.
Arrival Day
Weve done a variety of different things on our arrival day. On our first trip, we had an early flight out of Buffalo that had us arriving at the Pop just before lunch. Our room was ready so while George and an 18 month old Demetri napped, the rest of us explored the gift shop.
We then packed up and headed to the MK for a late lunch with Winnie the Pooh and gang.
(Our first ever Castle picture!)
The perfect introduction to Walt Disney World
the Crystal Palace.
After Crystal Palace I have no idea what we did at MK because I have not one stinking picture the rest of the day. My how things have changed!
Last year, we had a mid day flight out of Buffalo that had us arriving at the Pop just before dinner. To save a bit on costs Id opted for room only reservations our first day. Our rooms were ready and while George was off getting a rental car for the day, the rest of us had a boys versus girls picture scavenger hunt around the resort.
(Girls rule and boys drool!)
While George and Alex then went to
Walmart in the rental car for room snackies and souvenirs, the rest of us had a refreshing swim. We then all hopped into the rental and had dinner at McDonalds before coming back to the rooms to crash for the night.
This time around, we again have a mid day flight out of Buffalo that has us scheduled to arrive at the Pop likely just before dinner. No scavenger hunt this time, and Im not sure what the weather will be like, so chances are well head straight to Walmart for souvenirs and room snackies, then on to dinner. The difference this time around is I went ahead and got the dining plan for our first day so instead of McDonalds, we can grab a counter service at the Pop.
I really like getting our souvenirs at Walmart on the first day. They usually have the same items that are sold in the parks at half the cost, so taking our time and choosing everything as soon as we get there lets us discriminate more when buying stuff in the parks or the resort. It works for us.
So that in a nutshell is our arrival day!
Now I have a question for you all before todays The ABCs of Disney multiple choice question. Id earlier mentioned the four extra table services I have. Using them on our last day, we have time for a breakfast ADR that is not a buffet so we can share them amongst the six of us.
Ive narrowed my choices down to:
Whispering Canyon Café in Wilderness Lodge
WCC didnt make the earlier cut for this trip but it was going to be a must-do for our next one. One of my objectives this trip is to resort hop to see all the Christmas decorations and booking an ADR here forces us to get there. It has the all-you-care-to-eat skillet, but Im hoping as long as we order off the menu instead, there wont be an issue sharing. This is the one Im leaning towards.
*OR*
Grand Floridian Café at the Grand Floridian Spa & Resort
This is my backup to WCC if they dont allow the sharing. Ive heard really nice things about this place and Id be happy if we went, but weve already got another ADR for the Grand Floridian.
So
what do you think? Ive never been to either, have you? Would a breakfast reservation at Wilderness Lodge be tricky to get to? Never having done anything other than packing up and leaving on our last day, will the Pop hold our luggage until its time to get on the DME?
With that, its on to The ABCs of Disney:
C is for.....
1-Cinderella
2-Chicken Little
3-Cars
Which movie has this quote: Now, where to begin? How about, Once upon a time? How many times have you heard that to begin a story? Lets do something else.
