Disney Dream June 27, 2013

i dont get off in nassau
The time depends on weather and you cant wear shorts cruise causal is like jeans and a fancy top but pirate night whatever you want but if you didnt bring any pirate gear to to the stores they have stuff and also bring a jacket in case you get cold
i've been on 28 cruises
Always bring a extra pair of clothes in case of a emergency and wear sneakers to the boat drill and always don't forget your room.

I haven't been able to get the web cam to load on my computer this afternoon for some reason!!

We have taken an excursion to Blue Lagoon for the dolphin swim in the past, but this time we are planning to take the tour to the Forts. It wasn't too costly and my kids are very in to history. I thought this would be something for us to do for a couple of hours, then maybe shop a bit, then get back on the ship to enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

We dress "business casual" for dinner - nice pants, capris, sun dress and nice pants and a collared polo shirt for my husband and 17 year old son. There is also a pirate night - some people dress in full pirate costumes, others don't do anything at all. You will each get a pirate bandana in your room to wear for pirate night if you would like. The servers will be dressed in pirate costumes, it is a lot of fun! My daughter and husband are planning to wear pirate shirts and the bandana, my 17 year old son is not willing to wear any of it, lol! And I will probably just wear the bandana with my regular dinner clothes. Some small children have been in nice dress shorts (my kids are older 14,17).

We are flying down to Florida on Tuesday night from NJ and visiting a college on Wednesday for my son before the cruise on Thursday. So excited, can't wait!

Thanks for the input!! We fly down from MD Wed. am!! What college are you visiting? Have a safe trip down (and good luck at the college visit)!!

We just booked our second cruise with some friends within the last week. We have FE's from our previous cruise and are ready to participate if we can still get in. Here is our info:

Our Friends:
Mom: Melissa ; Dad : Charles; 3 girls, Camryn 8, Georgia 5; Charlie 3. Rooms 7046 & 7048

My Family: Me, Mom: Amy; Dad: Ryan; 2 Girls: Bella 8, Ava 5... And a new baby that our girls are going to find out about on the cruise! :). Room 8530

We are all central florida residents hence the late booking. Let us know if we can participate so we can shop for goodies tomorrow.

Thanks so much!
Also, anyone have info on the current Remy menu?

Safe travels to everyone headed to our great state and Port Canaveral!!! :wave2:

Congratulations on the New Baby! What a fun way to find out about it, too! Unfortunately, the FE group is already closed so everyone could get their gifts together. :guilty:

We will be on the 8th floor, too, and our daughter is 9, so she will probably be hanging out with your oldest little ones in the clubs if they go! It still should be a great time! So looking forward to this weekend! :yay:

Getting excited.... watching the Port Canaveral Web Cam, knowing when the boat gets back, we'll be getting on it :cool1:!!

Question for all you 'repeat' cruisers, do you get off the boat in Nassau? If so, what do you do? Also, our "port arrival time" is 11:30, from what I understand, we should plan on getting at the port at 11:15 or so, and hope to be on the boat by noon... is that wishful thinking or an actual possibility?

As far as the dress codes for dinner, what to people REALLY wear? I've seen everything from "people get dressed up/resort casual" to "everyone is in shorts and tanks."

Anything else we should know/pack?

Thanks!!

We just were on a cruise in January and were in Nassau, so we do not plan to disembark that day. (Spa in the Morning for me! :woohoo:) Hopefully most everyone else will, though, because we really would like to take advantage of a less full ship that day for the Aqua Duck, etc.

I found these two links incredibly helpful in planning/what to pack/etc.:

Hope this helps!

So, my DS (10 yr old) is really anxious about meeting friends on the boat. He's an only child but doesn't know a stranger. I see there are a lot of 11 year olds on this thread alone. That stinks because he is too young for Edge. But, for any of the kids - look out for blonde Jackson in room 9162.

He is really looking forward to meeting new friends!!:donald:

Company leaving tomorrow and then I'll have time to wrap up some loose ends and start packing.
Got all the FE gifts done today. It's my first time doing this and I tried to come up with fun things that fit our budget...so I hope no one's too disappointed.
See you all soon :):woohoo:

For those of you that have sailed on a Disney cruise before, can you tell me if we're able to use personal laptops and the ship's wi-fi for free or do we have to pay?

We are visiting Florida Institute of Technology. Its right in between Orlando airport and Pt. Canaveral so it worked out well. Have a safe flight!

You have to pay for the Wi Fi but I think in Nassau when you get off the ship in the main building at the Port (not sure what it is called) there is Wi Fi. I noticed a lot of people sitting in there with their lap tops.

FE gifts can be anything! Just fun to get little gifts and treats :) Ours wound up being rather heavy and bulky so not sure how we will get them all in our luggage lol!

Flying down tonight. See you soon!

Not free, it's 50 min for $27.50, 100 min for $40.00 ect..

Free wifi in the port building in Nassau. There's also a Starbucks in Nassau that most of the crew go to.

Hi there, just a little post to wish everyone safe travels, and to note there are no changes in the FE.
Looking forward to getting onto the Dream and putting my feet up. Its been a hectic few days flying around and now I need to go pack the bags....
