Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

We live in Melbourne, so our day tomorrow is -- sleep in until 8 or 9... throw some stuff in a suitcase... jump in the car at 10, be to the port at 10:45. We are going super-casual this trip. We will be checking in, wearing our swimsuits.. hopefully we can ride the AquaDuck a few times before the crowds get too big

That's our plan too. Well, at the very least I'll be wearing by swimstuff on board, DW doesn't like to ride in swim attire, so it'll probably be in the carryon, and we plan on riding the AquaDuck a couple times while people are at the buffet.

I too think I'll be going a bit more casual than usual this time around. Shirt and short that are nice enough for a dinner out, but not slacks and shirt/tie. We're not doing Palo/Remy this time around, so I don't feel the need to pack a lot of "fancy" clothes for a shorter trip. There'll be plenty of time to dress up on future cruises.

Hi all!!! We are back from the cruise and had a fabulous time! Rode the aquaduck everyday (2 times on Thursday, 1 time on Friday, 3 times on Saturday) and never made it to Nassua or Castaway Cay! LOL - that's ok, we had a blast! She was a beautiful ship and I can't wait to meet her sister next June!

Donna and I made it home as well. We had a GREAT time on our back2back cruise. We rode the AquaDuck so many times we lost count!!!! Like TifffanyD said the Dream is a fabulous ship. We had such a great time. I want to thank everyone for the wonderful FE gifts we received. Thank you, thank you, thank you one and all.
We only had 1 thing that happened to us that upset us somewhat. Someone on board the Dream stole our 4 pocket fish extender off our door. This happened on the last day. I had taken down our door magnets earlier and forgot to take down the fish extender. When I opened the door to get it - it was gone. This was personalized with our name on it so no one else can use it. It was not an expensive item, but it was the idea that someone stole it that got to us.
Hope everyone had as much fun as we did and I hope everyone returns to their homes safely.

hi everyone, thanks for the FE gifts -- it was the best FE exchange we've ever done. We are very impressed with the craft-iness of some of the handmade stuff... ya'll outdid yourselves!

We had a great cruise too, spent most of our time on the boat enjoying our verandah. We learned that the best time to ride the Aquaduck was after dinner, like from 8-10. You can ride and ride and ride, and barely ever wait. What a fun ship. The Dream is beautiful, especially the lounges in The District... we were so impressed.

Oh well, if you are going to gain any weight, gaining it on a Disney cruise is the place to gain it!!! Am I right folks!!!

As ya'll can see by my signature, we booked another Disney cruise on board the Dream for a December Christmas cruise a 7 day Eastern on the Fantasy in December 2012!!! It is going to be on the Dec. 15th thru the 22nd. That way we will still be home on Christmas Day. We have wanted to see the ship all decorated for Christmas for several years now.This is going to be great!!! Hope ya'll will join us on this cruise - that would be so GREAT!!!

haha - we are going to be getting off the day you are getting on!! We booked Dec 8 for the Pod Cast cruise!! They've gotten cool speakers and stuff in the past, so I am excited about that And after that cruise you will be Gold - woohoo!!! We actually did this dream 3-nighter partially to get our 5th cruise in so our next 7 we would be gold (helloooooooooo extra onboard credit, early Palo booking, and cocktail party!!)

ETA: I am up almost 4 pounds too! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH

(UGH) David I am so sorry to hear about your FE. And I have to say the Aquaduck was awesome, my dd and I got to be the last ride of the whole cruise, bitter sweet.

Don't know if any of you saw Aimee (stl_figment) in her wedding dress or the wedding on Castaway Cay. It was AWESOME albeit a little warm. My poor auntie passed out ughhh (the was the bad part) but she was feeling much better by dinner.

Thanks for all the FE gifts. Way fun for us. Got some really cool stuff. Hope you all liked your names - worked hard on that (plus helped Aimee a little bit with her fuser bead stuff - those beads are a little tricky )

Aimee will post pics I am sure when they get back. They are having their Disneymoon right now.

Absoutely loved the ship and our first cruise. So much so that I have convinced my dh to take our kids in 2013 (it wasn't hard) since we are taking them and his parents on "gasp" the carnival sensation next June for Father's Day.

That's awful! We had some FE gifts go missing and our DVC member magnet was stolen off the door as well. I think someone also tried to take our FE once too. I came back and the ribbon on the FE was twisted around and around and around. I secured it with a zip tie and had to cut the ribbon to get the thing off when I was packing up. Glad I did!

I'm sorry I should have. Disers are like family. I would have never known it was you except for the lime green ears tag on your bag. Great idea. I should have done something similar. We had tons of fun. Getting on/off the ship was a breeze. We were on in less than 10 mins from the time we parked our car. The Dream is beautiful. I can't wait to go back. I think I saw you again at the DVC welcome home party. My hubby and I were on the front row on the other side from you.

I want to thank everyone. Overall the cruise was lovely. I appreciate all the FE gifts, I was amazed by how nice everything was (and Brent LOVES the cajun spice).

I posted a few wedding pictures in my signature, but will be working on my Trip Report this week (and next). After the at-home reception this Saturday, I'll have a lot more time.

That ia a good tip DizDragonfly with securing the FE with a plastic tie. I'm going to be sure to do just that from now on. Thank you for that tip. DW and I too had a Wonderful time on board the Dream. We sure didn't want it to end. But now we have next Christmas on the Fantasy to look forward to.
