Disney DxDP - Did I Plan Too Much?

Hi,
We're frequent travelers to Disney, but this is the first time we'll be doing the DDP - and we're going Deluxe!! We're staying at AKL.

DH and I (both in our 40's), usually dine in Signature restaurants for dinner, and a mix of CS and TS for lunch. That's the main reason why I upgraded our plan. I felt that the regular DDP restricted us to too many CS's compared to what we usually choose OOP.

This trip we're traveling with DS(21) and his girlfriend (21).

The caveat - I had weight loss surgery last year, and can only eat SMALL amounts. That being said, I'm still a "foodie" at heart and will enjoy sampling different things, even though I wont be able to finish. DH is also a foodie. DS's GF likes almost anything and is fond of seafood, salads, etc. DS is a meat and potatoes kind of guy but will find something on any menu, even if he orders a filet, chicken, etc with no sauce.

So....here's what I have planned for us. I'm wondering if this is too much planning and if I should open up some lunches to more spontaneous CS options. Hmmmm.....what do you all think of my choices? Oh yea, we typically eat breakfast on the go - I do a protein shake at the hotel, the others will use snack credits for something. We will have a few leftover credits so maybe a CS breakfast or two can be worked in.

Would love feedback!
Thanks

I count that you only used up 25 of your 27 TS credits. I don't think you planned too much, afterall you are going Deluxe. However, since you didn't add in the times of your meals you might worry that some things are planned too close together. Maybe instead of all those lunches you could go for a couple late breakfasts/brunches just to space things out a bit. I'm sure your son has gone with you to Disney before, but has his girlfriend been there yet? She might get a kick out of a character meal or 2. When I took my girlfriend on her first trip it was great seeing her act like some of the 5 year olds when the characters came around.... priceless.

We did a week of Deluxe in January and loved it. We just planned to be in the park where we wanted to eat most days and went to resort TS for suppers. We ate at a alot of your choices and loved them all. Just try to use up those last couple of credits you don't want them to go to waste:) We booked all of our meals and we did end up cancelling a couple because we were too tired or wanted to change parks. But we had DD5 along so that's a bit different. No problem though, we just called and cancelled and did CS instead. If you are staying at Deluxe hotel you could call and get room service for breakfast one morning and that will use your extra credits. My advice is don't get pizza from room service though , at least at the CR. I don't think you've overplanned at all. Have a great time  I hope you write a dining review when you get back ;)

I don't think you've over-planned at all. In my opinion though, you may want to consider doing a later breakfast instead of lunch or making sure you have a good bit of time between meals because they do serve a ton of food.

We usually have breakfast around 8-8:30 and dinner as close to 6 as possible, and do so with only a small snack in between to tide us over

I wouldn't worry about WLS surgery. Yes, you will eat very small portions, but just enjoy what you can eat! Don't worry about what goes wasted. I hate reading posts from post-WLS patients who want to order from the child's menu. Personally the kid's menu at most WDW restaurants are filled with fat and fried foods. Stick to what sounds yummy and at least semi on plan and don't worry about wasted food. There is no prize, other than a wide butt, for finishing all your food.

If your son is like most growing boys he will probably plow thru your remaining credits for CS breakfasts. Boys are like bottomless pits.

This is what we do and why we get the delux plan. We do a 1 credit TS for lunch and a signature almost every night. Not every night just because we also do lunch in arrival day and an extra credit is either left over it if we have an early lunch we'll grab lunch one day too. I think going to a TS lunch in the middle of the day is a better choice than a CS.

We also do deluxe for the character breakfasts and signature restaurants. Actually, with the DxDP you have to plan ahead so that you can get all your ressies.

Enjoy!!!!!!
