I've been hovering around the new Disney Fairies website for the last few months, and I finally ordered the book "Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg". It arrived today and I just finished it! Beautiful illustrations, and a fun story. The author, Gail Carson Levine (she also wrote "Ella Enchanted"), certainly left room for more books to follow this one. I hope Disney will keep going with expanding this - I'd love to learn more about the other fairies and see more of Tink!

Has anyone else read it? What did you think?

My mom got us this book on cd for Christmas and we have listened to it a few times now. I really like it and think it is cute and fun. Its cool how it takes little bits of Disney and weaves them in. And the characters are wonderful! The kids all like it even the boys as the "quest" part keeps their interest.

I have to admit that I haven't heard anyone else discuss it though so I am worried they wont continue with it. Which would be a real shame!

Gail Carson Levine has some wonderful books, I have not yet found one of hers I don't like.

I have! I'm really loving the new series. There are 4 shorter stories about them too. I think it's great that Disney is making books the main focus for these characters. :) I have a doll of Prilla from the Disney Store.

Ooo...I didn't know about the shorter stories or the doll! That's exciting news! I've always loved fairies, and wished that Disney had more of them. I wanted Tink to have some friends, so this new story line makes me especially happy.

Get thee self to a Barnes & Noble and quickly!! They have all of the other books in stock(was the only store we found with all of them) The only one we are missing is the Tinkerbell one as DD ran out of money for the entire set. She and I read the Quest and then on a car trip at Thanksgiving listened to it. She loved Prilla so much we made a costume of what we think Prilla dressed like at the end of the book.

Gail Carson Levine is a wonderful writer!! I have only found one book that wasn't my cup of tea. A wonderful short read is Cinder Ellis and the Glass Hill, it had me :rotfl2: and :rotfl:

For those of you who don't know the Disney Fairies site has a writing contest for the younger set going on with a topic related to all the fairies.

I've read it as well (yea a man reading a girlly book :lmao: ) I know there is 2 more books done I've seen the covers somewhere .I also heard a Movie is coming out .
Rumores of 1900 Park Fair CB have also floated around .
