Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

FINALLY!!! Magnets and tshirts are done. All of the fish extender gifts and the fish extender are done. (And I only ended up with 3 extra "paint" shirts.) I got the passports out of the safe deposit box. Now to get laundry finished and get packed. :laundy: Then, I need to print out the signature page and call the credit cards. So much to do and so little time. We leave 6am Wednesday morning.
I haven't had time to read back through the last couple pages, but hopefully tonight. I will try my best to log back in before Tuesday night, but if not, can't wait to see everyone.

:yay:  :cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo: pirate:

Good job Teresa!:thumbsup2

My DH (Jessie) is also a computer geek. He is the IT Team Leader for the University of TN Bookstore and also plays W.O.W. He is always talking to me about computer stuff, but it just goes right over my head. Glad to know he'll have something in common with a couple of other guys. DH is a talker though and will talk your ears off about anything!

Leilani

:thumbsup2
I wish mine would chat more though.
Perhaps he will on the cruise:goodvibes

I think the only game my son plays anymore is Anarchy Online,
other times he's reading up on tech stuff or history or world stuff
(like Japan.... he's dying to go there next year for a study abroad program)
or he's hanging out on computer forums:rolleyes:

I'm loving everyone's pics too:goodvibes
and it's fun reading everyone's response to my questions.

Seems like alot of us like the roller coaster type rides and Epcot and MK the best for parks:thumbsup2

Anyone have a preference between Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?
We're going to one of them on Saturday, but can't decide on one:confused3

Personally I prefer Typhoon Lagoon because of the wave pool and the lazy river. I think DW and DS12 prefer Blizzard Beach though. Maybe DW will chime in later to verify her preference. :)

End of a LONG day. I am jealous of everyone who has left already or is packed. Today starting with going in to work at 6am for weekend coverage after work already called at 3am. In case I have not mention before I am a production manager for a paper mill. We have even made paper for Disney. Some of the pin codes or special deals mailings you might have received in the have been printed on our paper.

After work saw DW and DD Tae Kwan Do promotion test which is looks like they past. Then back home to get backyard ready for the girl scout camp out. The yard was ready about the time the girls started to show up. Just after the last smore had been eaten and the tents were ready a thunderstorm we were hoping would not hit us looks like it will. So now we pack everything up and head to the basement. Did I tell you there were 9 8 year old girls here:scared1:.

Now that everyone is in bed I can finally check Disboards and see if a navigator has been posted and whoopee:banana: one has. A good end to a LONG day.

Since this will be our first cruise I do not have any DCL pictures but the one below was taken on our WDW trip last summer at EPCOT. I'm sure you can guess which country we were in.

Tomorrow its time to start packing.:cool1:

PS
Favorite Park is MK
Favorite ride is toss between BTMRR and EE before the yeti was broken.

I just notice that the DVC " member reception" is interfering with our Dis meet. The DVC celebration starts at 2:30and goes for an hr.

I was looking forward to the DVC meeting so I could get some freebies. DVC members, is this reception worth it. I might just go for the first half and then cut out.

Any thoughts???

Here is a shot from our second cruise taken the week of Thanksgiving 2008. I love the Castmember in the background hamming it up. These are the things that separate DCL:

Wow - I missed a lot yesterday!

This time a week from today we'll be heading down to check for the cruise at MCO (we're staying at the Hyatt the night before) :cool1::cool1:

Yesterday was hectic. Took DD to take the SAT. She's directionally challenged and didn't want her getting lost. Then DH went driving all over town to find light bulbs for the rear license plate for DD's new to her car. Then we picked up DD. Then DH & I went shopping. The goal was another pair of shorts for me, a few shirts for me, and a book for him. He got about 8 new shirts. Nothing for me. No books. Sigh. But I tried on a pair of shorts that had been a bit to snug and they fit great now so :cheer2: Today I start packing and pulling things together. This is getting so exciting. I feel like a little kid. I can't wait!

Rose - DH (David) is pretty quiet too. I'm hoping with the meets and dinner he'll start a bit more but we'll see.

I'm glad someone else posted the link to the 5 day navigators. Was planning to link it if no one else had :)

Cincimouse - I think you have a great idea, how for the 1st half of the DVC reception then join us for the meet. Since people have left I'm not sure we can notify eveyone to change it.

Typhoon Lagoon is better if you are in the mood for a more relaxing day for the wave pool and the lazy river. They have a couple of decent slides.

Blizzard Beach has better slides and stuff, so seems to be more exciting (IMO). The lazy river is pretty cool as well.

So I would say it depends on what you are in the mood for that day.

Hope everyone has safe travels. Soooo excited to be leaving in less than a week. Life has been hectic so unfortunately we dropped off the DIS for quite some time. Packing today. Yayyy. Friday can't come soon enough. We hit Universal and IOA for 2 days then off to the Dream. I really need this vacation after the last few months. See y'all later.

8 year old girls? No problem, unless you're a guy:rolleyes1
I've had that many or more 8 year old boys at my home when my DS was that age and that's way worse:rolleyes:
Running and hitting and throwing things and nerf guns and bows and lalalalalalalalalalalalal:scared::scared::scared::scared:

Mike, your youngest looks just like you:goodvibes

So cute:cutie:
Boy, there is no denying that those 2 are sisters!
Almost like twins!

Cincinmouse, the only problem with missing the second half of the DVC member celebration is that they draw for a $200 dollar OBC at the end of the meeting and you have to be present to win. They do give away other things during, but they really use it as an opportunity to try to sell you more points. The one the first day is not the only one they are having, I remember seeing at least one other.

UGGG, the dreaded SAT's:headache: Here's hoping she did awesome!:wizard:pixiedust:

So funny about your husband being a shopper! Cool!
Glad to hear that your old shorts now fit great! Isn't that an awesome feeling?! That has happened to me to this year:yay:

What kind of books does your husband read?
I'm reading one now called ROOM and I can't wait to finish it.
I seldom find one that good:goodvibes
As sick as I am one of my all time favs is STIFF by Mary Roach.
(all her books are cool!) This one is her adventures into finding out
what they do with dead bodies that are donated to science:upsidedow

My DS I hope he'll connect with someone (I always worry, but he always does) but my BF is very loud and fun and like a big kid (except for with my son, we won't go there, I'm hoping for a smooth trip between them 2pixiedust:)

Gosh! I still can't decide! I thought for sure with my DS being not a ride kind of kid at all that he'd say Typhoon because it's more relaxed and he said Blizzard Beach!
Must ask BF and try to get a vote I guess.
I just had also heard that BB gets more crowded because it is smaller and filled with many thrill seeking kids and teens.

Reading the Navigators I noted that there is a Club 18-21 that has different meets throughout the cruise.
I wrote some down and told my DS20 about them but he said "Oh, that's nice, not doing that ":snooty:

UGGGGGG! And so it begins:rolleyes::rolleyes1
