and she'd have to have all three entrees. Almost the worst part for me was I couldn't see that it was worth 70,000. It didn't really look any more elegant that a lot of weddings I've been to that cost a whole lot less.

On the other hand, Orange bride's wedding was fantastic. I thought that that one really was elegant and beautiful and not so cookie cutter as Tara's. I wouldn't be surprised if it cost more too, once you took away the tea party and coach from the first one.

I could be wrong but I don't think too much of that stuff was comped. I believe (but once again I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first or last time) that the only thing the Orange wedding were comped was the mini castle cakes.... I think I remember reading that the first time the show aired when she came on the weddings board and talked about it. They were both beautiful weddings though. I do agree the one was soo spoiled and you know Daddy got the bill for that one.

Actually Ann and Michael were also given the lighted sorbet upgrade, Lumiere, a sushi station, and a bigger cake. Along with the mini cakes. :) I remember reading about it on here a long time ago.

Oh hell yeah.

The sad thing is, my wife and I got married at Disney, and the total of our wedding was just about the same price as her 3 minute carriage ride to the chapel. Granted, ours wasn't as extravegant as theirs, but it was something we will never forget. Had our friends and family with us on the beach at the Polynesian, then we all went to dinner at Chef De France.

Hey, if you got the money (as her daddy clearly must) all the power to you. Just her whole "I always wanted to be a princess" crap - That was annoying.

I was watching this with my mom and called Mr. Brit in from the office to watch the end. He about choked to death when he saw the price tag. My mother then looks at me and says "Does he KNOW how much we spent on your first wedding"???

See, my starter marriage was a Disney wedding with 30ppl it came to around $25,000.00 (thanks Dad---sorry about that divorce)....Needless to say, Mr. Brit and I are paying for our own wedding this time. :rotfl2:
