The bad part about bringing gift cards for spending money??? Having to scratch off each and every pin number and then typing them into the sytem to put all the money on just 3 giftcards. Lol.

Yup, that was me working on my couch on Friday! LOL! Every week, we buy anywhere from 200.00 - 1000.00 worth of gift cards. We always have vacations planned, so we never have 'too much!' LOL. Yes, they can be used on board but not by the kids. You can apply them to your onboard account to pay at the end of the cruise. My kids use theirs in the parks and then we discuss how much they have left for onboard the ship

Not us, we just bring regular sunblock. 3 out of the 5 members of my family are VERY, VERY light skinned and what we bring has always been enough.

Nope, nor anyone else that we have traveled with or know that have been on cruises other than ours.

It is a pain!!
Although I enter them in the Disney vacation account each time I buy along the way.... You can use the account number to pay on your trip and i am pretty sure for charges.... Although the you might have to confirm that part for cruise. Still, it's so much nicer than the old way of having to call in and exhaust a CM on the phone by reading everyone and applying!
Plus you get a free $20 gift card for every $1000 you save/spend. I'm all about the freebies!

We are now 5 days until the last cut-off date and 10/7 was the first cut-off date. The people we have not heard from have been officially removed from the list and will only be added on if they confirm AND if we have space. I will no longer be messaging those 3 people on a weekly basis. (I have already messaged them to let them know they have been removed).

We are 5 days out from the cut-off date. Beginning that week (September 12th), I am asking that EVERYONE ON THE LIST re-confirm that they are in fact still interested in the FE! We do have some thread regulars which is awesome but I know we also have people that only check in once in awhile and some that have yet to check back. ANY TIME during that week, a simple "YES I AM STILL INTERESTED "will work! You will need to check in that week anyway to get the final list!

There are no rules. Seriously. I don't like to micromanage these lists and just want everyone to have fun. There is no minimum or maximum to spend, there is no requirement that it be handmade or store bought. These are gifts you only have to deliver once and can either be one for each person in the cabin or a cabin gift. You can deliver on any day you wish to deliver, but I would not wait for the day we get off the ship, because we all get off super early and some may abandon their rooms before you even begin delivery.

My goodness this is absolutely flying by!!! This weekend we are away on a camping/waterpark getaway and we started thinking about what we had going on and next weekend we are volunteering in downtown Chicago for an event starting Wednesday-Sunday and then the following weekend our children work Friday-Sunday in a WWII village as time-period interpreters, so we will be gone all then and then we leave that following Wednesday!! OMG!!!

Do we know what characters will be on the Ship doing Autographs? I'm just wondering. I know that Jack and Sally will be there because that's one of the MAIN points for the Halloween on the High Seas but just seeing if what friends say.

Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Chip, Dale and Pluto are the ones that do the party. Jack and Sally do their spooky stories thing and then there are the regular princess meet and greets that we got the tickets for online. I believe that is it...oh and Captain Hook

We have just entered the final check-in week!! On Friday, I will get the list finalized and message it to everyone! I cannot believe it's finally time! I started this thread just about 1 year ago and we have been chatting away ever since and now we are at:
24 Days until we are onboard
22 Days until you should notify your credit card companies that you will be on a cruise and the ports of call
20 Days until you can no longer book experiences and activities online
11 Staterooms are participating in our FE exchange program
4 Days until the cut-off here on the FE thread
3 More Mondays until we enter the week of our Sailing Date
