DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

I have not yet read Kingdom Keepers, but I just put it on my reserve list for the library! I am always looking for new books to read and this sounds perfect!

Yippee!! for saving $350!:cheer2: I don't know about ts and take out:confused3 I didn't read the Kingdom Keepers books are they good? What are they about?

I would think the water parks would be cold in dec. but I like the water to be like bathwater.

I hope you find some flip flops you like. I went to get some disney ones on Friday and they were all sold out:sad2:

I have Kingdom Keepers 1. I had it from the library (Mason Library Margaret-Moparop) but I returned it ohh a few weeks ago and ended up just going to Barnes and Noble and buying it for $8. I've been trying to study for my Praxis teaching test so the Kingdom Keepers has been placed on the back burner until after 8/24!!!

1. Little britches
2? ...no clue. I have the DVD, I was tempted to cheat but I won't!
3. Falling in love?

I am not sure on the take out question, but do not think it would be cheating Disney at all to do. My son and I shared almost every meal last trip on the dining plan, we always asked if if was okay and all the places said it was fine to do. Its not like your getting extra food, just eating less that what comes with the plan so you can share!!!

I have NO idea on the first two trivia questions!! I think the third one is ixnay on the wishing for more wishes though.

No idea on the takeout. I think you could share entrees at a TS as long as it's not a buffet. :confused3 Just order an appetizer OOP for the others and say you are sharing. I think that would be okay.

That's exactly where I reserved it from! ;)

Yay for Demetri getting his own library card!! I've tried to take the boys every other week this summer. Right now, they are signed up for the summer library program. If they read so many books they get a free ice cream certificate plus a pizza party at the end of the summer. Ariana sounds like me!:rotfl: I'm always on the lookout for anything Disney...usually the first place I go is to the Disney travel guides. Oh and I just started reading Kingdom Keepers III...I like it so far!:thumbsup2

Hmm...I'm not sure on the TS and takeout?

Demetri was so happy getting his card. After he'd picked his two books, we read them at our table. Then he spotted the table where kids were reporting their books to the librarian and he wanted to check it out. Turns out it was the summer reading program and he joined too! :cool1: Ours is a jungle theme.

I'll give the trivia a try.......

1. Little Britches

2. I can't remember.:confused3

3. wishing for more wishes

Two out of three! :woohoo:

Make sure you reserve the second and third ones too! :thumbsup2

I've enjoyed two of the three I've read so far. They're about a group of teens part of a holographic attraction at MK that has.... complications. ;)

 Well I gotta say I like it a little more refreshing then bathwater, but I don't really like it when the air is cooler then the water. We'll have to see how it goes when we're there.

I found my flip flops, just not in my size. Grrrr. I did find a similar one with a slight wedge on it. Not sure how that will go.

Really? If they let us do that, it would be perfect! Did you have extras left over because you were sharing?

You are correct on the ixnay one. Answers on the other two coming up.

I really thought all six of us wouldn't be able to be at the reservation and only order four things. Sounds like it's not an issue! :woohoo:

Oh no!! I hope everything works out with the stolen wallet.

1. Big Thunder Mountain

2. Pirates of the Caribbean

3. I think it's Piglet. That is what first popped into my head so that is what I'm going with.

I know how much that sucks losing your wallet and how many people that you have to get in touch with. One thing that you shouldn't forget about is Heath cards.

And for the questions

1.) Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road
2.) Pirates of the Caribbean
3.) Piglit

I say this with the utmost affection :lovestruc, but the big dummy left his wallet hidden inside his truck with the windows down. That being said, it was stolen in the middle of the day, right out of our driveway in front of our neighbours and on a busy street! So brazen! I can't even blame it on the neighbourhood, we live in a great area and this is the first problem we've ever had in thirteen years. :sad1:

They didn't take long to use the credit card for a cash advance out of an ATM machine. It was right around the corner from our place and they got 100 bucks. Just that alone put a flag on our account and my theory is they were blocked from any other attempts because of it.

Your husbands wallet stolen !?! Ugh! What a PITA!!!

Very big PITA! He had the pin chip technology on his credit card, but guess where he stored the pin code?! :headache:

I just talked with him about an hour ago and he rhymed off all the things he's had replaced. Fees for almost all of it of course. Luckily he had no cash in it at the time!

I knew all the answers! I'm sorry that the wallet was stolen :( Were you at a store or hotel or something?? When we went on vacation to CO a few years ago, my dad accidently threw his away in the trash since it was sitting on the table with the newspaper. He said he will FOR SURE be more careful next time since he even had his SS card in there which now is in the lock box (not sure why it wasn't to begin with?!) Thankfully we didn't have any issues at the airport since he also carried his passport!

Yikes he threw it away? That stinks. Luckily George didn't have his social insurance card in his wallet. THAT could have been horrible!

Actually I forgot to add to the brazen-ness (is that a word?) of the situation by saying that we were home at the time! Our bay window fronts onto the driveway and only a garden separates the distance of about maybe 10 feet. If we'd walked into the room, we would have caught them. As it was, we were in the back living room playing Wii.

:thumbsup2 The water parks and more option was dropped from our park tickets.

That about sums up what I’ve shared with you all so far. Now is the time to start breaking down our plans for each day, starting with….

Arrival Day

We’ve done a variety of different things on our arrival day. On our first trip, we had an early flight out of Buffalo that had us arriving at the Pop just before lunch. Our room was ready so while George and an 18 month old Demetri napped, the rest of us explored the gift shop.

We then packed up and headed to the MK for a late lunch with Winnie the Pooh and gang.

(Our first ever Castle picture!)

The perfect introduction to Walt Disney World… the Crystal Palace.

2006_0901Disney20069.jpg

After Crystal Palace I have no idea what we did at MK because I have not one stinking picture the rest of the day. My how things have changed!

Last year, we had a mid day flight out of Buffalo that had us arriving at the Pop just before dinner. To save a bit on costs I’d opted for room only reservations our first day. Our rooms were ready and while George was off getting a rental car for the day, the rest of us had a boys versus girls picture scavenger hunt around the resort.

2009_0815pics0101.jpg

(Girls rule and boys drool!)

While George and Alex then went to Walmart in the rental car for room snackies and souvenirs, the rest of us had a refreshing swim. We then all hopped into the rental and had dinner at McDonalds before coming back to the rooms to crash for the night.

This time around, we again have a mid day flight out of Buffalo that has us scheduled to arrive at the Pop likely just before dinner. No scavenger hunt this time, and I’m not sure what the weather will be like, so chances are we’ll head straight to Walmart for souvenirs and room snackies, then on to dinner. The difference this time around is I went ahead and got the dining plan for our first day so instead of McDonalds, we can grab a counter service at the Pop.

I really like getting our souvenirs at Walmart on the first day. They usually have the same items that are sold in the parks at half the cost, so taking our time and choosing everything as soon as we get there lets us discriminate more when buying stuff in the parks or the resort. It works for us.

So that in a nutshell is our arrival day!

Now I have a question for you all before today’s The ABC’s of Disney multiple choice question. I’d earlier mentioned the four ‘extra’ table services I have. Using them on our last day, we have time for a breakfast ADR that is not a buffet so we can share them amongst the six of us.

I’ve narrowed my choices down to:

whisperingcanyon.jpg

Whispering Canyon Café in Wilderness Lodge

WCC didn’t make the earlier cut for this trip but it was going to be a must-do for our next one. One of my objectives this trip is to resort hop to see all the Christmas decorations and booking an ADR here ‘forces’ us to get there. It has the all-you-care-to-eat skillet, but I’m hoping as long as we order off the menu instead, there won’t be an issue sharing. This is the one I’m leaning towards.

*OR*

DSC00029.jpg

Grand Floridian Café at the Grand Floridian Spa & Resort

This is my backup to WCC if they don’t allow the sharing. I’ve heard really nice things about this place and I’d be happy if we went, but we’ve already got another ADR for the Grand Floridian.

So… what do you think? I’ve never been to either, have you? Would a breakfast reservation at Wilderness Lodge be tricky to get to? Never having done anything other than packing up and leaving on our last day, will the Pop hold our luggage until it’s time to get on the DME?

With that, it’s on to The ABC’s of Disney:

C is for.....

1-Cinderella
2-Chicken Little
3-Cars

Which movie has this quote: Now, where to begin? How about, “Once upon a time”? How many times have you heard that to begin a story? Let’s do something else.

Fake Bonus points: Who said it?
