All valid tickets allow use of FP. How far in advance that can be done depends on other factors. Without an onsite stay, CMs generally can book no more than 7 days in advance.
When I have been a guest of CMs in the past, they use their "Maingate" passes and also have several guest passes for us to use while we are with them. In those cases they have had to schedule our FPs, I had no access. There are other types of CM passes and I am unclear both on how they work and what exact type you have. With more info, others may be able to help.
I would suggest asking him, honestly. His tickets likely have a number that can be entered into MDX, but I could be wrong. I am also unclear on whether this type of CM pass would allow you to book at 7 days or 30 days before your visit.
I am going with a friend who's sister works for disney we added her ticket to MDE about 10 days before our trip and was able to book FP's for the trip but I would rubble check with the CM who is giving you the tickets
