Has anyone heard of "perks" you get from wearing the top hat/bride ears? I keep hearing you get perks but no one can tell me the perks! Any info?

YES! most definetly! I have seen "ears" traveling around the parks and those with them getting moved to the front of lines, free deserts, special attention at shows, etc. There used to be a few posts about this on here about this. I would reccomend them, we are going to do it! I have even heard of a couple wearing them on an airplane on the way to their honeymoon and getting a free bottle of champagne and an announcement by the captain!

There is a website, www.mouseshoppe.com that we ordered from, and the bride ears are on a headband instead of the cap. I liked that better myslef, and they are nicer, covered in sequins and such. Take a look, see what you think.

I'm definitely going to be wearing mine but I will say that I know that any perk is not guaranteed so we're going with the flow and any little extras we get will be a bonus in making our honeymoon a most special time :)

Also wear the bride and groom pins as they attract attention too.

WE wore ours at airport and got upraded to first Class. Also while at WDW we got Cm lanyard pins at DTD pin traders, Mickey pixie dust in a heart on our table at Tony's Town Square, a compentary photo in front of fountain at Tony's. announced going into MGM, Lots of congrats from other vistiors of parks. Got characters trying to steal me from my DH, Rehitched at garden grill.

Some of this may have happened simply b/c when booking PS we told them we were on our honeymoon.

Good point fire14:

:Pinkbounc To all brides on honeymoon at WDW you must say that you are on your honeymoon whilst making your Priority Seatings - you never know what will happen :Pinkbounc

Where do you get the pins?

The handband ears looks a little big for me! There's no way my fiance is going to wear the hat either. I've never seen the pins you guys were talking about. Where can you get them? Online? Or DTD best bet? Thanks!

The problem with telling our perks is that people then come back and gripe that they didn't get the same thing. A lot of it depends on you as a couple - how approachable you look - on the day itself - whether the parks are really crowded or less busy - on the CM's - whether they are having a good day or a bad day. I have seen waaaay too many moans on the Resorts board that people didn't get free upgrades. It just makes me wary of listing all the things that we got on our Disney wedding trip. I know that some of the perks were because we were MARRIED at WDW, not just honeymooning - some were specifically related to our wedding, or our stay during our wedding.
Cheers!

I understand the reason for not listing the perks. I was on the knot the other day and some girl said she received a lot of perks because of honeymoon but wouldn't say what. My sister who honeymooned in Disney said she did the honeymoon package and she really didn't get perks. When she arrived there was a basket and bag waiting for them in their room but when walking around the park and she has the "old" hat nothing really happened. People said Congrats which was fine with her.

Last year, as a b-day present to my Mom (Queen) and my other sisters (Princess1, Princess2) I had tiaras made from one of the stores in Downtown Disney. A lady thought all three of my parents daughters were just married or renewed their vows because of them. Everyone said Congratulations and was watching us. My mom even had one on. It's was fun!

Erin - I got my pins from the Pin store at DTD oh and the pin store at Disney MGM by the attraction wait time boards.

Heather - totally understand what you are saying people just cannot go expecting things just because they are honeymooning. Any bit of pixie dust we get we're gonna hold on to as if it's the last :)

Thanks Sam!!!

Where's the pin store in DTD? Is it near the World of Disney store? You know the great big Disney Store that we spend our entire year salary there every time we walk in there?? They have a tons of pins in the World of Disney Store - wonder if they are in there?Or is there a whole seperate store for this? Looks like I'll be making a quick trip to DTD right when we get there so I can have this pin!!! ::yes::

Thanks!

And yes - I will just be grateful to have people be nice to us, no special treatment is expected. Just hope the rehitching ceremony goes well! We're doing that on our honeymoon at Garden Grille!!

Here are the perks we received:

*Bottle of champagne from airline (Southwest)
*Fastpasses from other guests
*$20 bill as a gift from another guest
*Free sundae at the place outside RnR
*Made "Family of Day" and given free photo and certificate at MGM
*Free certificate from Pooh and Eeyore
*Minnie and Mickey pictured in wedding gear left in our room
*Patio table for Illuminations at Rose & Crown
*Riding rides by ourselves (cast members let us board rides with the cars all to ourselves so we could get good ride pictures)
*Tons of congratulations from guests and cast members!!!

I wore my ears on my honeymoon but found that it was very hot and they were kind of uncomfortable..........we didn't get any "perks" while we were wearing them though. I ended up taking them off our 3rd day and not wearing them again. I had the headband so I couldn't imagine how hot the beanie would be!!!

I guess it is how approachable you look as we didn't get any kind of special treatment and we went in a value time!!! We weren't disappointed though because we weren't really expecting it at all.

HTH :teeth:

Sorry, no perks...just lots of DISNEY MAGIC.

Wear your bride & groom ears because you believe in the magic. Not because you're looking for perks. That's the great thing about Disney magic--you have to let it come to you. You just can't go out looking for it to happen.

Heather is absolutely right. It is very hard to talk about what we, as past brides, got. It will always be different for everyone. Some things you get may be tangible and some may just be unexpected expereinces which turn into wonderful memories.

There was LOTS of Disney magic during my wedding & honeymoon. Hopefully yours will be magical too!
