Welcome aboard. I have a 6 yr old girl, Madigan, sailing as well. (Plus 2 boys 4 & 3)
Not my 1st cruise but we are a mixed bag... this will be my 5th, Madigan's 4th, Graiden's 2nd and a 1st for my husband Michael, and our youngest son, Finnian.
We are doing FE!!!

Hello! Just booked our 10/09/11 cruise aboard the Disney Dream!! This will be our 6th Disney cruise. I will be traveling with my 16 year old son, 13 year old daughter, and 6 year old daughter. My mother and her husband are going as well. A "first" for us will be the fact that we booked veranda staterooms!! Previously we've only booked inside staterooms : ) Nice to "meet" all of you! I haven't had the chance to read through this entire thread, but I'm hoping to find some people who are interested in participating in the fish extenders. We haven't done that before and it sounds really neat!!

Hi Amy! We are definitely doing the fish extenders. I think there's a list of people participating on page 3 of this thread. We'll need to keep it updated as time goes on...just let us know what stateroom you are staying in, etc!

This will be our 5th Disney cruise. It'll be me, my husband, and our two boys (14 and 10), and my nephew (15). Can't wait to meet you!

I have a question. What are fish extenders? They were mentioned on the podcast, but I am not quite sure what they look like or what you use them for.

This is going to be a blast! I've read alot of these message boards for my previous trips, but never actually joined one and got to know people who would be cruising at the same time!

Andrea, here is a link to a couple fish extenders. I had no idea what they were until recently. From what I've been told, you join a message board (like this one) with a group of people traveling on the same cruise and people (if interested) can sign up to exchange little gifts for other families while on board.....little things like candy, stickers, etc....or whatever you wish! It's kinda like a "secret santa". You hang your fish extender outside your cabin on the little fish hook that's hanging there for papers and correspondence from guest services. You can buy FE's or make your own! I'm crafty, but haven't learned to sew yet (got a sewing machine for Christmas though! lol). I think this is the one I'm going to buy, but there are others if you search Etsy or Ebay!

This will be our second cruise so by no means am I an expert on FE, but here is what we did on our first cruise. Since we only had 11 family that participated we gave FE treats to all the cabines. Some families gave one gift for the whole cabine, for the kids only. we got lots of stuff from cookie cutters, glow stick, candies, pirates stuff, coloring books, magnets, nice home made things too. We got sooo much stuff, the kids loved checking it every time we arrived at the room.

Here is a picture of our FE that was made for us from a lovely lady StitchesNBows on ETSY (google ETSY and enter her name or search for fish extender), she customs makes them for you colors, theme, names, everything.

We'd love to be added to the FE list! It will be myself, DS16, DD13, and DD6 in stateroom 8678!

I just ordered my FE from Stitches and Bows this morning. I kept it very simple so I could use it again. I can't wait to see it!!

I am going to use my same FE as last time...I purposely ordered it without dates so I could use it over again. Ours is so cute--we ordered it from gradysmommy on eBay.

Since we are from TN, I am trying to think of something Tennessee related for our FE; either that, or I might get something with our cruise date on it. Only 260+ days!
