Disney DVD!

Did anyone else order the Disney DVD from the Disney World website? My family did and we love it !I must watch it at least once a day. It also comes with a CD-ROM planning guide, which is great for getting started on a Disney trip, and guides you through each step. It really gets you into the disney spirit, and I REALLY recommend it even if you dont have a trip already booked, but if you do it really helps to pass the time . I think you can order it when you book your Disney stay and they'll send it with all of your aother info. Anyone else order the DVD?

We have many of these things. We even have some of the old videos. My kids love these. We watch them all the time. I have to admit I love them too.

I love watching these-- however, the ones I watch the most are the older-style ones from 2-3 years ago. The new, hip style DVD I don't like quite as much. I don't hate it, by any means, but at least on the old-style DVD I don't have to hear "Luke the Annoying Thrill Guy."

Luke is the most annoying, fake, ridiculous character ever created by WDW. I say created b/c nobody is really like that. There are better ways to try to make the DVD interesting to younger viewers.

at first i happened to like luke.... then he didn't even bring it down 1 notch... and i got sick of it.

but what about the guy that sit's on the bench...i forgot his name.... but that got annoying really fast too!!!

I actually like the new disney video. Although I also find the characters to be quirky and somewhat annoying, that's the way disney video guides have always been, and what makes it so hilarious to watch! But that doesn't mean I never pull out the older videos to watch.

I love all the planning DVD's and videos. Last night the most tragic thing happened. I was watching the Magical Gatherings old planning video from about 4 years ago and it broke on me. I took it apart and tried to fix it, but it was a lost cause. Really was a bummer. Thank goodness I still have plenty others, but that one was one of my favorites. It's the one that started out with the introduction of "You got a friend in me".

I'm not crazy about the new DVD, but my 7 year old DS loves Luke. He thinks he's cool. I don't really care for him that much. I like Dave because he reminds me of myself on vacation, except I do like the thrill rides. Stacey seems fairly normal as well. If Luke would have said Sweet one more time I think I might have blown up my DVD player. Drives you nuts!

I have a HUGE collection of those video's starting from there first year.
Before they gave them out for free they sold one in the Disney Store that was sponserd by Delta when Delta was the offical Airlines of WDW. I have not watched it ina long time But I believe that is before MGM was built.
I have started to copy my old ones onto DVD now so that I don't wear them out and cannot use see them again.

I love the DVDs (but I agree, I think the style of the older ones were better). My DH has never been to Disney World before, and a few months back I decided I wanted to go. He is a workaholic so I knew I had to use the DVD to get him to want to go. About an hour into the DVD he was ready!! I think the car tricks thing at MGM really got him wanting to go. Those DVDs must be hypnotic, but I love them!!

I received the Disneyland 50th Celebration DVD today and guess who makes an appearance...the mother and two kids from the "I'm too excited to sleep!" commercial.
There is one very quick shot of the little girl as well as a brief shot of all three of them. That shot is also used in the DVC section of the DVD.

I like the planning video- DS watched it everyday for 3 months straight leading up to last year's trip. We still have an extra copy of it in the car for him to watch.

We are really looking forward to a new one to go with the new celebration starting this fall!!!

That being said, I didn't mind this past video, but the one that plays at the parks and on the resort TV I could live with out. That girl drove me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will have to get the new DVD. The one you can call and get for free, right? I picked up an old video at a garage sale for 10-25 cents. I thought it would be worth it! If you love the old videos, look at garage sales, especially ones with kids' items!

Heres my take on the actors and actresses.

LUKE =Dosent bother me that much, but a little cheesey at some points .

STACY=Hey, shes a nice girl and all but,I DIDNT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING SHE SAID!
ERIN =Shes awsome, she didnt give the best tips, but she made the video come to life with magic, great personality, and got me syched up.

DAVE(BENCH GUY) =ANNOYING!!!! Who pays like,$3000 to go sit on benches all day! Come on now!
