Disney Dream -- what floor should I stay on?

I've only been on the Dream once, and we were on deck 8. Mostly because I wanted to experience the virtual porthole, and my choices were a bit limited.

On most ships (not just DCL) we prefer deck 2 Oceanview rooms.

It rather depends on what (if any) things you'd like to have better access to. Dining rooms are aft on decks 2 &3. Adult entertainment area also aft. Buffet aft on deck 11.

Theaters are forward on decks 2/3 & 5. Pools are midship (family pools) on deck 11, adult pool also deck 11 but forward.

Also depends on what type of room you want. Oceanview rooms are on deck 2, verandah rooms on decks above deck 5. Inside rooms deck 2, and 7-10.

We prefer deck 9 for convenience to the pool deck. Yes, deck 10 is even closer, but some of those cabins get noise from the activity on the pool deck.

I think it depends on your room category (balcony, inside, oceanview), who is in your party, and what ship amenities you might be most interested in. Personally decks 8-9 between the aft elevators and the mid elevators is my favorite area.

There is no wrong answer, but there may be a right answer for you! What do you like? What needs do you have?

We are pretty fit and active, so questions of "what is it close to" didn't matter to us, we knew we'd be close to some things and farther from others and be walking plenty either way.

But my BIL, who traveled with us in a connecting stateroom, is a very light sleeper, so being surrounded by other cabins and not common areas made sense to us, but if we had gotten loud neighbors, it might have backfired on us.

On our trip, a Veranda was only about 10% more than an inside, so we went for that. And since we were doing that, and knew we'd spend a bunch of time in our cabin, we wanted to go fairly high up, for the view.

Think about the people in your group, and your budget. Keep in mind that not only do inside/outside/veranda have different prices, sometimes forward/aft/middle or various decks have different prices, so you might have preferences, but then you have to decide, "do I want to pay extra for THAT?"

We like 2 decks below the pool. Can easily walk up the steps to pool/Cabanas, but don't have the pool noise.
