Disney Dream June 27, 2013

Wow! First let me thank you for organizing the fe group.
But enough about you let me talk about myself. Lol

Today is my last day of work before we leave for Florida (I got a feeling this 7 hour shift is going to feel like a 12 hour shift). Today is also the kids last day. (they were promoted from 5th grade yesterday, the are excited about school being over...and starting a new middle school next year.). We had Mickey call the house yesterday. It was so awesome watching the littlest one hear mickey's voice on the phone. I wish I had taped it.

Packing is almost done!!!!
We hit the road in a few days quick trip to see family in Jacksonville, a week at the parks, then we finally get to cruise with the mouse. I look forward to seeing you all. Until then. TTFN

Hello there! This is my FINAL posting, and there should not be any more changes. We have an addition of 1 cabin, attention to the 8th Deck

We have 17 Cabins in the FE

I am getting Hawaiian Leis for the group so we can wear them for the Sail away party, as for distribution, I have gotten help to distribute. (thank you!)

I have grouped all floors together. When you board the ship, they have floor guides that you can pick up.

I will have some spare room lists, but will be limited. Please check by my room and I will have a dry erase to list if there are any last minute changes in rooms. As soon as you board, and you get your hands on a wave phone, text me your new room number- I will try and get this info out, pls check my door.
If there is no FE outside a cabin that is on our list, that means they have changed rooms.... I am on the 9th Deck Star-board.

*******************************************************************

In case your looking for a little plan, here is my floor run plan:
6th Deck: Room#6688 (back starboard side), then Room #6640.
Use stairs you just passed to run up to the 7th Deck.

7th Deck:Room #7594 (starboard) approx 14 rooms up to Room #7570.

8th Deck: (port side)Room #8102, Room #8128, Room #8130, (next room is an inside room, go towards the back of the ship) Room #8669, cut thru the middle and your on Starboard side and go to Room #8646.

9th Deck: Room #9552 (starboard side) and 2 doors up you have Room #9556
Run up the stairs to 10th Deck.

10th Deck: Start opposite side (port side) with Room #10030 go towards front of ship to Room #10002, walk thru to starboard side immediately Room #10500, Room #10560 dash down towards the back still on starboard side to Room #10644 and finish a few doors down at Room #10662.

Then crawl up the closest stairs and above is Cabana's if you can make it! :cool1:

Obviously this is my game play so I'm not completely blindly running thru the ship searching for rooms. You will obviously need to tweak it depending on your location. Its always easier to start on the floor above you and take the stairs down and then hit the elevator back up. You can deliver these gifts anytime of the day during the cruise. You don't need to do all floors the same day. My daughter will get a kick out of delivering FE, but I may have to do some while she is at kids club.

Once again, this is the last and final FE posting. Thank you all for your kind emails and messages! I enjoyed the organizing, and hope you all enjoy being a part of this FE group. Perhaps you can take the lead in your next Disney Cruise! Looking forward to meeting everyone :wave2:

Final FE, just spellings of names and minor changes. Thanks again!!

Haha, I'll bet you could! Thanks again for organizing this! We are planning on carrying on our own liquor for economics sake!! We are going with our extended family and we are all eating together. Pretty sure we are in the early seating, hope we don't feel rushed, but we have little guys with us that will need to go to bed at a decent hour (yeah, right!) How strict is the no shorts rule for kiddos? This is going to be a battle with my 5 year old, I can already tell.

Hi, lucky there is food everywhere, but if you have the 2nd seating its not too bad.

Let me remind you, this is a cruise!! The bed time rules don't exist on a boat, however, it is mandatory to take naps! lol

As for kids clothing, its summer, let the kids wear shorts! Bring a sweater as it may get cold in restaurant as well as theater and movie area.I think they are wanting the adults to dress up a bit and discourage us from shorts. Kids on last cruise were in shorts & polos....

getting so excited!!

Thank you for the advice! We are bringing khaki pants for the boy, but it is nice to know we can fall back to shorts if need be. :) Naps? What are naps??:hyper:

Just finished up my FE gifts tonight! Nothing spectacular like I have seen on these boards, but some fun stuff I think. So ready for a vacation...4 more days of work to go....

I'm a little late to the game here. Typically I am on boards months before our Disney park vacations, but work has been so crazy and this is all new to us.

First time Disney cruisers. I haven't been on a cruise in 20 years. It will be myself, husband, 10 year old son, my mom and my dad. We are all on Deck 9. My parents have an inside stateroom because my mom is nervous about getting seasick and we have one of the large porthole rooms (9162).

I think we may be late for the FE, which I had never even heard of until I started reading this thread. My son will be super sad to miss that fun. Oh well, maybe next time!

Having an only child, we are really looking forward to this cruise because he's a complete social butterfly and the thing he's most looking forward to is meeting new friends! The only thing I'm worried about is he's at the cusp of Oceaneer's Club/Lab and Edge. So, I'm just really hoping there are plenty of 9-10 year olds on this cruise. He gets along with all ages but most of his friends are 9-12.

I'm getting nervous because I haven't planned for this like I would have liked to, but it will still be awesome!!

Thank you to all the FE coordinators and helpers. We'll see you all very soon! If you watch the port canaveral web cam. We're sailing out today. :cool1::wave2::banana:

Getting excited.... watching the Port Canaveral Web Cam, knowing when the boat gets back, we'll be getting on it :cool1:!!

Question for all you 'repeat' cruisers, do you get off the boat in Nassau? If so, what do you do? Also, our "port arrival time" is 11:30, from what I understand, we should plan on getting at the port at 11:15 or so, and hope to be on the boat by noon... is that wishful thinking or an actual possibility?

As far as the dress codes for dinner, what to people REALLY wear? I've seen everything from "people get dressed up/resort casual" to "everyone is in shorts and tanks."

Anything else we should know/pack?

Thanks!!

I haven't been able to get the web cam to load on my computer this afternoon for some reason!!

We have taken an excursion to Blue Lagoon for the dolphin swim in the past, but this time we are planning to take the tour to the Forts. It wasn't too costly and my kids are very in to history. I thought this would be something for us to do for a couple of hours, then maybe shop a bit, then get back on the ship to enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

We dress "business casual" for dinner - nice pants, capris, sun dress and nice pants and a collared polo shirt for my husband and 17 year old son. There is also a pirate night - some people dress in full pirate costumes, others don't do anything at all. You will each get a pirate bandana in your room to wear for pirate night if you would like. The servers will be dressed in pirate costumes, it is a lot of fun! My daughter and husband are planning to wear pirate shirts and the bandana, my 17 year old son is not willing to wear any of it, lol! And I will probably just wear the bandana with my regular dinner clothes. Some small children have been in nice dress shorts (my kids are older 14,17).

We are flying down to Florida on Tuesday night from NJ and visiting a college on Wednesday for my son before the cruise on Thursday. So excited, can't wait!

We just booked our second cruise with some friends within the last week. We have FE's from our previous cruise and are ready to participate if we can still get in. Here is our info:

Our Friends:
Mom: Melissa ; Dad : Charles; 3 girls, Camryn 8, Georgia 5; Charlie 3. Rooms 7046 & 7048

My Family: Me, Mom: Amy; Dad: Ryan; 2 Girls: Bella 8, Ava 5... And a new baby that our girls are going to find out about on the cruise! :). Room 8530

We are all central florida residents hence the late booking. Let us know if we can participate so we can shop for goodies tomorrow.

Thanks so much!

Also, anyone have info on the current Remy menu?

Safe travels to everyone headed to our great state and Port Canaveral!!! :wave2:

Hi fellow Cruisers :)

Since there's only one day left to book port excursions, just wondering if anyone who had previously been on this cruise had any good tips?
When we get to Nassau, is the only way to see anything on the island or the aquariums at Atlantis to book the excursion? Just wondering if there was a way to just walk around a bit?

Also for Castaway Cay, should we book the inner tubes now or wait until the day of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See you in 3 days :cheer2::cool1:

You can walk around Nassau on your own. There will be a map and presentation (if you want to go to it) on the ship that details the shopping in the area.

To get to Atlantis through Disney you would need to book one of the excursions. I think some people book excursions through outside companies but we have not done that.

We booked the floats, bikes, and snorkel package ahead of time for Castaway Cay. When you are on the ship you can still book excursions....I can't remember where the desk is to do this....check the ship map or ask a CM once you board where its located if you want to book or change excursions.

We leave for Florida on Tuesday! See you soon!!
