Disney Dream- September 25th 4-Night Bahamian Cruise!

We're sticking around WDW after the cruise and will probably focus on Food & Wine and the Magic Kingdom 40th Anniversary. Although NSS always tends to call our name, so we may be doing that as well. :)

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

same here, we're doing Epcot and the Food & Wine, we were there on our last trip during this event and it was really good. We especially loved the pears!!

Definitely Animal Kingdom, we were able to rent points from a DVC owner and have a Savannah view at the AK Lodge/Villas. This was probably the cheapest we've ever stayed and the highest accomodations. Should have looked into renting points years ago...doh!

Also probably some time at Magic Kingdom too and our first trip to Universal for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

What is NSS? :confused3

Sorry, my friends shortened Not So Scary to NSS because we're lazy and I forget sometimes. :) We tend to go to the party because it's always so much fun but I'm also concerned that the party will be packed because of the big weekend.

Also, I've done the Harry Potter island at Universal and it was a lot of fun! If you haven't been to Universal before, it will all be new to you and the park as a whole is a good time. If you've been before, they added the castle (ride and gift shop) and the town of Hogsmeade which are shops and one show.

Prepare for crowds and just keep water on hand as it will still be hot and there's not a lot of shade. The Butterbeer both frozen and regular are excellent, so definitely worth a try!! The pumpkin juice was interesting but we ended up preferring the sweeter Butterbeer.

Also, if you like to drink beer, in the tavern in Hogsmeade they sell a special brew that is made locally for that venue. From what I remember it's a darker beer but nothing too strong. Kind of fun to try something only sold there.

Have fun and maybe we'll see you in the parks as well!!

We've been debating about MNSSHP. The past 2 years we had a blast, but this year I'm really worried about crowds. I wish they had a Tuesday party again, but while I'm there the parties are scheduled on Friday & Sunday. With the F&W Marathon, 40th Anniversary celebrations and the start of F&W I have a feeling the parks and parties will be more crowded than I'm used to.

Harry Potters world is fabulous!! If anyone is going to Universal I highly recommend Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey. By far my favorite ride at Universal.

question, for those of you that have 13 yr olds, are you planning on keeping them in the 11-13 group or allowing them to go to the 14-17 group???

My understanding is that 13 yo's have the option to go into either group but I believe there is no check in/out for the older group....thoughts, concerns?

tks!

I could be wrong, but I don't think there's a check-in/ check-out for either of the teen clubs. My son would love to check out both clubs if that's really an option. I hadn't heard about that before, but the idea makes him happy :goodvibes

We are heading to the parks as well and meeting up with about 50 of our friends.. Not kidding, last count was around 50.

We have some group ADR's, I and many are running the 5k or the half, some both that Saturday, we are doing a big Drink & Eat Around the World on Friday and 40 of us are attending the Wishes Dessert Party on Oct 1. It's going to be crazy but so much fun.!!

We are heading to AKL after the cruise too! It our first deluxe stay ever, so it is a definite treat. My DD will feel spoiled since we only ever stayed at values with her. We are doing MNSSHP on 9/30. It is our favorite party & we cannot wait! We leave PA in one month & I am ready to start packing...lol.

My daughters are in the same teen/tween club this cruise and are rather excited. didnt know the 13 yr old could check out the vibe...

they have each had check out priviledges for years.. makes it easier on us, and since they will be together, even better!!

one month to go!! :cool1: jr has a football game at 12, after that we are driving to the Cape! (but with dinner at Olive Garden.. our tradition.)

We are 150 miles from Irene. Getting some wind and rain today. Working on FE gifts. I read on the cruise board that CC sustained quite a bit of damage and will be closed for a few sailings. I hope it is open for our cruise.

We will be staying at AKL before the cruise. It is a surprise for the kids. Cannot even tell the in-laws because my FIL cannot keep a secret.

29 days until the cruise!! pirate:

Was just reading some of the threads on the CC damage. Sure hope everything gets cleared up in time for our visit.

On a side note, has anyone recv'd any cruise documents or material from DCL? Haven't seen anything and just wondering...

I saw your post about being near Irene and my first thought is that you were on the cruise with us! My friends and I just got off the Dream and it was a rocky start followed by a lot of rain. Fingers and toes crossed that CC is drudged out and we can dock there for our cruise!! My Mom is already nervous about cruising, so here's also hoping for smooth sailing and calm seas!

I received mine I think early last week. It was a booklet with my luggage tags. Most of the info I had already read or confirmed on their website when checking-in, so you may not be missing too much info-wise. I do know they have luggage tags for you at the port if you don't get them (or say, leave them at home like my friend did!). :)

Got ours last week.

hhmmmm, my wife called and they told her they would be sent two weeks out...too close for comfort if you ask me.

We are staying at the Hyatt Airport the night before so just wanted to make sure we had our tags and all.

My understanding is that the hyatt will tell us what we need to do and will get our bags on the shuttle but I assumed that meant we had our tags.

Has anyone else done the stayover at the Hyatt? What time do the first shuttles leave for the port?

We too are staying at the Hyatt the night before! This is our first time cruising or staying at the Hyatt so I'm going off of what I've read/been told. I think the Hyatt will tell you upon check in how the bag thing works. I think we are going to take our down with us. My wife is parinoid about losing luggage and she was almost justified on our May Disney trip!

As for the shuttle (I assume you mean the Disney one) I've heard that the first one leave between 9:30 and 10.

Hi Tony and welcome to DISboards! I'm super excited as well and also celebrating my Mom's birthday on the cruise! Great minds think alike. ;)

Hi everyone :wave2:
I had no idea that their was a page for your cruise date! This just adds to the excitement!! :yay::yay:
This will be our 5th Disney Cruise :rotfl: and we are very excited! We will be celebrating our Disneymoon! First time on the dream for us, woohoo!
Another thing that I came cross that is new to us and I found super cute were the fish extenders. I am curious as to how it works as far as the exchanges, can someone elaborate? Do we get assigned someone, a cabin, and where can we sign up? 24 days and counting :dance3:, but first Saratoga Springs :woohoo:
We are so ready for our vacation. Hope everyone has fun!!
:hippie:

Hi all - We finally got power back after Irene decided to take it away.

While not on the coast we were hit hard by winds and heavy rain but luckily our house was sparred. I leave today for a quick trip to WDW with my girlfriends :) When I get back on Tuesday, packing for the Cruise and F/W trip will really kick into gear. :goodvibes
