Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Also, is anyone gonna make their fish extender? My wife said she's worked with no sew hems and stuff before, so hopefully she can make ours. If not, they're online for $30.

Don't pay $30 for something you can make for much less...I went to Michaels and bought a four pack of small canvas bags, cut off the handles off them (except one) glued them inside of each other and let the kids decorate them...super easy and cheap and will prob do the same thing again this year (so the MIL can have a pocket)

Thanks everyone!!

We are so very excited - Can't wait to sail with all you wonderful people.

Sounds like it truly will be magical!!!

Great minds or luck??? I have a stack of those little bags which i plan to use for our FE's. I had not thought to put them together like that but sounds like a better plan than my vision. I would love to see a zoomed picture of your FE could you send me a PM of a larger version?

GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!!

Welcome to Angie and Bob!! I am sure your days are jammed packed with planning a wedding, cruise and parks!!! What a magical way to start your lives as husband and wife!! CONGRATS!!!

***********..you look Mah'valous!! Keep up the good work! I know how hard it is...I've been a yo-yoer my whole life....I know I NEED to do something about it, but it ain't gonna happen in the next 45 days...so, It is what it is...I am what I am. I know I won't be the bathing beauty on the beach, but at this stage in my life, I am not going to beat myself up over it either. You also won't see me in a 2 piece......I hope that eases your mind! LOL

The boys are on Spring Break this week. We went Saturday to an indoor gun range and then had lunch with Steve's parents. Monday the boys had dentist appts..."Look Mom! No cavities!" and Tuesday we all went to the eye doctor...Colton and I are getting new glasses. I only use mine for distance...driving, grocery shopping, football games....but in the house, they sit on the counter. So, on board I might have them on or off...and if I am squinting or staring at you blankly, I probably can't see you too well! LOL Oh, and they are transitions....I have not had a pair of those since elementary school, but I knew back then that I hated them. She assures me that technology has improved and that I'll love them. Yesterday we cleaned house and waited for the storms to come. Thankfully, we just got a LOT of rain and some lightening and thunder....none of the wind, hail or tornadoes that have terrorized the south. I pray that you are all safe!!!

Ok, and something I have been thinking about...and I know I am not the only one....I am HORRIBLE with names!! I know I can recognize some of you, know a few of you by name, but PLEASE forgive me if I ask your name a bajillion times or stare at you blankly!!! LOL I will try my best to put names and faces together!!!

Well, it's time to get moving around here. Not sure what we'll get into today. It's Payday Eve...LOL....so we'll have to wait to go shopping until tomorrow. This will be the first check that we don't have to payout the credit debt to,..so we have a little play money!! Yay!!! and SO much I want to do with it!!!! Get the dogs thier summer cuts, buy clothes for the cruise.....I even start to wonder if there's enough!!! Oh boy....

I wish you all a wonderful magical day!!!!

Double Dippin' Dreamer....
Michele :cloud9:

You won't be the only one Michele. Trying to put names to faces to user id's... it's more than this poor little blonde brain can handle, LOL. I'm going to do my best but please forgive me if I do the same and ask everyone a million times for their name.

Hope everyone is safe and well this morning.

IF you can't make your own FE, you can still find them under than $30! If you go to ebay, instead of typing "FE" in the search, put in different key words, like "disney hanging bag" or "disney hanging organizer", etc.

Here's one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/cute-Disney-Pri...671?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3caa6127d7

Thanks. We ordered this one. I wish it was a little more gender neutral for my sake but my wife will like it and Ansley is not old enough to care. I also spotted a Stitch one that was only $3.99 if anyone else needs one, but it reminded of the smell on Stitch's Great Escape, so I passed.

Thanks everyone for the kind words of encouragement!!!!
I definately won't be in a bikini anytime soon (or EVER!)!!!;)

We had some storms last night. I was up till 2:30am watching the news reports and being scared to death!!!! The wind here was scary. I wasn't scared of the thunderstorms, but the howling wind was almost too much!! On my balcony, my chairs, table, metal decor, etc., was tossed everywhere, so I had a little cleaning outside to do this a.m.

Luckily, the tornadoes didn't hit our town, but there were some that hit nearby.

I know we have a Diser' in our group that lives in Alabama. I hope she checks in with us. I thought of her last night. Hope she & her family are OK.

I know what you mean about Stitch. I get on the Stitch ride, only because my DD gets a kick out of me being claustrophic in those seats, while holding my nose the entire time!

Hey, all!

Well, now that our stateroom has finally been assigned, the cruise definitely seems more real. We booked an 8D GTY last June while onboard the Wonder and just got assigned yesterday. We didn't get upgraded, we are still in an Oceanview Family Stateroom, but we are in cabin 6674 on Deck 6 aft, which is just fine with me. I was dreading us being assigned a cabin on Deck 5 aft above the adult nightclubs. DH is a terrible light sleeper and even though we'll probably be up past midnight most nights, I'd much rather avoid the potential thumping from the bass that has been reported.

The kids are getting excited and we are starting to think about our FE gifts (I have some "regular" ones I usually make, but maybe I'll try some new things). This is DCL cruise #11 for me, so since we are all in the same stateroom, we get Platinum perks. So no waiting at the terminal (we'll get there early, but will be among the first ones on), free Palo dinner for DH and I, Gold/Platinum Reception for us all, and a few other goodies. The days are just going by so quickly! Even though we've all been on so many DCL cruises, being on a new ship for the first time is so exciting. We'll get off the first CC day, stay onboard at Nassau, then maybe just spend the morning at CC the double dip day. There are a bunch of movies we want to see and we really want to be able to explore and "get to know" our new "home away from home."

Our kids will be 16, 13, and almost 11 at the time of the cruise. Our DD10's birthday is August 3rd, so she'll be less than 2 months from turning 11. I'm hoping that they will allow her to go to the tween club with her brother. She has outgrown the Oceaneers Lab and the tween club would be a much better fit for her. They have been accomodating in the past, so I think the chances are pretty good they'll let her move up. I would just feel better them staying together (okay, in the same room - fat chance they will actually even acknowledge each other!) and walking back to the room at nighttime together. I asked them about getting to know some kids online before the cruise, which they've done before, but they said they just want to "wing it."

This is going to be fun!

Hi Rose! I think we were in the same FE exchange on the 6/6/09 Magic cruise to St. Martin. You have been a busy cruiser, congrats on your Platinum status! That no wait at the terminal sounds like a great perk! This will be our second cruise and we are excited too. DS is now 15. He did not use the kid club in 2009, we will see about this year! We are going to leave the ship on both CC days, we did not use our 2009 CC day very well so I want to get better at that. For Nassau, we'll stay on board for all but a quick walk in Nassau. I'm excited about the room tour - maybe you want to join that? Look for posts by 3DAN. Congrats on getting your room assignment, and not right above the clubs!

Hi Everyone - I just want to say that I really enjoy reading everyone's news, thanks for posting. I don't always have time to answer as much as I would like!

I'm going to girls' night out of scrapbooking, so maybe I will work on FE gifts.
Hope you all have a fun weekend planned. How many Fridays??? :)

I was just coming to post that we got our stateroom assignments, too....one of ours is 6675- we will be right across from you! Our other room assignment is 6683, which is four doors down from our first room. Very odd. I called DCL and she could not explain it. It is not a big deal because we don't have small children, but it seems so odd that our linked reservations are four rooms apart! I asked the rep about that area of the ship (it is in the very, very back!) and she said it seems like it will be a great area- no one will be at that end unless they have rooms there so the noise should not be too bad, there is an elevator close by and it will take us right next to the drink station (wherever THAT is), and we are mid-ship so the movement should be almost unnoticable. I am pleased with the room assignments and can't wait for this cruise!!!!:dance3:

we will be on June 12 too Cabin 7022

Hey everyone,,, don't forget to consider the room tour. It could be your only opportunity to see the different categories of rooms on the Dream and Fantasy.
Got to keep on preachin!
Got it Irene,,,, I've been swamped up here. Trying to start up with electronic medical records, new hardware(may need to rebuild) and also my associate doctor who has been out now for 1 and 1/2 months with which I am covering. WHEW!!!

Great 2 boys and 1 girl!:cool1: We also have 2 boys, 1 girl! They are 17, 12 and 10! I am so glad there are so many kids that are the same ages, especially the teens. I was a tad worried that our oldest would be bored or dislike the fact we are dragging him on this "kid" cruise. So far he is just as excited as the rest of us.

Hey, I noticed that you are from Knoxville. DH and I grew up in Oak Ridge. :) We moved to Kansas for Tracy's job years ago. Our families live there- in Oak Ridge, Knoxville and Clinton -so we get back there to visit when we can. :goodvibes
