Disney Dream - June 9, 2013 - 4 night

Hard to believe today as Gold castaway members we got to start booking activities, etc for our cruise. It still seems so far off. All of the cabanas were booked with the exception of two on serenity bay. Most adult dining still had lots of availability. Getting closer to picking a FE craft!

You might want to go to the Atlantis site and check for height restrictions on the water slides. We looked at going to Atlantis last summer but one kid was too short so it was a no go until the little one gets taller :)

I can't believe my 11 year old won't have the wrist band and has a bit more freedom...scary!

My kids will be dressing up and I'll probably pack some simple accessories for hubby and I. My mom loves to sew and she made my daughter a bandanna skirt and a Minnie Mouse pirate shirt to match. She made my son the Mickey version of the shirt and matching pirate pants.

Sounds really cute. How lucky you are to have a mom like that! I love pirate night! I think that I'll do 2 FE gifts. Just gotta hand out pirate loot!! Are you going to dress up? I did last time and had a blast. The pictures with the characters are wonderful on pirate night. I just love Pirate Mickey and Minnie. Don't even get me started on Capt. Jack Sparrow!pirate:

I hadn't thought a lot about pirate night. I guess it's time to figure that out. I don't want to get to the cruise and wish I had done something. I'm not sure I can get the kiddo into anything pirate, but I'll figure something out. Her dad will love to threaten her with walking the plank.

Look at it this way. If the group stays small, we can spend more time on each thing. (I'm a natural optimist, most of the time). At least we have a group going now.

For those of you who have done a fish extender, do you normally zip tie your fish extender to the hook?

We did on outlast cruise and had nail clippers to cut it back off. I had read that as a suggestion last time.

We have a loop sewn into ours, but might bring the zip tie and clippers as well. What a great idea. Once, we had so much that our FE pockets were spilling over. I just ordered some cute magnets on Etsy and can't wait to decorate our door. I'll probably put them on the fridge until the cruise.

I bet we get more FE people. Last time, there were lots of people to join before the cut off. I want to order my supplies, but have to wait until the final count.

Looking forward to being able to make our Palo reservations and port excursions.

Last cruise I dropped off a photo mat, messenger bag, and autograph book at the front desk to have the characters sign. This time I'm dropping off 2 aprons w/ "You Betcha!" embroidered in the middle for the characters to sign for my daughter's teachers next year. Does anyone have a better idea of what to have embroidered in the middle? Maybe, "The BIG CHEESE!"...
Also thinking about dropping off a piggy bank with the words "Disney Dollars", or "Saving For Disney" on it and have the characters sign around it.

Anyone have any other ideas for autograph items?:smickey:

I just found this board today! My DD (not quite 8 at time of cruise), my mom and I will be spending 2 days at WDW, staying at Art of Animation before the cruise. This is our first time there (cruising and WDW) - any experience on Art of Animation???

My DD is incredibly shy and I am worried about her wanting to go to the kids club by herself. I am happy to see so many of you here with girls the same age!

I am probable for the fish extender, but don't want to commit too early and then not follow through, so I will give it a little more thought and let you know!

Never stayed at the Art of Animation. But I do have an 8 yr old little girl. We will be at the Coronado 3 days before and are going to Hollywood Studios on Fri. and Sat. If you are going to be in that park either day, we could meet up. My daughter is also nervous about the club on the ship and not making friends!

The fish extender is a really fun activity to do with children. Our daughter loved coming back to the room and seeing gifts that people had given us.

Welcome!!

Wee are cruise virgins and SUPER excited for our first voyage. We are very excited to participate in the Fish Extender group.

We are in stateroom 9506 with two adults (1 male/1 female), DS (14), & DD (6). My other daughter is staying in the next cabin over with some friends who will also participate, but I'll let them sign up personally.

ONLY 95 DAYS!!

Welcome aboard! We definitely have a few girls and several of us will be at the resort and parks ahead of time. My DS(7) would also be a good one to get your DD to join in. He is good at that! Hope you join our FE...it's lots of fun!

Welcome! I see your name is DVC...what is your home resort?

Our home resort is Saratoga Springs, though we only stay there as a last result. We LOVE OKW and AKV and BWV.

We are doing 6 days prior to our cruise at OKW with my in-laws. I talked my wife into the cruise add-on as a reward for spending the week with her sister. :)

OK - you guys have me talked into it! I'll do the FE!!! (I spent most of my afternoon yesterday thinking of different things we could do!)

Cabin: 2502, 2 adults (F/F), 1 DD (1 mo shy of 8 yrs)
