Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

Hi from a newbie to DCL  Me and my husband to be will be celebrating our honeymoon and first ever cruise on the Dream. We are so excited, can't wait for September to get here already. So if you see us do say hello :)

Hey Stefy DW and I want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: you and your DH to the cruise:cool1::banana:. Glad ya'll could join us. We all are going to have much fun on board the new Dream.:thumbsup2 Everyone here is as excited as a kid in a candy store!!!:hyper::hyper::hyper:

:welcome:
Welcome Stefy!!! And congrats! We're first time cruisers, too, and celebrating our 18th anniversary.

Did I mention that our anniversary will be our 18th as well? We aren't really "celebrating" it on this trip, because it's in December, but I suppose we could. :rotfl2:

Hey, Did I mention that DW and I will be celebrating OUR 18th anniversary too!!! What a small world. (Well actually it will be 18 years plus about 27 more years.) Garsh, that makes us sound old doesn't it!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Just two big kids at heart!!

We should do a group meet on the ship. I'm not sure when or where though. :confused3

A Group meet if not already planned would be Awesome! Typically, in my past cruises, the best time that seemed to work for most was 3pm on embarkation day. This time is after everyone is on board, has been able to have lunch, explore a bit, get into their staterooms, and then just before the madatory muster drill. The atrium is a great place to meet and do a Group photo. Someone could wear something or hold something that would identify them as part of the group and all others will notice and gather around too. On our last cruise, many wore tshirts with a graphic that one of our group made for that particular cruise. For one meet two cruises ago, I brough along a paint stick painted lime green and had a lime green mickey head attached to the top of it. :thumbsup2

Oh wow, 18yrs congrats :) Will defo be a cruise to remember and a great way to celebrate :goodvibes

My DH likes to say that our marriage will now be old enough to buy cigarettes and die for its country. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi. We are getting married on the cruise!

Typically, in my past cruises, the best time that seemed to work for most was 3pm on embarkation day.

If you meet at 3 pm, we won't be there. :sad2:

We have the public notary (legal) ceremony at 3 pm on embarkation day. :bride: Its maybe a little important.

How ya'll doing on this fine Sunday morning. I hope one and all are doin' good!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:banana:

Just wanted to let you know the Dream is in Port Canaveral this morning.:cool1::cool1::cool1: When she sailed out last Tuesday DW and I noticed it was around 5:30pm or so before she pulled away from the terminal. We didn't know if the port time changes had aything to do with this or not.:confused3 Usually it was always around 5:00 when she would set sail. It will be interesting to find out if the port time changes have had any impact on the terminal wait times, boarding times and sail out times. I hope the cruisers ahead of us post and let us know. I'll be awatching!:surfweb:

Wow another anniversary celebration, congrats :)

I love that

Hi. We are getting married on the cruise!

Congrats, what a way to get married so exciting and romantic :)

A cruise meet sounds really good, maybe for a spot of lunch in cabanas or Enchanted Garden? I have heard that the latter can be quieter than Cabanas :)

Our 18th is actually on debarkation day, September 18th. What the heck we were thinking getting married during the height of hurricane season I'll never know. We spent our 11th anniversary digging my parent's house out from under the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan, our 12th anniversary living with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and our 15th gutting the front part of our house from Hurricane Ike's lovely gift.

I guess you know where the 1993 in my userid comes from, huh?

Thank you! We're super excited. Let's just cross our fingers for no horrible-canes....although I'll admit, I think they'd add a bit of excitement to the adventure....LOL!

Nah. That makes y'all sound like our newest heros! That's awesome! My grandparents were married well over 50 years and they're my ultimate heros. Would you believe they only knew each other like 9 days when they eloped??? Crazy! I guess sometimes you just know. :lovestruc

That's hilarious!!! I gotta tell my old man about that! LOL! One more year and I will have been married for literally half my life.

Oh! Yes, I guess that is sorta important. Where will your notary ceremony be??? I promise not to crash the gig but I can't speak for any of the other scallywags around these parts. Heehee!

A cruise meet sounds really good, maybe for a spot of lunch in cabanas or Enchanted Garden? I have heard that the latter can be quieter than Cabanas :)

A lunchtime mini-meet could be a good idea especially for those who will be at stl_figment's notary ceremony. We could do this in addition to the 3:00 meet that JustTJ mentioned. Speaking of, JustTJ, do you still have your Mickey-on-a-stick? If so, you could bring it!

So let's set these meet-up times & places! Someone call it so it's official!

I'm all for meeting for a spot of lunch at Enchanted Garden (unless you prefer Cabanas).

Not sure about times though as we aren't really familiar with the goings on for embarkation day :)

Since people get to lunch after boarding the ship at various times, I don't think most would be able to make a meeting at lunch time unless we all boarded at roughly the same time. Does any know of another good time to gather together? I don't know of any meet where EVERYONE has been able to attend, but the idea is to nail a time when the most could :)

Meeting at Enchanted Garden would be difficult as they seat you there. Cabanas would be a little easier because you aren't being served, so there is more choice in seating.

I guess since I'm totally new to all this and clueless how everything will work with the timing I'll leave the time/place to meet to those who have a better idea. I'm up for whatever. No prob! :thumbsup2

stmize, this is our first cruise, too! Isn't it exciting?! :thumbsup2

yes it is exciting I can't wait. I've been pricing out other cruises for all 4 of us for June 2012 but can't make the numbers work for us so we are taking a carnival cruise and have invited dh's parent to go too.

since I am a newbie to cruising and to dcl can someone tell me what is the max luggage size if you want to carry it off at the end of the cruise. I think I found that the size of carryons can only be 15 x 22. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. We are in cabin 6058 and have a terminal arrival time of 11:30-12:00. When I did out online ck in on 7-2-11 I could have had an earlier arrival time but didn't want it. We are staying on our dvc points at VWL the night before with dinner at WCC and probably going to MK to see wishes. We plan on breakfast at Roaring Forks and then relaxing in out studio prior to checking out to go to the port.

Sorry I am just now posting but I have had a lot of reading to catch up on here. Welcome to everybody. Happy Wedding Day. Happy Birthday and Happy anniversary. WE only have 39 days til we are onboard. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hi there! There is no maximum size to carry luggage OFF the ship. Only ONTO the ship since it has to go through security just like at an airport. It's entirely up to you as to how much you want to carry around that last morning. But just beware, it is a MADHOUSE trying to get an elevator. There are about 4,000 people using about 9 to 12 elevators (if the elevators are like those on the Magic & Wonder - I believe there are three elevators at forward, midship, and aft each on the other two ships.)

Yes it would be good to have another meet time. I want to meet everyone but kinda need to be at dd's notary wedding. :goodvibes

And Welcome to all the new people on the boards. :flower3:

My wife posted that on page 2. Now it's only page 54. The other thread is on page 142 Of their 11th thread!!! I'm on page 2 of this one and working on getting through 10 months of posting!! or only 52 pages.:sad2: I like the sound 10 months of posting better!:thumbsup2

By the way. If you look at my post total, that's all on the other thread. I feel like I just cheated on them over there cause these are my first post away from there!
