So I'm sitting here watching WESH in Orlando, and I just saw a commercial for Disney brand eggs. Yes, eggs. What makes them Disney you might ask? A stamp of a characters face on the shell, and a fancy carton. The ad goes on to tout that "Disney eggs are packed with nutrition" etc.

I'm curious who at Team Disney thought this was a good use of the brand....

Unfortunately Disney Company sold its soul a long time ago, and it will take a team to steal it back, and there's not one on the current board or senior management that seems capable.

I love Disney in its potential, but its lost so many "small" details that seperated itself and sold its brand to anyone who would pay the price.

That said, we were at the grocery store and we shop almost exclusively for organics and Dora the Explorer has her name plastered on Edemame beans.

I want Disney Eggs! Man we don't get nothin' up here in Va. :rotfl:

I hope you're joking ... Seriously.

RE: The eggs, it's amazing that they can come up with such utter schlock and expect people to buy it when they've totally admitted they're no longer capable of running a 5* Resort. Pathetic.

Iger's a slug.

I saw them last week at our grocery store. Really, I have to wonder, why? You crack the egg and throw the shell away, who cares what is stamped on it?

Donald Duck Orange Juice was introduced in 1940. Disney-branded food is nothing new, and certainly wasn't started by Bob Iger.

I think it's ridiculous too. I think it might get some takers though if they actually sold the Mickey shape thingy along with the eggs. (at least from what I saw). Without that, you just get plain old eggs.

Yeah I thought the same thing too, and thats why I couldnt understand why anyone would buy them....

The only thing I've wanted to buy that was food from Disney were those mickey shaped pumpkins they sell at The Land. I wish I could have one :)
But Disney eggs? That's just too much. :rotfl:

Ok I might get flamed for this, but I actually can see the concept behind this. It's geared towards kids. Eggs are good nutrition and slapping a stamp on them might encourage a kid to try it if they had no interest before. I do agree with the "sellout" factor. They did this a long time ago.

:rotfl: I just saw these last night in the grocery store - as much of a disney addict as I am - I agree with most of you - this is too much! But....that said, if I still had small kids at home - I'd probably buy them.......so who wins the $$$$ - Disney - of course.

I was at Publix the other day and they had Disney eggs. Now I love everything Disney as much as the next person, but these are just normal eggs with a cheapo single color stamp on them.

Just buy a couple of stamps all your child's favorite characters and then a pad of the ink and stamp your own eggs! Certainly much cheaper and just as effective.

Desperate times at Disney!
Want to buy a bridge in NY :scared1:

Following that line of crazy things...I work for a produce company in Wisconsin, and last fall we had DISNEY BANANAS. The box had Mickey on them and the little stickers had Mickey and Pluto and even Ratatouille. There is the following quote on the stickers: "Learn and Win at www.I-Farms.com" We bought a few extra so I could have the covers. And from what I understand Disney is going to be branching out more in this food field. So this egg thing doesn't suprise me. But if they come out with Disney meats(ie. Donald "ducks" or Brer "rabbits", etc.), I'm protesting.:confused3
