Disney Early Morning Magic - Details & Prices

You were referencing photo pass and I just wanted to point out how, as a part of the latest AP price increases/price gouging, mostly unwanted access to photo pass pictures were now touted as a benefit to justify part of the large price increase in the AP price. Disney manufactured a mandatory sale of Photopass access to a market that was not primarily interested in them (for various reasons like frequent trips and the ability to use their own cameras) to subsidize the cost of the program.

To clarify, you mentioned photopass and I took the opportunity to raise a different point to illustrate what Disney is doing to guests.

Ok. Thank you for clarifying. While I appreciate your point, the point I was trying to make was about EMH. As to the value/market of AP, I'm one of those come every two or three years guys so I don't really have a comparison for you.

Since riding 7DMT was an unintended perk of early BOG, it's not "affecting" them at all. It was a bonus that some got, but no one was entitled to, and now some can pay for the privilege of.

That is kind of my point. Most people do BOG to get early ride access. People have even posted on here that they have not even gone to BOG. They book the ADR, get into the park, hang around and take photos, get on 7DMT early and take the $10pp cancel fee. Now that they have the early morning hours, I was wondering what they will do with these BOG folks. From what I have read, they currently walk them to the mine train and let them ride a few times before the masses come. I was wondering if they will hold them at BOG, start ADRs later so people are not done eating and hanging around, or let them go ahead and ride early. Will be interesting to see.

Doesn't Disneyland already have something like this in place that allows off-site guests morning EMH access for a fee?

Off site Disneyland guests who have a 3 day or longer ticket get into DL one day one hour early. It is set days.

On site hotel guests get in one hour early everyday to both parks.

DCA is open early 4 days and DL 3. Early hour at DL is very very busy since most people have 3, 4 or 5 day tickets!

Not that I know of...Off-site guests with certain tickets (e.g., 3-day or longer, pre-purchased tickets) are eligible for one Magic Morning during their stay, but it's not an add-on to a ticket (i.e., either your ticket has MM included or it doesn't, you can't add it on later).

One more straw. Add it to the pile. Getting really close to kissing Disney goodbye. Blahblahblah change is good. Baloney. This is not change for the better. This is not change that benefits the average family. This is greedy, money grubbing change. I have a trip planned for june this year with just DW. That is looking like the last time I'll be giving Disney my vacation money. Just sick of it.

They won't have a sticker, so they simply won't be allowed on the rides until 9am.

But it always was to their advantage. They filled early morning ADRs that might otherwise have not been filled. I believe they don't leave any of these 'loopholes' open unless they feel they're benefitting in some way.

Absolutely!

I'm a DVC member too... this is another whole issue as why more DVC people are questioning on selling their points. The perks are not what they once were...and yes we pay dues... alot! But that's for the DVC Boards.

But you were promised a room and nothing else when you Bought DVC... IN fact a room only at the resort you purchased.. a lot of perks have come and went in all the years we owned and expected as they are perks not part of the DVC contract. If you are thinking of selling your points this is great time as prices are high because so many people want to buy.... Mickey will waive to you at your closing and give the new owner a warm welcome home.
selling your points because you lost a perk makes as much sense as those cancelling BOG early reservations because of they can not get on rides early... neither was ever included in the purchase price.

My wife would gladly pay 69 for early access as 149 for the late access we can right now and it may make her and our son happy... would I protest it.... yes for having to get up at 6 in the morning or stay up to 12 at night to go on rides then the extra money....but I will loose in the end.. It is a lot of money but... Lets face it... 140+ (my son is 10) for 3 to eat at breakfast at chef Mickey 210 for this does it really matter they are both way overpriced...

Otherwise I will simply do as before get there around rope drop and follow our normal path that has worked for us for the past 15+ years...our path was learned after a good amount of other years of stumbling upon popular rides with no lines at certain times of the day.

Wish my tickets weren't linked to my MDE, I would sell them. But maybe in 5 or so years I'll want to go back.

I bet you a buck that if the BOG folks cannot get on an attraction pre RD, the number of those folks will drop back.
Exactly.
People were already "paying" for this perk by doing an overpriced BOG breakfast. So Disney just made it official. Disney probably saw that the number of cancellations (or getting very little to eat) for these early breakfasts and realized that people were just willing to pay $10/person for early access to the park.

So why not make close the "loophole" and make it an official event where they can officially control it and make it available to more than just people able to score an early BOG breakfast reservation.

I don't see what people are complaining about. WE created the demand .. Disney is just filling it. And to expect them to fill a demand FOR FREE is just silly.

I haven't been to a DVC sales presentation, but I'm guessing they talked about more perks than "just a room".

I just think the bold line is funny. Guests have grown used to the ability to have a more empty park for castle picture and ride 7DMT before the park opens... and CMs are used to not having to continually be to work so early... both are used to the current status quo and both will whine about it.

I think both will get used to it. Work hours change for companies all the time.
New employess coming in after the change won't complain b/c it is an expectation of work. If I was an hourly employee I would love the added hours.

My comment wasn't specific to the morning event, just park employees in general.

I don't think their morning full-timers will care much as many are more "mature" adults and would be happy to come in early.
My DD worked in the parks and have very good friend now.
Your morning/day employees are a lot of older full timers. They do their hours they are allowed to work and leave.
Disney doesn't hand out overtime easily. I met many who have to have a second job.
Younger full timers have to earn their time and work the evenings and into the dark of night. Many times much longer hours than most can imagine.
When the night event news broke (too early since MK CMs hadn't even been told) we actually told our friend. She was VERY UPSET.
Imagine working 4 pm to 3 am and later back to back to back for MINIMAL pay.
Then be told you have to take days off no pay because you worked too much.
Disney is not normal work, not normal industry and there are lots of educated young people trying to live the dreams, pay their dues and move up that are going to walk.
DD already left. She, like many, had Disney forever as a dream. Then reality.

And do you know what is one of their biggest complaint besides hours and pay ............. guest behavior. And it's only going to get worse. Isn't that sad.

I'll be honest, I think this is a great idea. EMH are not every single morning and neither is this event. I cannot see any reason this will effect EMH at all, and in fact this gives you an opportunity to be in the park with even less people if that is a wish of yours. Maybe I am missing something but as long as this is an optional upgrade to EMH with no effect on standard EHM mornings; I hope similar options open for the other parks. And incorporating the breakfast with Characters would put it over the top as well.

Here are some of the details again:
Rising with the sun on select mornings, Disney Early Morning Magic gives you the chance to be among the first to enter Magic Kingdom park and experience a trio of Fantasyland attractions:

  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Peter Pan’s Flight.
Plus, in addition to the early-morning fun, you can get your fill of a fantastic continental breakfast at Pinocchio Village Haus—featuring such scrumptious breakfast fare as:

  • Chilled juices, coffee and teas
  • Seasonal fruit and berries
  • Freshly baked pastries
  • Cheese and cured meats
  • Scrambled eggs with assorted toppings
  • Vegetable frittata
  • Smoked bacon
  • Pork and turkey sausages
  • Fried potatoes with caramelized onions
  • Mickey Waffles
Available with the purchase of a separate ticket, Disney Early Morning Magic takes place on select dates from 7:45 AM to 10:00 AM. However, admission is limited—be sure to buy your tickets before it’s too late!

Admission to Disney Early Morning Magic is available $69 per adult and $49 per child (tax not included).

Yes, unfortunately when people pay crazy high prices for things they tend to have high expectations. I can see where that would be problematic for cast members.
