Disney Eggs....Really? I mean, Really?

My mom brought home grapefruits a couple of months ago and the tag said they were from Disney :) Nothing special about the grapefruits though, they did taste really good. We can't remember where we got them though.

I saw these the other week at the grocery store! I was shocked! Why am I going to pay more for eggs with Disney characters stamped on them? I can do it myself at home.

I'm actually happy to see Disney branding on some healthier items like eggs and bananas. Better the kids ask for those than the Disney branded candy!

Last night at Costco we saw a huge box of watermelons with Snoopy and Woodstock on them and we bought a big box of strawberries with the Sesame Street characters on them, so Disney ain't the only ones. I'm glad my kids are old enough not to beg for such foolishness:upsidedow

I don't mind disney branding eggs, whats wrong with it? I take more offense to them spitting out crappy direct to DVD sequels...

It has to be one or the other?:confused3
Actually condoning one piece of schlock over another is part of the problem. Disney has figured out that there are enough people who will buy whatever crap they brand simply because it has the Disney name attached to it. This means easy profits without really having to work. But it degrades the brand, the name, that so long has stood for quality.

I know that branding is nothing new but in today's Disney branding is becoming the name of the game. Quality? That's just too expensive and risky to give us these days.

My boss tells me these Snoopy Watermelons have been around for years. And from what I was told, the WDW Hotels receive their "own" produce. So if you are staying on property and see a truck being unloaded, you'll see the eggs, bananas, whatever with the Disney markings. That way you'll be more inclined to buy them. I'm sure they they couldn't afford this anymore and decided to sell to the public to help with costs.

Ok I might get flamed for this, but I actually can see the concept behind this. It's geared towards kids. Eggs are good nutrition and slapping a stamp on them might encourage a kid to try it if they had no interest before. I do agree with the "sellout" factor. They did this a long time ago.

I agree. If I had small kids, I could see where this would be appealing in trying to get the kids to eat a little better. I almost bought the Disney eggs as a goof, but then reconsidered. The novelty lasted about 10 seconds while I peeked at them, then I went and bought my regular eggs.

We try not to eat a lot of eggs. It is disgusting how those birds are treated.

What about beef . . . . you know whow that is done don't you.............

Donald Duck Orange Juice was introduced in 1940. Disney-branded food is nothing new, and certainly wasn't started by Bob Iger.

The Donald Duck OJ factory was right near my high school in Lake Wales, FL (It's now "Florida's Natural" OJ). That place smells something fierce when they burn the peels :scared:

It's like the t-shirt I saw the other day:

"Meat is murder. Tasty, tasty murder"

You know, I've been wondering why I haven't seen Daisy around the parks the past couple of months. Now I get it, SHE'S BEEN PUMPING OUT DISNEY EGGS.:lmao:

I guess you could say that about most animals in the food chain. I am by no means a PETA supporter, but they now do have more humane ways of slaughtering the animals that are consumed by humans.

I never thought I would be one of those people that would buy such silly items. The kids for some reason will eat anything that comes in Disney wrap. We buy apples already sliced, mickey mouse shaped pizza, chicken nuggets etc.

I'm definitely a PETA supporter! PETA does stand for People Eating Tasty Animals doesn't it?
