Got it added into the list. Welcome aboard. I know my kids I had a hard time tearing them away from the clubs. It will be interesting this time because DS is old enough for the tween club. Not sure which he will prefer to hang out in.

Hi! I am Liz and we just booked this cruise and we are so excited to join y'all! We want to do the fish extender group. we did it last cruise and our daughter LOVED it! If the organizer needs any help, please let me know! There will be 3 of us on the cruise, and I don't have our room number yet. So excited! Thank you!:boat:

Welcome to the cruise and group. I'm not the organizer, but I'm happy to have one more in the group. I noticed that you are also going for star wars weekend. My husband is the true Star Wars fan and my DD and I are hangers on. We will be in the parks for Star Wars Weekend before the cruise. Have you been to Star Wars weekends before and if so, can you give us any tips?

Love Star Wars weekends! We will be hitting that on Friday before the cruise. The lines can get pretty long for character photo ops. Highly recommend when they have the special shows with voice actors/ actors. Last year we got to see the voice of Waddo and an actor who was Darth Maul (and did all his own stunts) as well as Ashley from the cartoon series. The parade is also a lot of fun...you get all the characters in costume at once. Having two boys, we have been to Star Wars weekends I think at least the past 3 years. We wonder with Disney owning it, maybe there will be even more this year! Looking forward to it. Are others staying at Disney pre or post cruise?

We love Star Wars weekends. Here are some suggestions...
make dining reservations at Mama Meloses, Sci Fi diner, etc. for early lunch or late (1:30 or later), the air conditioning is a life saver! The parade is usually around 12 or 12:30. You don't want to miss the parade! Sign your daughter up for Jedi training and she will be in the parade! If you want tips on how to sign her up, let me know. Our daughter, 8, has done it twice. Once with Darth Vader and once with Darth Maul.
Don't pass up the opportunity to have your picture taken with Chewbacca. He kissed me in our last photo!
They give out fast passes for pictures with the characters. They go really fast!
Go fist thing in the morning to sign up for Jedi training and to get your photo fast passes. My husband and daughter go through the non baggage check at the entrance, and I go through the baggage check. They get to Jedi training sign up 20 -30 minutes before I catch up!
Old Navy sells pink Star Wars t shirts for girls. Really cute!
When you get off of the Star Tours ride, don't pass up having you picture taken as on of the characters from the movies. We always get a group photo and they are hilarious!
If you celebrate Christmas, buy you husband stocking stuffers when he's not looking at the Tatooine Traders (souvenir store)
If she does the Jedi training, buy her the badge with her name on it. They are easily passed by in the shop!
Here is a link to our daughter doing the Jedi training... :darth::yoda:

We will arrive in Disney on Thursday night and do Star Wars weekend on Friday and Saturday before the cruise. We've been to Disney at least once a year for the past five years (some years twice, which is lucky since we live in Central Texas). Star Tours is one of our favorites.

My step daughter (who is 8 now) did Jedi training when she was six. I think she is interested this year, but is on the fence because she's done it before. Knowing that she would be in the parade may swing her over.

We've made early breakfast reservations in Hollywood (the character breakfast) before the park even opens. We don't care too much about those characters, but my husband thinks that will give him easier access to the merchandise tents. I've heard that the fast pass booths (for lack of a better term) are outside the park for the autographs. Is that accurate?

We've also made early lunch reservations at the sci fi diner so we can be out in time for the parade (hopefully).

If my husband really wants to pick up specialize pens and souvenirs, how important is it that he goes there first? Of course, my in laws will be with us (and my parents, but they aren't early risers) so that can help manage fast passes and such.

We will stay for another week of Disney after the cruise because we have a time share. The first three days will be on site, which we have never done, and the last seven will be in our condo with only my parents.

Sorry for the long post. My daughter knows about Star Wars weekend and she's incredibly excited. She wants to dress as Leia, but she strongly suggested I perfect the buns before the trip because the last time we tried it they were too "pointy."

Pointy buns, so funny!

We are staying at Disney after the cruise also. We'll be at the Polynesian for a couple of days.

FYI... Be Our Guest has reservations available for that friday night at 9:30

We've eaten there twice and it is really good!

I don't know much about the merchandise tents. Sorry!

Maybe we can get our daughters together in the park to meet before the cruise. I think your daughter is 8, like ours.:yoda:

The Be Our Guest reservation is new. I called about two weeks ago and they didn't have anything. Actually, I think I checked for after the cruise. We are planning to just eat there for lunch after the cruise. I've also scheduled tea for Arwen (my daughter) and I on the Monday after the cruise. We've never done that before.

We have dinner reservations at LeCellier and the character dinner with Chip and Dale in Epcot. We always stay off site so this is our first time to do the meal plan so we made reservations for things we've never done before. After the cruise we typically eat lunch in the park, but try to get dinner elsewhere.

I guess I'll have to cruise the other message boards to figure out the merchandise tent.

If we can make meeting up work before the cruise, that would be great. If not, we need to definately get the girls together on board. Of course, if your daughter likes the aqua duck or the kid's club, they are bound to run into one another.

I almost finished making my fish extender today. I just need to sew on the buttons and make the bow. It has some fumbles, but I'm pretty pleased with it. I can't wait for the cruise and the entire time.

Ok, RunnerMomO! Took me awhile but got it! We're in on the fish extenders.

I haven't decided yet about pirate night. I think I'll pack a few simple accessories perhaps. There are seven of us total in three cabins and I'm sort of in charge of getting what everyone needs so that may limit what's done. I'll do something for the kiddo if she wants it and maybe something for us.

What do you typically do?

This thread is so slow that I am starting to think that we are the only ones going!

I found a cute Mickey Pirate Dress on Etsy, I think that with a bandana and an eye patch they will be good to go. I found a few pirate hats at Halloween time for my husband, bil, and my Dad. Not sure what my sister plans on wearing, but I do know that her boys will be dressing up as pirates.

I am still kind of undecided on the FE thing, we have a lot going on at home with trying to sell our house and I packed up my entire scrapbook room :(
Is there a deadline set to sign up??

And is anyone visiting the parks beforehand? We will be at the Poly and cannot wait!

We are going to the parks before and after the cruise. We are going for Star Wars weekend before and staying at the Polynesian afterwards. We are selling our house also! i'm in the midst of making my scrapbook/ craft room look super organized. Love those craft rooms on Pinterest! I hope you do the FE. It's so much fun!

For a deadline to sign up let's tentatively say May 9? That would be one month out....we can see how the group grows by then and decide if we want to give it another week then. I know some crafty folks want to have enough time. I myself and still trying to decide the perfect thing to do....so many great ideas out there!

Welcome aboard neighbor!!! Can't wait for our fun vacation time to begin!

Of course there's always room for a dad. My husband is with me on this, but he never posts. I just drag him along for the ride. I'm happy that we are getting a small group together. It's nice to be able to bounce ideas off of one another.

I think the "deadline" for the fish extender sounds great. It's isn't firm, but gives us time to plan. I'm a high school yearbook adviser and I'm not doing anything much until after this yearbook is finished in early April. I'm just collecting potential "parts" at the moment.

Fun times ahead.
