I realise theres a DCL forum, but was interested in the opinion of the Brits that have been on the Dream - Pros, Cons?? any Brit Tips?!!!

Anything specific you want to know?
The buffet (Cabanas) is 10 times better than the old ships.
Finding somewhere to sit in peace and have a family drink is impossible, we loved sitting in the promanade lounge, nothing like that on the Dream.
Food OK on Dream but a bit more arty, needed 2 entrees each evening(I am a little greedy though)
Found the food kiosks always closed when we wanted them, not sure if they are different times to the older ships or we wanted to eat differently this year.
Pirate night the stairs up and down to the open deck were useless, people just stopped and blocked, I had to get to the bottom and stop anyone else going up til a few people got down.
We sailed in August and got a great price $1,600 for 4 night for 3 adults, same cruise next August over $3,000, can't see us cruising Disney again for a while.
Ask anything else you want to know.

Thanks Wayne, we have booked for next November. Most of the reviews are good, but the bad reviews are really BAAAD!! We have booked a 3 night Bahamian as we are taking the Kids (7 and 5) for the first time. Our only other experience of cruising was a 7 night Disney Magic cruise before we had children. We plan on a night at the Hyatt at MCO (maybe) before, then 10-12 nights at a Disney resort post cruise. We are booked to sail on Nov 1st, so will arrange the rest of the holiday around the flight prices!!

One of the main criticisms seems to be that there are not enough public areas on the ship for the number of people on it? and that port Canaveral can't handle the number of people trying to embark? any thoughts?

We got to the port as it opened (about 15 mins early so had to circle the carpark once before they opened) no problems at all at the port, just as easy as before.
The only family bar was the worst place on the ship, flashing walls, couldn't hear yourself talk etc.

I'll post my thoughts as we were a family of 4 (daughters aged 5 and 3) plus mother in law on the Dream as our first ever cruise this year.

It was brilliant. I wholeheartedly agree that there is just nowhere for a family to sit other than cabanas buffet or on deck and just sit quietly for a chat.

Other than that, it was flipping brilliant. We've now booked a 5 night for July next year and a 7 night Caribbean on the Fantasy for 2013. That shows how impressed we were. Everything from the food to the entertainment and degree of luxury was 5*. Very impressed and think you have nothing to worry about.

My only tip is get orange juice in cups during breakfast and put it in your fridge for later as you'll struggle to get OJ at any other time of the day without paying for it! If like our family your kids love OJ, it's critical!!! There really is very little juice onboard. Luckily the girls got a taste for the strange breakfast/tropical juice they have a lot more of.

Disney are now allocating 'Port arrival times' when you do online check-in to try and control the number of people in the terminal. There seems to be some discussion over whether they are fully enforcing it though.

We had a 'suggested' port arrival time for August gone, however as Wayne said, we arrive just before the port opened, did one S L O W circuit of the entrance and after parking - check in was a breeze. For the price we paid for the cruise, I want to spend as much time on board - enjoying the facilities

We had a great time on the dream and found a very peaceful sopt away from the mAin pool area just keep going up and head forwards, lots of loungers and very quiet. Beds were so comfy, staff very attentive, lots of food,wish we could go again

I was worried as our room 2030 had had a bad review, but we had no problems at all and loved the location.

Thank you, I must get round to writing up my last day!

But we loved the dream . It was different to the magic and wonder but despite being full the crowding wasn't as bad as we thought it would be! Obviously on sea day the pools were full, but deck 4 had great comfty loungers and was a quiet spot.
