Has anyone been to disneyland during the week of thanksgiving or the week of xmas? We are trying to figure out when to go.

I don't want it to be super busy. We went the week before easter this year and it was really busy.

Thanks
Michele

yes to both....and they are 2 of the busiest times of the year....week before easter is nothing compared to then....however, if you can go the week after thanksgiving or the first couple of weeks in dec. you will have minimal crowds and you will see all the holiday festivities in full swing

The week of Christmas is CRAZY busy! We will never do it again. In fact, our teenagers would rather not go to DL then go during a busy week like that again. We usually go the first week or two of December and don't bring the kids. We are thinking of make a trip in August so the kids can go too.

Are you trying to work around school schedules?

We've made many visits to Disneyland the week before and the week after Christmas and the park is very busy during those times. If you want to avoid crowds at Disneyland, you have to go when school is not in session. If you go during a federal holiday(or even some state holidays) you will find increased crowds.

Your best bet for low crowds is the first 2 weeks of December(not counting weekends).

Thanks for your information. I was really afford of this. I was really hoping to go then. No we are not worried about school. My son is only 13 months old right now. LOL My dh's work is closing the week of thanksgiving and the week after xmas. We were hoping to go around then. I guess not now!!!

Thanks again.

I went the week before thanksgiving last year. it wasnt that bad during the week days. we were able to cover most of both parks in the first two days. the weekend was crazy. didnt get on many rides and long lines.

We went the week of Thanksgiving last year, getting there on Sunday. It was busier everyday it got closer to Thankgiving. I heard the week prior wasn't nearly as busy and you still have the magical Christmas decorations .

I think I am leaning toward going the first or second week of december.

Thanks again.
I also noticed I can't spell. In my last post I meant I was afraid of that not afford. Hehee. guess what is on my mind. Not being able to afford this. heehee.

We have been going to disneyland the days right after thanksgiving every year 6 years running, and it is such a great time to go. the friday and saturday after thanksgiving are reallly busy, but sunday, monday tuesday after that are amazingly light, but yet the parks still stay open pretty late and have most of the great shows and such running, so it works out really well. have tons of fun
