But...sorry that your Kouzina ADR was canceled. Aww...we love Crystal Palace but the time does seem early. Plus, it seems that Captain's Grille would fit better with your original plans.

I know! I can't wait to see it I'll be trying for the panoramic shots with my camera for sure that night. Are you going to go to Beaches afterward?

OOOh I wish my camera had a setting to take panoramic shots, that'll be awesome! We've never been to Beaches'n'Cream before and I never really thought about going until I read your PTR. Our dinner reservation is at 8:30 and i definitely want to check out all three Boardwalk resorts that night to see their Christmas decorations so if I happen to lead my mom in Beaches 'n' cream I don't think she would protest...

Oh Yeaaaaaah!!! Love the feeling of paying off a trip!!! I just did the same thing on Friday Morning!!! Not only does it make the trip seem that much closer but makes it feel that much more real!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!

I think I did this counting thing once before and figured out Widget's countdown takes me to the day before we leave. Then of course I completely ignored the XX-hours part of the countdown.....

Woo hoo, thanks for the boogie! Yes, as much as I hate giving up Crystal Palace, I talked to George and he prefers Captain's Grille too. Once the reservation system is fully backup I'll post CP on the December ADRs Cancelled thread for someone to pick up.

I'm vowing to take panoramic shots at every place we visit this trip, I didn't take near enough last time.

We'll be checking out the Boardwalk area and the resorts for the Christmas decorations so we easily could run into you again at Beaches toward the end of the night.

Free Dining! .... mostly


Part of my trip covers the black out dates. So from November 27th to December 2nd we have free dining upgraded from quick service to the basic dining and then December 3rd to the 7th, we're paying the full price of the basic dining plan.

In the end, we:
* saved $1,400
* added another park day
* added another ADR, counter service meal and snack
* saved on the out of pocket meal we would have purchased on arrival day
* saved on the out of pocket Play 'n Dine meal

Yippee!!

I'm only this far, but I have to ask, why are you paying for the basic diningplan for these dates? If you are booked by Dec 2nd, your whole trip should be covered with free dining. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Hello there! to my PTR!

The CM I was on the phone with originally missspoke and told me that's how it worked. I'd never booked during a blackout period but it sounded weird to me so when I called back later the same week they clarified no, I had it for the entire trip.

Also did you get your Boardwalk ADR fixed then? I hope it all worked out for you.
I have bought those same peral cages. I bought them last Spring when I saw them on a TR and have been holding on to them for our next trip, which hopefully is in Dec if all goes as planned.

Kathryn is Alex's girlfriend. They met through mutual friends and she lives three hours by car away from us so they don't get to spend a whole lot of time with one another. George and I talked about it, then asked Alex if he'd like to ask her to come with us. It meant us moving from one room at POR to two rooms at the Pop, but it's her first time to WDW and she's incredibly excited.

When the Kouzina ADR fell thru I made the two backup reservations at Crystal Palace and Captain's Grille, both at times though that I wasn't really
happy with. I decided on Captain's Grille and they moved the reservation time up to fit in with our plans for the day.

I love the pearl cages I hope you get to use them this December! When are your dates? I'll have to hop over to your PTR from home when I can see pictures.

Hi everyone! In my last update I said I would do a supplemental update about Epcot character meets. Are you familiar with WDWCharacterHunt ? It's a great site that updates all the time with information and maps on where to find characters in each park.


Here's maps for MK, DHS and AK....

Each numbered spot has a corresponding location listing with all of the characters that are known, rumored or confirmed to be there. I'm really hoping to see Megara (from Hercules), Prince Charming, Marie and Bolt along with my other favorites.

Have any of you submitted a memory to the Let the Memories Begin website? I did one for Ariana's first meeting with Snow White in 2006 -- the one where my camera failed seconds before she was to meet all of the Princesses for the first time..... If you'd like, you can read it HERE




Guess what Ariana is going to be for what will probably be her last year of trick or treating? I was out shopping and actually found an adult costume for her with a little bit of growing room in it....

We'll gussy her up the day of with a crown and sparkles, and it comes with the blue sash for her neck and hair.




I also found this for Demetri.

He is completely enamored with fire fighters right now. A while ago the stations in our City were having open houses and kids could see the emergency vehicles with a charitable food donation.


He got to sit in the fire truck....

and turn on the lights.....

He was thrilled!

Last Tuesday was Demetri's pick for movie night and I had to veto his first selection. He was rushing, and for the sake of picking something quickly, he chose Homeward Bound II. Now we really like the first Homeward Bound, but although we'd picked up HB II at a garage sale, we hadn't actually watched it yet. There's way too many other movies we haven't seen for movie night yet, so I asked him to choose another and started reading out titles to him. He stopped me when we got to this movie and very excitedly told me he really, really wanted to watch this one.....

.... and I was all to happy to agree! What is not to love about this movie? It's so sad to me that Julie Andrews can't sing anymore. Such a beautiful, beautiful voice.



Ariana was sitting in the chair next to me and kept asking me, "Go ahead Ariana?" which means, "Can I let loose and sing and dance?" So when it came time to clean up the nursery and she asked, "Go ahead Ariana?" I said, "Yes Ariana, go ahead" and much to my surprise she just started singing the heck out of "Spoonful of Sugar" while skipping around the living room. Such articulation! Now if I could just harness that energy.....

I just love how Mary's medicine is r-r-rum punch!

And now we're up to today's movie night! Actually, one step backward to two things that were waiting for me when I came home.

First......

Second......

My little guy went to the dentist this morning and had a bit of freezing done. He'd apparantly bitten his lip sometime throughout the day and though he couldn't feel anything and it didn't hurt, he had one ugly looking bottom lip. Of course, today was picture day at school too.


So, back to movie night. It was Alex's choice tonite and he picked....

Great timing! Countdown movie night to our Christmas trip with Halloween right around the corner.


Just one teeny problem.

But......


I didn't like it.


I know you and Lou love this movie and while I really, really like the character of Jack Skellington, Pumpkin King.... I didn't like the movie. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood to watch it? I was really looking forward to seeing it so I don't think that was it. I just thought it'd gone a little too far in the weirdness and scariness that is Halloween.

Maybe I should be tipsy the next time I see it. Things are always funnier when you've had a few too many....

Alex had already seen it before and loved it and thought I was nuts that I didn't like it.



In any case, it was time to take another LGMH and link down, and like Natalie (Tinkermom76) did in her PTR, I'm showing before's and after's of our countdown chain.

I hate to say it, but I don't like that movie either. I saw it when it first came out years ago. My son really wanted to see it, but we both thought it was pretty bad...and really weird. I've never watched it again since then.
I know tons of people love it though.
